Water flows from our taps, but behind the scenes lies an intricate system of more than two dozen recharge basins in north and central Orange County that percolate and store more than 8 billion gallons of water per year. As we close out the summer and hope for potential rainfall this season, regional agencies are prepared to maximize stormwater capture from the Santa Ana River and enhance storage opportunities, all while preventing flood damage to our homes and businesses.
