Very touching song. In 1960 when this movie was released I was 12 yrs. old today I am 75 and can't forget every word of this beautiful song sung by Lata ji and music composed by Shankar Jaikishan ji. I met a girl in Delhi and we connected pretty well and there was a spark between us but we couldn't do anything as she has a bf. I had to respect that and she didn't wanna ruin what she had with him. But we had some nice moments together. We went out a few times and we exchanged letters and notes. We both liked it, but we couldn't cross that line. After a point I felt guilty so I told that girl we can't see each other anymore and she understood that. This morning we decided to meet one last time and after that we'll part ways. I met her in the metro and we were both late for our work, but let all the trains pass away as we just sat there and spent time. We held hands and talked about how special this was for both of us. We were both asking each other how we ended up here coz I am a Chennai boy and she's a Delhi girl and never did we ever imagine we'd be in a situation like this. It was a magical month with her and everything was so great. Even though it was great, it had to end. Before we said goodbye, she was humming this song looking into my eyes and she told me to listen to this song. Especially the lyrics:

And said that it's kinda relatable to our situation. I didn't understand the meaning of the lyrics as I don't know Hindi. I just said I'll listen to it. When it was time for us to part ways we hugged each other and said goodbyes. The last thing I told her was "I'll see you in five years. If you were single in five years and the circumstances were in favor, I would shoot my shot. Even if you become fat." Now that I look back to it, maybe I shouldn't have added the fat part. Anyway, that's the reason why in here in this song's comment section. This is such a beautiful song.
