The C-390's refueling capability comes from being able to strap two pods onto wing stations; all existing military transports can do the exact same thing. Turboprop still have advantage over fanjet on hot and high, short take off and landing, and FOD ( if the prop gets damaged you just replace the prop, not the whole engine )..... The turbo-pro has the advantage that the prop pushes air over the wings even when aircraft not moving, and this gives a much shorter take-off run. The airflow over the wings in flight can also be varied in flight, and can be independent of airspeed. Slower landing speed of a turbo prop another advantage.
