this was awesome - finally a 100 mile video start to end showing high and lows and no BS - love it! awesome job Allie! I plan to build to my first 100 in April 2023 (yes three) starting with a marathon this fall. Ive heard of the lows and struggles and expect them but this video really puts it into perspective what I will expect to happen.

Well done Allie! That looked brutal. Mile 93 on the final morning, staggeringly beautiful scenery all around with mist gently rising from the valley and low lying sun just beginning to light the hills and grasslands with a soft pink haze and all it gets is a casual "Look how pretty it is". That's ultra-running in a nutshell.

OK, Allie, challenge...uh, considered. 😐 I still have to make it through 3 miles today, though. I love what appears like "stream of consciousness" inner-monologue escaping into the real world. There must also be all those quiet times on the run when it's just silence coupled with the crunching of your shoes on the road (and the cartilage scraping in your knees) to keep you company. Thanks for the two-part run-spiration this morning.

Respect for your ambition, but you might want to try a marathon first. It's not just two halfs back to back. I've run eight or nine halfs, but only been able to complete two fulls.

I had to come back and find my original comment. I ran my first ultra on Saturday. 33.5 miles and 5000 feet of elevation. Hard work and training will pay off. And don’t listen to negative people when try to tell you you can’t do something even if they are trying to sugar coat it.

Amazing Allie well done. Feel really inspired but wondering if mid-forties is too late to consider an ultra?

Sounds absolutely painful but fantastic. I am yet to do an Altra but I have done a couple of marathons. I am a severely site impaired runner and I am going to tackle my first ultra next year. It will be the Manchester to Liverpool one which is 50 miles. I am doing London and Manchester in October and can’t wait. Love the channel and your great advice

This woman has convinced me I'm going to find the love of my life on one of these races. Only 74 more miles to conquer before I am worthy of being there.

Wow, one word, awesome. Allie is fantastic and I'm sure she would agree a bit bonkers. 👌😂These distances are crazy. I have watched a few films by people on you tube who have completed the Moab 240 which is mental. Do I fancy it no, got two half marathons coming up this year and would possibly like to do a marathon next year when I'm 50 if I can pluck up the courage🙈😂😂
