You may think it turns off.... but in the middle of the night when your alone in bed sleeping... it starts talking. Scary stuff haha! My furby i loved when I was little, but at night I was terrified of it and it had to be put far away from me ha
I have 7 Furbys a teal and pink one a red black one and a yellow one and a peacock furby boom and a furby with stripes black and white and a party rocker furby and a old school furby! Soooo cool!!!

By "going down a path of personality development" I assume it's marketing talk for "it starts cycling between 6 pre-programmed personalities that get evoked depending on the interaction?" ... even the Aibo or Pleo is not that advanced, even though Sony and (the late) UGOBE claimed exactly the same. Nevertheless, I am picking up my UK speaking furby from the post office tomorrow! Excited! :D
If your batteries fun out do you have to start all over in their training? Do they retain everything because you know you will have to change the batteries. I have two adult, two small and 1 gizmo. would love to have a new one to add to my little family. I have 21 grandkids and 4 great grand kids and I can hear them already says please can I have one? They play with mine all the time.

There isn't that much features on the iPad anyway. Its just another way to feed furby, which you can do manually by sticking your finger into furbys beck. Also the translator is the only useful thing, but I think they will put up Furbys vocab on their website anyway or someone will translate it so everyone can use it and understand. It might come with the furby booklet also.
The new eyes are cool but they don't look furbyish to me. And what's up with removing the light sensor? That was an awesome feature. And the only way to shut them up! Lol!

The best way that I have found is to take a battery out. It doesn't hurt it and he just acts as though he has been asleep.

What i know is, it cant play peekaboo because hasbro didnt add light sensor.
2nd generation Furbys also have eyelids that come down, so that's nothing new.
