I hope you keep at least one, so we can see it grow up. More so, to see what a difference a socialized ostrich with loving human contact makes in their behavior. Carl was become so much calmer. Until Carl started living at his forever home he has been fighting with an other ostrich. Now Carl has his own family, which probably never would have happen if he didn’t find a forever home. Me too Diane! I have no one. Both Parents remarried, then had children that they loved so much more than the first borns. That happens in many families, first born are kicked to the curb. The pain never completely goes away. Hugs Diane! 💔

I love the babies trill. It is so cute. I guess I’m the favorite kid. I’m the youngest. My brother left for the navy at 18. My sister got married at 18 and I was the wild crazy hippie teen. I drove them crazy. As adults I was the one that was most stable. My brother was still in the Navy, my sister became a party girl after her divorce and was killed in a car accident 42 years ago. I was the only one with kids and a home. Now I’m the one that takes care of my mom who has dementia. Guess it’s called life. ❤️

I feel ya Lester. I'm the first born. I virtually disappeared off my parents radar (unless I screwed up) when my sister was born. We have 4 years apart & instantly she became the favorite & got special treatment.😡🤘
I am sad that you don't seem to have forgiven her yet for taking the spotlight off you. My brother's children had a similarly strife riddled childhood. He told the older one, some day your little brother is going to be taller than you. Better learn to get along now, before he grows enough to beat you up!!
I love how you are working on getting the babies socialized and accustomed to be handled. This early training will really help when they go to their new homes. 😊💖 I am the oldest of 12 children, and sometimes I think my parents took me for granted because I was always the dutiful child who always obeyed and never gave them trouble. I also took on a lot of responsibility and helped my mom raise my younger siblings. It's still that way. The family just assumes I will take care of things and they don't bother to ask if I need help in caring for our mom. Just the way it is. 🙄🤷♀️
I was youngest in my family, and wound up being my mom's care giver. Never easy. I was RELIEVED that she thought to buy two years of nursing home insurance, so when her care needs outgrew my strength and ability, I had the option to put her in the local facility, where a number of friends of her generation already were. Plus I volunteered there two days a week, so I kept an eye on her, but I could go home at night and get some sound sleep. Or I would have, if my frayed nerves would have let me. By then I really needed to take care of me, too.
Love how when you put the first one in the crate. It's little wings went out like "I'm so big and bad". So sweet and entertaining. Glad Carl is cool with you handling his babies.

I had to watch this video twice because it is so adorable. I love the names that you are using. Hope you keep them. Amazing that Carl let's you get that close to even pick them up. He seems so calm and happy now being a dad. It would be great if you kept them. Rick said that he wants one but, I don't think he realizes what he would be getting into. Daniel would have to do a lot better fencing to have one at his place.

I love the babies trill. It is so cute. I guess I’m the favorite kid. I’m the youngest. My brother left for the navy at 18. My sister got married at 18 and I was the wild crazy hippie teen. I drove them crazy. As adults I was the one that was most stable. My brother was still in the Navy, my sister became a party girl after her divorce and was killed in a car accident 42 years ago. I was the only one with kids and a home. Now I’m the one that takes care of my mom who has dementia. Guess it’s called life. ❤️
Good morning Lester. It is so strange how Carl seems to be the one to watch out for the babies, and they seem to stay with him most of the time. Those babies seem to poop, and pee a lot. Poor Jami has her work cut out for her keeping the floors clean. Poor Maggie looked so sad sitting out on the porch with the baby ostriches running around inside the house.

I laughed so hard. My Grandma said my Dad brought in every animal (farm) in the house. I & my sister have done the same thing LOL 😆. 😆 😂 😅 🤣 Babies are so much easier to handle as they get older plus we didn't want they to died because of our Arizona heat or if it was going to be so cold LOL. I am the oldest of 12 children, and sometimes I think my parents took me for granted because I was always the dutiful child who always obeyed and never gave them trouble. I also took on a lot of responsibility and helped my mom raise my younger siblings. It's still that way. The family just assumes I will take care of things and they don't bother to ask if I need help in caring for our mom. Just the way it is. 🙄🤷♀️
I was youngest in my family, and wound up being my mom's care giver. Never easy. I was RELIEVED that she thought to buy two years of nursing home insurance, so when her care needs outgrew my strength and ability, I had the option to put her in the local facility, where a number of friends of her generation already were. Plus I volunteered there two days a week, so I kept an eye on her, but I could go home at night and get some sound sleep. Or I would have, if my frayed nerves would have let me. By then I really needed to take care of me, too.
Love how when you put the first one in the crate. It's little wings went out like "I'm so big and bad". So sweet and entertaining. Glad Carl is cool with you handling his babies.

I love the ostrich babies. They are growing so much so fast. They are as precious as the day is long. I know nothing about raising animals outside of cats and dogs so, I'm learning along with you guys. Thank you so much for what you're doing and sharing these little ones with us all. P.S. I had to watch this video twice because it is so adorable. I love the names that you are using. Hope you keep them. Amazing that Carl let's you get that close to even pick them up. He seems so calm and happy now being a dad. It would be great if you kept them. Rick said that he wants one but, I don't think he realizes what he would be getting into. Daniel would have to do a lot better fencing to have one at his place.

They definitely need this. They are not wild animals. They were born in captivity and are never going to be wild animals. The more interaction with you guys, the better as they will grow up knowing that humans are good for them. Love it. Debbie and Carl look like they enjoyed the break. xxx
