Sigma sure has a lot of L and E mount ultra wide primes, I know they had 20mm, 24mm and 28mm in the ART series, they also have dn dg ultra wide zoom lenses 16-28mm and 14-24mm F2.8. I don't know why Sigma is not making them for Nikon Z and Canon RF
blue potatoes are always best served triple cooked (boiled, roasted, allowed to cool then sautéed) - with Rosemary salt and homemade Bacon Ketchup... yum
Would really be nice to see these on Nikon Z, otherwise we could just use the Megadap ETZ21 adapter which looks decent enough. The last point you make is really important. I've done that process recently to see if I could replace my Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 with something else (a 24 prime? the Z 24-120 f/4? a wider zoom?) and with the lightroom catalog and a bit of excel I calculated how often I shot at which focal range, at which aperture and so on. That way I have a less biased view of my shooting habits and what kind of lens I'd probably benefit from
The Tamron 24-70 is underrated, especially the G2. I have both the G2 and the 24-120Z and let me tell you, there's not much difference there. Tamron really made a great Trinity for F mount. I don't think that I'm parting ways with them and slowly will be getting the native Z versions.
it's so easy to adapt the E -mount lens on Nikon Z, I do that with all my Sony GM and Voigtlander and Zeiss E-mount primes on my Nikon Z9 and work beautifully. yes, even AF and eye focus works. I pre-ordered the new Sigma 20 F1.4 DN DG and planning to use it on the Z9 a lot more often than on Sony camera body.
Good test of the 20mm f/1.4 and 24mm f1.4 Sigma lenses, you got some good images with those lenses and you got a very good shot of the model jumping in the air and the model look really good in the images. Great video.
Thanks for the video. Blue Potatoes? Also, I agree about the mounts, Sigma really needs to get back on track with mounts for Nikon and Canon. Sigma's DSLR lens line up is awesome and in some cases better than Nikon and Canon!
Blue potatoes, delicious when mashed. Neither of these lenses are currently on my wish list (still invested in F- & D-series SLRs, and I already have a lens of similar focal length in the Distagon 2/25 ZF.2), but I will add them to the list of things to try if and/or when I switch to mirrorless.
Good video. Thanks for testing on the L-mount camera. I own the Sigma fp and Panasonic S1. Photo AF is perfect using native lenses on the S1 but I don't really use the fp for that. I was really hoping to see how the lens performs in continuous AF in video on the L-mount cameras. I know AF is a downside on L-mount but the S1 ate some Blue potatoes and now focuses great. The fp L has 49 phase detect Blue potatoes and may perform even better.
I prefer purple potatoes!! Fried with a little butter and garlic. (Purple potatoes don't have the high glycemic load and index as other more common potatoes for the diabetics who watch your channel.)
PLEASE : I would like to come across someone having the curiosity to make "back-up" photos of every shot made with the 24mm (at f/1.4, and say f/5.6) also with the 20mm WITHOUT CHANGING DISTANCE to subject ! ..then crop those in post to match as close as possible to the framing of the 24mm shots. (Imagine You could finetune and store the finder's cropping to ouer taste..!) . How does bokkeh, distortion, grain, ..compare?
Given the low sales volumes for Nikon Z cameras the best bet for the comming years if you are in Z eco system is probably to buy e- mount version of the lens and adapt it.
Blue potatoes? Trying to cut back on carbs so rice, pasta and potatoes have pretty much gone from day to day diet 😞 Shame they don't have a Nikon mount, I was always happy with Sigma lenses for my FM2 when I couldn't afford Nikon Quick question, i am going to invest in the Mac Studio and trying to decide if the Studio Display is worth the $$$$ versus the Dell UltraSharp 27" 4K...............did you buy the Studio Display and are you happy with it? Loved the locations you were shooting at in this vid, am still missing HK
The other day they served me a plate full of blue potatoes at my favorite restaurant. Then i remembered to take off my sunglasses and ... they were just perfect golden slices of potatoes. Just figure...
Side note: are you planning to do video about the Nikon Z 28-75mm f/2.8 lens at some point? The 24-70mm f/2.8 is too pricey for me, and the f/4 is... an f/4, so I'm real curious about the 28-75mm (especially cause a Tamron of that zoom range was the second lens I ever purchased). 🙂
Blue potatoes are great. Best eaten fried. Matt, I think it may have been a Nikon decision as to why Sigma didn't make one. Nikon wants to promote the Z lenses lineup before they allow third parties.
Don’t eat potatoes, especially Blue ones. Definitely want an option for these in the Z mount. What is going on with Nikon and these 3rd party lens manufacturers? Cheers for the vids Matt, always entertaining and educational.
the reason i would rather buy a blue potato than switching my Nikon F ecosystem to Nikon Z is exactly because the (autofocus) third party lens choice is simply not there! Love my 35 and 85 art, hands down my absolute favorite lenses i own, but i need to see a bit more lens choice before committing to Nikon Z
@@mattgranger The legend replied! i’ve been a subscriber since what feels like ages ago! Yeah i know adapters work better than they did back in the DSLR days, but i am not talking adapting my F mount lenses via FTZ, i would love to not have to fiddle with adapters at all. Maybe should consider Z7II + 24- 70 2.8S and FTZ for all my other lenses and gradually updating while also using D810 as a second body
Blue potatoes and why bother. I opt'd for the 20mm as 24mm never seemed quite wide enough for night sky and landscape shots. My 16-35mm is f4 and is waiting for the day for interior architectural shots.
Blue potatoes? Blue potatoes? Enjoyed the video--but, as you note, I'm curious how the lenses (esp the 20mm) perform with a different camera. I'm using a Sony a7rIV, and I'd like to compare the IQ of these lenses with, for example, the Sony/Zeiss 24mm. Bob
Sigma needs to follow the Chinese and get support for Nikon and canon mirrorless. There is no excuse for being this late except maybe they ate the blue potatoes

