Loved this video and everything you said. I love their Doucai mandarin duck dish. Has such a contrast with the familie noire Their conical republic famille rose bowl would be my second pick
Thank you Peter for this wonderful video. I had been traveling the past few months and missed your weekly updates quite a bit. Peter you have good eyes for picking the very best from this auction. I was in Christie’s HK office for preview of important lots for this auction in early April. The flambé moon flask is stunning; the tiger ink stone and cover is absolutely gorgeous, looks even better in real life than in the photo on catalogue, my personal favorite item in this auction. The expensive dragon moon flake is more or less one of the typical imperial house decoration items, dragons on both side look in great shock, especially their eyes. This is a big no no for Chinese as Chinese believe that only the right/ accurate depiction of a dragon’s eyes will put the spirit/ soul into the dragon. I am in HK for this auction and will attend its exhibition later today. Happy summer Peter
Thank you for another incredibly entertaining video Peter! I love it how you start with spot on accurate currency conversions and as you go along you slowly start butchering it! You should really just divide by 10, don’t put yourself through the anguish! Of all the items you showed, if I could pick 1 for my home it would be the Cabinets at the end. Never seen anything this spectacular… as you always recommend, Ill throw in a cheeky bid($1,000)… you never know!
always a great show. just a favour, if it is possible to show the foot rims along with a brief explantion what the underside should look, only if possible, thanks
I agree about identical pairs, the sad thing is that the patron asked a very fine artist to make them identical, i think any artist if given the choice would introduce some variation, big and small.
Interesting choices, thank you.
Great video, thanks Peter!
The cabinets look cool indeed.
Thanks peter
I love love love the flambe moon flask, the shape, the color, the handles, oh it is a lovely thing

Christie's don't show it most of the time.
