Now this is my kinda flight review!! You guys nailed it!! Lots of full throttle action and then using a high capacity low C pack is perfect!! Most wont notice but the plane had more punch and rpms with the 7000 simply because of the higher discharge rates of that pack! And then you have all that reserve capacity too! I have had the FMS A-10 in the past which uses this exact same power system and am familiar with how they use battery power. 110amps at full throttle and less than half of that when cruising around. This was a balls the wall type flight but with a 6200 and flying laid back I got over 5 mins with this system and the pack had 3.75 per cell when done. From what I can see this plane will fly really similar to the A-10 and should yield similar times! Shooting touch n goes and formation flight will be awesome! Love this review and keep up the good work with this stuff! Excellet job!!

WOW. What a awesome plane and video. This Old Man has been staying away from jets for maybe 5 years. During that time everything has been Big and Slow. This SU-30 just got added to the want list. Bobby K. love the camera work. Hope y'all and your families have a Merry Christmas. ✈😆💝
I can tell from your voice how much you like this EDF. I managed to snag what I think is probably one of the last ones available since HH discontinued this jet. It was a toss up between this and the newer Eflite F-16. I think I'll be happier with the Su-30. it's going to be a great stablemate with my Viper 90 (wich I absolutely love).
I don't have any 7000's yet and still debating whether I should get any or not. But it's not like I couldn't use them in my other eflite's (Draco/P-61/Fw-190/Viper) so we'll see.

Great flight Ryan the Intro was amazing. Not to bad on a 5000 pack. I flew mine on a 6000 75c pack and got more then 4 mins of use. The su 30 can definitely handle a 5 minute flight it's possible! Best edf hands down ever made. Thanks for sharing

I would normally never consider a bird like this, assuming it was out of my skill set to fly. But after seeing it fly for myself, she's a pussycat that just made it to my "Must Have" list!
@Cerus98 I have a number of EDFs, and have been flying for 40+ years. The last SU-30 I saw fly was fiberglass, cost 2k for the plane, 1k for the turbine, and flew like a brick!

If you have the admiral carbon 5100, try that one, the punch it gives it is awesome but shorter flight time. I think I like the rcjetwerx 6000 in mine the best but want to get a smart battery 7000 a try. I have the 2 5000 ones and they are fine too (30c and 50c) As always, awesome video, you and Bobby B were having to much fun

Pilot Ryan, great video's and love your reviews, well worth subscribing to you. Quick question, how will this (SU-30) do taking off of grass without flaps. I'd fly it with a 6000, and would install 2 afterburners, so a little heavy and haven't gotten an answer from HH or anyone on Hobbysquawk if this thing will get off of grass. A HH test pilot thought it may not be good for grass (none of them have tried-and also thought the front gear may be a problem), but can you give it a shot on a grass take-off? My F-16 is a little heavy as well, but with flaperons, if gets off of grass, without flaps, can be difficult.

Charles Restivo it really slows down nice without them. It’s doable if you’re willing to some programming or if you have a pnp and can already easily split up the channels

I like noseheavy. I’m pretty sure I put the smart 5000 almost all the way forward and the smart 7000 almost all the way back. Great flyer regardless

Hello Pilot Ryan and Merry Christmas. I am waiting to get my Su30 home and before I receive it I would like to buy some batteries for it, I'm going to use two 6s batteries around 3300mah for 3600mah and lie them next to each other, to get the weight as far back as possible. So I need to know how wide the battery compartment is and preferably in milimeter 😀 Thank you. And if your US guys only can read inches then it's quite okay 😂

Great video and maiden flight! Question, I noticed on the Horizon site the BNF comes with a 6 channel receiver. How does this jet only use 6 channels, is the nose gear tied into the vertical stabs?
Yes on many jets nosewheel and rudder steering are y’d in together. The same is true for the retractable landing gear. This plane has a speed brake instead of flaps so yes, 6 channels gets it done.

@@PilotRyanMedia but, how about Safe Select. Is more than 6 channels required for assigning a switch to turn on/off safe? I'm having tough time getting channel 6 assigned to a switch and using the pull sticks in and down/toggle the switch five times on a spektrum 6e.

Yes on good grass. Probably so. Maybe try to stiffen the front spring a little as well

Yes I’d say so. Our runway is 280. We don’t use all of it. It will be tight but doable if you know what you’re doing

I saw this at a Hobbytown USA (but it is sold to a buyer and it's assembled and ready to be picked up by the owner). It is huge!!! It IS much larger in person than it looks on video or images. It would never fit inside my Buick in one whole piece!

I don't understand in this things anything so maybe my question will sound silly but, Is there a way to fit an engine there to to extend the time of flight to at least 10 minutes,or to do any sort of updates to reach the maximum possible flight time? To me, 3 min of flight is just a teaser.

Hey Mate my name is Bill from Australia. I have been flying 6CH Collective Pitch Helicopters for 10 years. I want to say I love your channel mate its awesome your enthusiasm in your videos is the best. I tell you how much I love your videos its made me want to convert over and start flying RC Planes mate but have no idea where to start. I can fly a heli pretty well can fly inverted loops figure 8's etc and on the Phoenix Flight Sim I can fly the planes pretty well can land take off loops etc without crashing so was wondering if I would be considered a beginner in the RC plane world or would I be able to get one of the more advanced awesome jets you review on your channel? Not sure how realistic the rc planes are to fly on the sim and in real life but the helis are pretty close. Any advice would be greatly appreciated mate

SAFE doesnt really make sense with such a plane/jet. But the AS3X is all a nice feature, no matter the size or type of the plane
you also can only put the IC5/3 into the checker and you have all the data :D
hey pilot i have this plane ran the plane with power hobbys 5,200 50c batterys and puffed them up did you have the same problem puffing batterys and ruining them or do i need bigger tank like 6,000mah?
