this one came today with the 9165 - what a beauty ! still a little stiff, but i am sure in 2 days it will be smooth as silk like all the other Sanrenmus.

Yeah, it has washers, they can take a little while to break in well.

Though I have many nice knives, this one appeals to me. I like the size and all stainless construction. Carry it and don't worry about it.

Generally I prefer tip up. And I generally avoid frame locks because I find it too easy to put pressure on the exposed lock bar which hampers opening. But it looks like the wide tip down clip protects the lock bar so that may not be such a problem (for me). So I've ordered one.

Not a framelock person but, loving the blade shape. Im surprised SRM completely snubbed the lefties with no ambidextrous thumbstuds.

I never bought on internet and i want to now for exemple the cost for me in Québec so, wen you say you pay 22 us i imagine that's not what came out of your pocket. How much did you pay total and will it be the same for me in Québec. tank you from a beginner.

I just ordered one from AliExpress (in China) for CAD $27.88 total, which includes shipping. It will be the same for you in PQ. There is a remote chance that you will have to pay HST when it arrives in Canada, but that is unlikely based on my experience.

I paid full retail for this knife from Amazon.com. $22USD I had the knife sent to a friend in Nebraska and then he mailed them to me, and I paid that postage too. ($18USD postage for four knives)

Brian's experience is the same as what I have when I buy from Asian sellers such as Aliexpress or GearBest. They show the actual price on their websites and I have only had to pay some customs fees or GST/HST about once in every 100 times I buy knives.
NOW, if CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) doesn't want me to have a knife I buy then I loose a LOT of money. CBSA loves to take away flipper knives these days, but they take away all sorts of locking folders when they want too. They don't follow the restrictions of the Criminal Code, instead they make their own rules about which knives they will not allow you have mailed into Canada. So you have that risk. Knives that are perfectly safe to have mailed into Canada are fixed blades (no daggers allowed) and slip joint knives. That being said, the knife in this video has a 99% chance of getting past CBSA even if they inspect it because it doesn't have the kind of features that CBSA is trying to ban.

The pocket clip is meant for a money clip that's why it's so wide...I had this and a different variant ...cheers !;:;:;, Spook

how is not catering for left handed people not a loss? I read on Google: " The estimated percentage of left handed people across the globe is 8-15%, with most figures studies suggesting it is 10-12%".
I would have bought this knives….

It is not a loss because they incur extra cost to make items left friendly. In this case they would have to rework the pocket clip or make a second clip for tip up position. (even if someone would rather it be tip up position too)
It can also be argued that if they decided to make it left friendly from the first day of starting the design that then it would not make a cost difference. Aside of the thumbstud there is cost to making a knife work well for both Right and Left handed users. It is easier and faster to just make it R friendly. More work time at design = more expense.
Now, I don't accept that as a valid excuse, but it's the one they would make.
Now to make a liner lock or framelock positioned on the opposite side - that expense I can see why most companies just don't make left friendly versions of the lock. the cost is not worth the return in a few Leftie sales.
I grew up left handed, I am fully aware of the MANY ways in which being left handed sucks. In a way I was lucky - I am the youngest of 5, 4 of which are boys. So I never got a Leftie hockey stick, or baseball glove etc. I got their old hand me downs and was forced to learn to live as a Right handed guy and by the time I was a teen I was fully ambidextrous though I still prefer to use my Left hand.

@@CanadianCuttingEdge I would be happy with ambidextrous thumbstuds and repositionable pocket clip. The lock its not an issue

    Land 910 is better!!

I have both and I agree, but it has an under 3" blade which matters for legality in some areas. IMO a better comparison would be the 7010 which is another sub 3" sanrenmu. I prefer the hollow ground blade on the 7010 but I prefer the look and blade steel on the 7096.

DontBotherNone, did you know that there is an 8000 series version of the 710 / 910 ? Blade is right around 3"
It is my favourite size of the 3 choices 710x vs 810x vs 910x = 810x as my winner!!
I did a review of it here: th-cam.com/video/-BX1gSA7es8/w-d-xo.html
AliExpress has it in blackwash and stonewash handle & blade - www.aliexpress.com/item/32920764170.html (no comission for me)
