Only the overcomer takes part in the 1st resurrection & the 2nd death does not harm them. So only the overcomer goes to heaven. Do a search on the word overcome in Revelation.
How they overcome is interesting. The Blood of the Lamb is essential. But the Blood of the Lamb is essentially spirit or of spirit in essence as it is incorruptible. So this means that the Blood of the Lamb is ONLY in the Spirit of God (Christ in particular). Therefore, the ONLY person that is continually being washed by the Blood of the Lamb is the person who ABIDES "IN HIM" ("walks IN THE LIGHT" in the way that "HE is IN THE LIGHT"). Hopefully, you did not fail the math course in High School that had to do with proofs in geometry. (Parallel lines and alternate, interior angles, etc.). "Little children , let NO ONE deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as ( καθὼς, kathos, g2531) He is righteous." I John 3:7 "Just As", kathos means 'even as', 'in the same proportion as', or 'in the same degree as'. So the last part means "to the same degree that Jesus is righteous" or "in the same measure that Jesus is righteous." OR => THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD (that is) IN CHRIST JESUS. In Engineering terms, these are the specifications to closest tolerance. For example, in setting up something to tolerance, you might be expected to tighten the same bolt three different times after making adjustments to other parts in between these tightenings. But if the final tightening is to be to 78 ft-lbs of torque, then when all is said and done, 78 ft-lbs is the final specification for this bolt. The closest or tightest tolerance being the final, complete definition of the 'necessary' tolerance. Therefore, even though there may be many "definitions" of 'the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus', the actual, closest tolerance of this definition must be the final, established definition which means... in order for you to be seen as having 'the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus' you must be "set" to practicing righteousness and not be ever again "set" to practice unrighteousness. In other words, if your righteousness does not meet these metrics you are NOT "THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS". Furthermore, it is assumed by this verse, that you are either 'practicing sin' by the power of Satan OR 'practicing righteousness' by way of the Holy Spirit. "If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him." I John 2:2 "We know that whoever is born of God does not sin..." I John 5:18 * I Peter 3:10-12 - & - James 5:19,20 - & - James 2:24 * James 1:28, 29 Human anger does not PRODUCE the RIGHTEOUSNESS that God desires. This means: (1) There is a righteousness that God desires. (2) The RIGHTEOUSNESS that God desires is PRODUCED. ie. It is not a name-it-claim-it, (defacto) state! (3) Any righteousness that is not PRODUCED, as a fruit or result of a lifestyle, is NOT a righteousness that God desires. Faith => Grace (Ephesians 2:8,9) => Holy Spirit (Galatians 3:2) => Freedom From Sin (Romans 6:14) => Enslavement To God (Romans 6:22) => Sanctification (Romans 6:22, Hebrews 12:14) => Eternal Life (Romans 6:22). "Blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God", Matthew 5:8. In other words, if anybody without a pure heart sees God, then Matthew 5:8 is a lie. "...What we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed, WE WILL BE LIKE HIM, BECAUSE WE WILL SEE HIM JUST AS HE IS. And everyone who has this hope focused on Him, PURIFIES HIMSELF, just as Jesus is pure." 1 John 3:2,3 Why does he PURIFY himself?!?..... because ONLY THE PURE IN HEART SHALL SEE GOD AS HE IS (Matthew 5:8). Everyone else will not have confidence and will shrink away from Him in shame when He appears (1 John 2:28). "But my righteous one will live by faith (that produces obedience), and if he shrinks back, I will take no pleasure in him", Hebrews 10:38. You know the verse that says, "without holiness no one will see the Lord".
