Why are you whispering at me?!
#ASMR is an acronym commonly used to describe the tingly/buzzing/static sensation associated with certain audio/visual stimulae - often whispering/soft-spoken voice, and other quiet triggers. It's a similar feeling to 'frisson' - the shivers that run up your spine when watching an incredible scene in a film, or really /feeling/ amazing music. It's the best.

I was in tears trying to figure out what the character was going through. he misses those colourful days of his childhood, when he felt blissful. those days seemed to be gone forever - now everything was dark. it put a smile on my face to see him so happy and accomplished when he managed to recolour his life back again. this masterpiece that you've created speaks volumes about who you are and the type of ASMRtist or content creator you are / are trying to become. you're such an inspiring film maker, director, actor, and such a wonderful MAN. this warmed my heart, thank you.

While everyone is talking about the practical effects (which are super impressive!) I really love the idea of the video. As we get older, the world seems to become black and white. The character reflecting on the photos of his birthdays when he was younger, being in color, but as the pictures become more recent, become black and white.
The idea that a phone was "boring" and black and white, but the rubex cube, a "child's toy" being in color really drives the point that when we view the world like we would as a child, it becomes more colorful.
    At least that's my interpretation.

    • @WitchKing-Of-Angmar
      @WitchKing-Of-Angmar 3 ปีที่แล้ว +126

Not like we would as a child, like we would before 2000s and onward. The world really has gotten worse, it's not just a movie that you leave glad that It doesn't depict natural life, it's the movie about cancer, going home after to your relative that was just diagnosed with it, scared to what the future may hold. People will tell you it's just your childhood and Rose colored specs that treat you to the innocence pure best times of your life, but that isn't so true, when everyone around you is more and more unrealistic and miserable, whereas they weren't when you were young. Back then there were reasons to be miserable, now it's simply the act of feeling like nothing that is killing society. Wanting to sleep extendedly for hours upon hours hoping you can achieve something you've wanted to do. Before it was close and had a warmth and color to it, whilst now the things you've been waiting to get to at the end of the tiring week, seem miniscule and distant. You'd rather sleep than get to that enjoyment, because it's waiting for your emotions to meet the exciting thing, no longer the exciting thing to raise your emotions to glee. Like we are judging that fascinating wonder of creative joy as being so tranparent and not all it could be. It's like trying a show, in modern day it strikes people as odd to just dive into a random selection from Netflix or Prime (depending on the free section that is), sitting back on presumably your couch or for the strange - a swivel chair 7 inches from your screen. But that is the finite issue, we need to be told that it's good to watch, or basically what a short example of the show before hand, with people eager or anxious to start watching. It's the competitive devotion that current times offers so much, we can't just put it down, its destiny to finish at least an entire 5-7 episodes within one sitting, so it feels wrong getting into a mysterious show either ready to give up or a slave to the screen watching all the way through it waiting for something remotely enticing to happen. At other times curiosity I killed when you can't find what you want, after that you give the curtains close speech in your head and the "ah I'll just go to bed, the shows still not out yet". Instead of finding something else that proves a pivotal and exciting way to spend the night. We hold emotion over everything, and suffer because of it..never getting through anything and all of a sudden your weekend is spent away like cash to the first decent outfit a store offers; Or if it's Gucci...a final prize no one can win...and no one wants.
I haven't done anything fascinating that I've wanted to do for the last 3 months, Halloween is almost here and I haven't contended to being in any mood of haunting delight, and I'm sure for thanksg....for Christmas, I'll put up a tree, but see the whole act as more if a golden shimmer, than a tradition and great fresh minty enchanting joy I was enjoyed everyday until the final.
I honestly believe so that because I anticipate a major event or thing that will happen, I forget all the moments I'm in now, so I feel useless when October 31st hits, or December 25th ends. That tree and ornamental shimmer means nothing after those important follow-up days...at that points it's the past that your taking down. Oh how dismal.

I'm so confused since the beginning as I'm starting to look for clues like reflection, hues, shades, taint, areas missed by filter, is it edited his hands, his skin his hair I'm so confused whether it's all edited, practical effects or filter. @@Iera_Thaumaturgy That’s definitely true, but that’s the beauty of a work like this - it’s impressed us to the point where we’re putting own interpretations into it, even when it may not be intentional. The depression metaphor might not have been the original intent at all, but it’s very much one that appeals to those of us who battle it. And again, great art gives us room to believe it.

For me, this isn't great for the ASMR response, but I think this is an excellent model of what ASMR should be. Every action had a purpose, and it told a story. Nothing about the character was creepy to me at all, and they weren't randomly feeling things to feel things. The character feels natural. At no point did I step back and question "what am I watching?". It didn't feel forced. The character was relatable. It's good.

0:53 I can’t tell you how many times I looked at a picture of past me and felt that sudden happiness remembering and reliving the early childhood days when life was simpler. God I miss it. I miss when the world wasn’t all black and white. I would do anything to go back to my world when it had color and happiness in it. Now it’s all emptiness thanks to how deep people have fallen into the isolated and lonely abyss we call a society

I don't know how you got the colour into the video, but this, my friend, was next level creative! You must've had a tonne of fun making this.
And yes, of course, I got tingles like crazy.

Well, I'm pleased we've brought back the red umbrella. Wouldn't want to go too long without one. Really lovely, creative, calming work.

this reminds me of the feeling i get when i'm coming back to earth after getting really anxious or dissociated. as i ground myself and start paying attention to my surroundings again, it feels as if i'm gradually able to discard the oppressive greyscale and remember how to see the world in color again.
i've grown to love ASMR because it helps me get out of my head. there are things to be seen, felt, heard, EXPERIENCED around me that i forget to pay attention to a lot of the time. in a figure of speech (because of course is goes well beyond that) i want to experience life in color.
thank you for masterpieces like this that remind me what it is to be alive

What I love about these videos is that you can experience them in two ways. I typically watch it first, to see the beauty of his creativity, then I'll listen to it before bed to fall asleep to.

I find it very impressive that this was done with practical effects and editing, it looks so good and must have taken a lot of careful set design mixed with amazing editing to get such a beautifully stocked and living table, excellent work

You have such a unique take on ASMR, it's so refreshing. I'm a huge fan of this almost absurd kind of humour. I mean "The Man on..." series? Brilliant. Keep up the good work!

I love, love, looooove the creativity and execution of it! What clued me in was your wrist, but up until I saw it I wasn't quite sure how you'd manage to make everything so perfectly grey! I spent a long time looking at your hair also, the slight difference of colour with the rest made it really cool. Reminded me of Pleasantville. It was really, really, reaaaaally cool!

This is???? A short film?!?!?!?! Omg this is absolutely incredible! Not just the craft (alllll of the planning behind the color additions and switches) but in terms of the fact that Atlas creates depth to this character and tells a story while sitting in a chair without saying a word.
