De Cecco made one of my favorite sets ever (and one of the sets that made me the angriest as well). Against Brazil in the South American final, he set his middle with his foot. The ball was shanked, he tried to go underhand, saw he wouldn't make it, aborted forming his platform and simply kicked the ball up a bit towards his middle. It was outstanding, and maddening
are we sure about that first part, he has the best hands in the game and is my favorite setter but he is definitely not in the best shape for a pro athlete just like Ervin now lol.
De Cecco is soooo good but I was looking forward to more than seeing what he does but I was super interested in hearing your thoughts on his techniques and how one can train to attain skills like him. I hope in the next videos you could give your thoughts more and help us aspiring setters/players to become better. Still great video, coach!
Got it. I'll keep that in mind for the next one! Those just take a long time to edit, so if I have enough time, I will try to add some commentary in the 2nd half.
@@VolleyballProMindset thanks coach. One of my favorite series was your commentating over the Olympics. You had such insight on the background of the players and their skills
I don't know if it would really be effective in volleyball, but in order to connect with your more casual audience or just to add flair to videos, you could perhaps add a stat ranking to each player you breakdown sorta like they do in FIFA for football or haikyuu ig. These could be categories like Power, Jump, Speed, Game Sense, Court Vision, Technique, etc. If this would be too arbitrary or hard to compare irl and doesn't add value to videos then fair enough, I think it would be cool though.
For me, he’s not one of the best setters in the world. He’s THE best setter in the world. His presence is one of the main reasons I’m following volleyball nowadays and the reason why I’m rooting for Argentina over other teams. Always mesmerising to see him play. Too bad I didn’t follow him sooner.
Just give him the GOAT title. Gianelli, Christensen, Sekita, Bruno and others are amazing, but Marouf and De Cecco are in a different league from others. Between Marouf and De Cecco it's very difficult to choose the best. The tempo Iran played was faster than other teams. But I've seen Argentina and De Cecco playing similar tempo when their hitters weren't so tall (Bruno, etc) or effective. Argentine hitters have a worse spike % compared to other players. To compare the setters we need a fairer base (like Russian or Italian leagues), but Marouf hardly ever played outside Iran. Bruno may retire with the best record among all setters. To me, subjectively, De Cecco edges Marouf by a small margin because of his ability to find the absolute best out of his hitters.
I the setter know the player by heart and mind so that the opponent would not detect where to move the ball also a good setter must have eyes at the back and sideways ..seems impossible but as a volleyball fan I can sense it

He is one of the best, because he trains not only the body but the mind as well 🏐
Well said!

The Magician 🪄
I think I prefer your commentary on top of the highlights rather than just the highlights. I’d love to hear your insights

I don't know but watching Lube play this season I believe De Cecco has not been happy. Hope he can find himself with his National Team this summer!!
He used to play with Robertlandy, Lucarelli and other beasts, now Lube its a good team but inexperienced. Maybe he suffers that in the choke points.
Why do you think he wasn't happy with Lube?
Sliwka next pls!!!
do bruno rezende!!
Gostaria de ver um video falando sobre o Sekita ❤

Create one for Maja Ognenovic! I think she's the female version of De Cecco