24mm blue potatoes for me for streets. I like the fact the size is almost the same as the Sigma 85mm 1.4. Compact enough and not too heavy for street.

Because Canon and Nikon don't allow them to make them.
love how compose wide shots, thank you

Interesting to see this although I don't have either system its available for. But the blue potatoes are a game changer.
excellent review with beautiful photos! thanks for sharing!
Test on Sony A7iv or A1 or A7Riv or A9ii next time. Good way to test lens AF and IQ.

Blue spuds are best cooked slowly and eaten cold !
I wish Sigma would release sharp, super fast wide angle primes like they did not so long ago.

Nice video. I bet those lens would work very well with a product shoot featuring blue potatoes, especially the chips/crisps.
Blue potatoes are real!
My brother-in-law choked on a blue potato. Almost killed him, save for his swan.
You should have tested them on a Sony body, to check focus and quality. I would love the 24 mm lens the most.....and blue potatoes
Loved blue potatoes while traveling in Chile, but beware some are poisonous.
Hello Matt, would you like to check out xvive u6 Lav Mic?Free sample
No thank you
Nice video. Sigma make a lot of great optics.
My S1R eats blue potatoes for breakfast with the right lens!
Blue potatoes are much nicer than the similar purple ones, especially as chips.
100% I thought the photos with the blue potatos in them looked best with the 20mm lens.

Rumor is that the nikon 28-75 is simply a rebranded tamron.

Third party F lenses mostly work amazingly well on Z via adapter. I’ve done a big video on this

Bluepotato Technology new feature replacing Bluetooth.
Never heard of blue potatoes before.
I like my blue potatoes roasted with salt, pepper, garlic and rosemary.
Blue Potatoes... I'm not heard about it in my entire life....
Sigma is my favourite blue potato.
blue potatoes are the best! I'd prefer the 20mm
Sigma fp L is a great camera.
Nice - you own one?
I've never heard of blue potatoes.
I love blue potato fries. They're best served with dutch joppie sauce
Blue potato ice cream tastes great!
Nice, I’ll check it out.
I like blue potato chips. I like your lens review. You've inspired me to go shoot my Z mount Nikkor 20mm f/1.8.
Blue Potato is the best!
Seriously, now I have to think about how to grow or make blue potatoes. Hmm.
blue potatoes - i prefer violet ones
Blue potatoes should be mixed with other colors, or they just look weird.
I don't think I have ever tried blue potatoes 😂😂😂
Hands down, Blue Potatoes! Chips or otherwise...
Blue french fries are great!
What's a blue potato?
Blue potatoes produce great lenses!!!!!
I miss the blue potatoes of HK
Blue Tater Chips. Slice thin, deep fry.

Not touching blue potatoes.
I prefer blue potatoes mashed also :-)
Hi Matt, think when Sigma comes out with Nikon Z mount, my potatoes have turned blue.
Blue potatoes make great vodka.🙂

Hi. I don't like blue potatoes... but you video was great!... as always. Hav' a nice day!
Excellent commentary, going out of focus is a deal breaker.
Most likely the camera. I have three (105 art macro, 45mm f2,8 and 20mm f2) and they work flawless on my Leica SL2...
Love my blue potatoes
Yes, more blue potatoes from NordVPN.
Blue potatoes aren't red.
Disappointing that Sigma is not producing these in Z mount.
Blue potatoes
