onya mate. color matching is a tricky one. you did pretty good for just a can and honestly it is good enough.. keeping it raw and real is why i enjoy your channel.
To me it looks like the rest of the car has metalic paint on it, they look very different on the highlights (the original paint gets brighter and has bigger highlights). You can clearly see it 15:49 : on the door the paint start the same color in the "shadowed" area and then gets brighter while the fender stays the mostly the same.
The new bumper and fender don’t match the rest you can see at the end of the video the passenger side fender and bonnet are different to the front bumper and driver fender it’s darker but not that bad of a job for doing everything at home with a rattle can and not professional equipment good job bro keep up the work💪🏻
It’s because the cars paint is so old it will never match properly unless u blend it and Porsche would have used different paint but it still looks great
Full re-paint? How long could a bit of sanding take? More zen therapy! And, yes, very well done. Doing almost anything for the first time will get the heart rate up. Thanks for undertaking this project.
Been spray painting for over ten years. The most important thing you can do for rattle cans other than shaking properly is heating the paint up. Will completely eliminate any orange peel you get from cheap paints. Sit in a bucket of hot water or use your heat gun if you only need to heat one can at once.
In the future, mix filler on plastic not cardboard. Cardboard sucks the moisture out of it and makes it harder to work with. You can get a book of wax paper sheets that you tear off for no cleaning as well
when painting plastic bumperbars you need to use a plastic primer on the areas that have been rubbed through to raw plastic..Any type of paint will not stick to the raw plastic over time. Might look good for a while but eventually it will peel off.
Nice to see you are still working on cars and growing the youtube thing. Good for you. So the paint is bit off but my pro tip is don't wash the car ;). It all blends in. I've tried to paint bits and pieces on 20+ year old cars and the colors never really matches. I guess the good old sun does it's thing to any paint. Good job.
Really decent quality paint for an amateur at home. Match is always going to be shit when mixing a paint code as the paint obviously fades. You have inspired me to try it myself.
Awesome job of your hard work in well done of your paint job bumper bar in everything else and really good clean Porsche 10/10👍👍👍👍👍 good music on the video
Good to see you out there working on the cars again, Rex 👍 . I have been up in Adelaide lately at the moment. rex you own a damn porsche! hell yeah lol. car looks great, time to fix up interior and get her insured! cant wait for more vids if u clean it up even more and mod it if there is aftermarket support for exhaust..etc then maybe you will flip it to fund future projects. But until then enjoy it
even if the rattle can is the right colour from factory, the paint on the car is old and faded so it will always look different from new paint. my understanding is that you need to either fade it in, paint the whole car or get a professional to colour match
@@APEVIS Doesn't matter if it's polished and the clear coat is still good it would look the same. But the colour here is completely different. the panels mentioned are different which he never touched. Colour matched paint so it should not be that drastic of a difference if it's been colour matched.
Update on the 2000 Camry LE 4 cylinder. I took the Camry to a detailing place they only charged $125.00, But something inside me said no. Like your friend that details I'm very picky as well. I'm learning to be a detailer myself as well as a mechanic. There are some things I can't do so the Camry will have be taken to a honest mechanic. If there is such a thing anymore. At least here where I live in the US. Your new vehicle is looking good. Until next time.
Are you a bot? You comment almost the identical thing every video You keep saying ‘I’m looking for an honest mechanic if they even exist’ if you think we are all out to rip you off fix your car yourself
When sanding by hand use rubber flex block so what you are rubbing is flat as opposed to finger mark Also in colder weather Shake can well and put in hot bucket of water ! This thins paint out
Color match didnt go so well. If you can see the bumper and fender being a darker shade on camera, I cant imagine how much of a camouflage scheme it looks like live. Are you gonna do anything about it?
New sub. Im following you now my brother. Im in Sydney wanted to do this as well but wife's not sure it will work be a viable job selling them colleting them

is it the light or the bumper and fender way darker

did it need a lighter primer coat?
That aint colour matched, looks like a repaint is the way to fix

That’s why you shouldn’t diy paint job below 18/20 degrees
I have 3 words for you bro, “bulldog adhesion promoter”, use in 2-pac or acrylic, makes anything stick to anything forever!! 👌👌👌
Might need to run a clay block over the skyline.

Great work Rexton ! Looks a million percent better
this is so funny because I was planning on fixing some dents and paint chips in my miata bumper tomorrow. Ive learnt alot from this video.
Nro maybe cover the cars beside where ya painting. Dont want them coated in lite grey hey 😂 top job newby
The porche tshirt is mint! 😂😃
Anyone going to mention the colour isn’t the same?
Looks like you got the wrong green, Bonnet and the rest of the car are different to the fender and bumper?

For a better result place the spray cans in warm water for a few minutes before using
Looks good, mismatched paint but still so much better than before
Looking really good mate!
17:13 Oof that paint mismatch on the passenger door and fender is bad.
If the nozzle clogs, tip the can upside down and spray until it is unclogged.
Whose car was that in your garage? It looked sick! Also nice job on the bumper!
Lachlans s15! And thanks bro
Man looks incredible. Amazing work

You should’ve blended the paint
your gonna get over spray on the skyline
Why didn't you just fill the scratches under the front bumper with the filler??
I think the diy colour looks better than the entire car 😂
what's happening with the other r32 skyline? Have you sold it yet ? or....
Nice content Rex and good find!🎉🔥
Great job bro but it looks like new paint a tiny darker 🤔🤔
I love your vids rex ❤️❤️
great job rex!!
Looks sick to me
Hey bro what size compressor you using? About to buy one today
Love these videos mate, awseome content.
How bro doesn't have a air compressor and a LVLP gun yet shocks me, Tins of paint and clear is cheaper then buying rattle cans in the long run.
When sanding by hand use rubber flex block so what you are rubbing is flat as opposed to finger mark
Also in colder weather
Shake can well and put in hot bucket of water !
This thins paint out
Even some painters cant match colours but that is way out.

No way !! Thanks Bro! Love ur content haha

yooo r u able to mod a Subaru Impreza and turn it into a WRX?
May as well just buy a cheap WRX and restore it
Not worth it
Would cost way more in time and money than buying a wrx to begin with
@@MicksMechanics true
@@MartinJones123 yeah true
Nice finish, but the color match didn't go so well! good try tho.
Aslong as your happy 😊
Pretty much the same thumbnail at TJ hunts video 2 days ago lol
Might wanna rattle can the whole car. Bumper and fender way darker on camera.
you can get the bumper dents out by pouring boiling hot water on them 🤣🤣🤣🤣
He used a heat gun doe? Same same?
@@Abble_7 but different ;)
good job
Is it me but they are 2 different colour greens to the original paint
Not even close
It’s diffrent colours?
Dudeeeee coulda just poured hot water on the bumper and used a screwdriver handle to massage the dents out so easyyy then just sand and repaint
waiting on the sandpaper link doc 😅
So what about the clear coat
just saw the end of this video. Are you serious its the wrong colour
Also give an update in skyline
