I've never met an English person who pronounced schedule the American way. All the people I worked with pronounced it as she-dule. Also, the dictionaries I know give two different versions-- british and American.
What's wrong with "schedule" and "Holborn"? I don't get it. And with "almond". I always thought it's pronounced with æ sound, but recently I've found out it's actually [ˈɑːmənd]. The dictionary says so. So, what's wrong? How do you pronounce these words?
but i've been watching dr who series, and the word schedule was pronounced like its (shidgul) i repeated the scene a lot of time just because of that word.. so really how is it pronounced?😅
Fantastic clip Aly, it's liked in the film Invasion...if I'm not mistaken about the title, the film with the great Jodie Foster and Daniel Craig dealing with a sort of virus which transforms humans in chatatonic zombies !😅👍
Traditionally the British way is “SH” and the American way is “SK”. But honestly no one cares THAT much about it to say one way is “wrong”. So both are great and it’s a matter of preference 🤟😁
The point of the video is it’s pretty much personal preference how people pronounce these words. There’s no right or wrong but there’s plenty of assuming we pronounce them the “right” way 😂
I'm in trouble Please guide me can we use the title "Mr" with the first name or surname. Damn! I used the title Mr. with the first name at an event. I'm feeling very bad, ashamed, and he was British
This is such a terrible video. Billy pronounces Marylebone correctly, like Marry lee bone. My grandmother, born in Streatham, was actually married at Marylebone registry office. Skedule is American pronunciation. Shedule is the traditional British way. And surely you know that Scone can rhyme with gone and shone.
Billy knows what he's doing and he's going places
I love this skit. Please make it a regular series.
😂😂😂😂 hilarious you two! Aly is on the verge of tears 😂😂😂
YOUR NAME!
😅😅😅😅😅 come on pronounce for us......😂😂😂😂
Holborn was pronounced correctly. As was schedule. Skedule is the American pronunciation.
That's what I thought, as well.
“Correct” and “British” are not synonyms, bro.
I wish no ill-mend in the scones 🤣
@@papateachmeIf it is correct in British pronunciation, wouldn't that simply make it 'correct'
Both of you are very funny!😂
Asian guy did emotional damage to Ali lol.
As an ancient Briton its always been shed-ule the English/British way, not the USA-ian-ism skedule that has crept in with USA-ian tv.
No doubt, British English isn't what it used to be.

It was pronounced just the same on Google and by a native speaker, I really couldn't notice any difference, can you please elaborate on this?

Posh Billy😂
There is no definitive pronunciation of scon/scone, people argue about it all the time.
So, how it's pronounce Holborn??
If you have one on your plate it is a scone. If you dont have one on your plate it is scon!
Didn't he pronouce "schedule" the British way?

Hello, why no more people use "issue"? I use it sometimes.
We need more info over schedule as Google and some films really disagree with you, Ali

Guys, could you enlighten me about almond? Does it now have the l-sound in Britain?
Someone I know says it is ahmon. . . And his name is Almond. . . .like sahmon 🐟
@yelanchiba8818 the l is silent in almonds and palm etc
Thank you for your videos. Helpful and funny 👌
