I also think the navigation unit in the car and also in smartphones is one of the reasons we drive less. It's much easier to find your destination when you often are presented with the shortest route.
@Stevie B. Thanks, but I checked it out and its not the eos. Its the 2013 vw jetta sportwagon tdi. I had to look through several vw videos to finally nail it. :-)
sport + is not canceling the stability control it deactivating traction control and lets you slide a little bit there isnt a chance to spin car because stabilty control is still working but only in dangerous angles. Aaaaand when you feel it you gonna use it a lot :D believe me i know..
I wonder what car Brian Cooley decides to pull out his driveway everyday, considering the amount of automotive knowledge he has it would say a lot about the car.
They do have a reverse camera that comes on automatically kn both cars I own. Dont get that one and driving an automatic didnt include how most non-sports cars automatically upshift you or not let you down shift with paddles or sport drive
+Leo look up VAT. In Germany it's over 19% and its included in the price. In the states tax can be as low as under 5% and since each state has separate tax rates they are never included in the price of anything.
+Pawel Ludew Hi I purchased a new 428i 2 days ago in Florida for US$38k on a 2015 clearance Black Friday event, $4000 discount. It is the basic version and I am loving it!! As a foreigner living in the US, it is amazing all the possibilities on a such competitive and low tax market.
swap my pre lci 335d for 325d lci '11 and I'm happy to drive this car another 3-4 years. Next model will be 430d or 330d f30. I love bmw and will stay with this brand for years. Great engine, gerabox, suspension and equipment. The price in UK is higher than US, but it's worth to pay the price for this kind of engine and gerabox and that agressive look. It's overprised, but way better than other cheap brands for me. Good remap and I have jump from 204hp->300hp and massive over 600nm of torque with 40mpg or more.
LOL! surely those German engineers are genius. They can utilize a space in the dash board by designing a display screen on top of it, yet they just can't design decent cup holder ... not even one.
Eric Glueckert That's beside the point, and everybody knows it already anyway. You don't buy an automatic to have a totally satisfying driving experience, you buy it for convenience. The extra control manual mode offers is something most people don't take advantage of, and this how-to does a perfect job giving people everyday tips. Not everyone is a car enthusiast, don't be thick.
I realize that I'm in the minority here, but wow... I've been installing car stereos in my cars since 2008-09ish and they haven't had optical. When will these companies ditch this?
Eric Glueckert You say they should look up a video on youtube but isnt that what this is? People make help videos because there is a known problem. How can the person making the video know about a problem if someone doesnt ask so they can make the video in the first place?
call me conventional and traditionalistic, but all these smart automatics will give us more and more unskilled drivers until even walking next to a road will be dangerous....
I like Cooley. A lot. I like his delivery. BUT, every review I watch he says, at least, one think that is flat out incorrect. In this case, he is wrong about the display. The premium includes the display he is talking about. The fact that he has one without it is very strange considering all the other equipment he does have. I don't know if he does his own research or relies on script writers. But every time some wrong info is given.
+Naveen S c class is also entry level lux. The CLA was made to compete with the 1&2 series and to also justify pushing the c class more upmarket. But 3,4 series, a4 and c class are all on the same level. If you look at the German or even British MB website you'll see the A & B class which are also FWD and share their platform with the CLA. Those are even cheaper but not luxurious enough for the U.S. Market since we don't like small cars. Imo right now the c class sedan is better than a 3 series but the 4 coupe is better than the c coupe.
OMFG they brought COOLEY BACK! Its about damn time! My prayers have been answered, thank you JESUS!
Cooley is great! This show is one of the best on TH-cam.
Only Cooley to make me watch a whole 20 min. video on youtube.
i missed brian cooley and his Cnet On cars segment
"You don't need to push it real hard to feel it. " that's what she said
Saad Qureshi it's the little things you gotta look out for.
Really digging the segments you do after the main car review on every episode.
Oh yeah Brian's back...I can finally watch cnet again
Brian Cooley , the YODA of automotive world
Ppm pop p no ñ.
no p😅😅😅😅😳😰😡😡
Cooley is the best!
He really is an excellent car presenter.
I missed your awesome reviews. Hopefully cnet can upload more of these in the future.
I adore this person
I think this new 4 looks fantastic. Great job, Mr . Cooley.
Yet again, another fantastic episode. Well done as usual!
Nice video,thank you guys!!!
FINALLY CNET CAR REVIEWS WITH COOLEY! Its been to long. U guys should be making 3-4 vids a week.
I also think the navigation unit in the car and also in smartphones is one of the reasons we drive less. It's much easier to find your destination when you often are presented with the shortest route.
CNet checks the tech, but not the photo proofing.... 1:39 thats a 2 series coupe, not a 4 series.... Whoops
Glad to see my Mazda 2 is at least close to being acceptable for the small overlap crash rating
@Stevie B. Thanks, but I checked it out and its not the eos. Its the 2013 vw jetta sportwagon tdi. I had to look through several vw videos to finally nail it. :-)
Hands down the best show on TH-cam.
Cooley should be on the cover of GQ
He would own that cover!
Another great episode! Would be great if Brian showed how to drive a manual transmission even bettter! :)
sport + is not canceling the stability control it deactivating traction control and lets you slide a little bit there isnt a chance to spin car because stabilty control is still working but only in dangerous angles. Aaaaand when you feel it you gonna use it a lot :D believe me i know..
Great show, Mr. Cooley. You rule!
excellent programme
Get i something wrong? Why they show a picture from the bmw 2 coupe at 1:40.
I love this car.. Can't wait for my 435i M-sport to arrive!! BTW, absolutely love Mr. Cooley
Man I love this show! Go Cooley!
I wonder what car Brian Cooley decides to pull out his driveway everyday, considering the amount of automotive knowledge he has it would say a lot about the car.
I wonder why BMW chose an analog MPG gauge for the 4-Series... My old 335i coupe had a digital one which felt a lot more modern.
Cooley! Finally, the world makes sense again.
20:14
Wait wait wait.... R Kelly is the director of CNET on Cars?
Omg. Lol
great show! congrats guys!
Am I the only one who skips through X-Car?
Hate that shit LOL!
I come for Cooley only!
So you don't want to see the Zonda S?
MrVnick1 Nope, the commercials are dumb. If I want to watch X-Car, and I do, I'll just go watch it, which I do. I don't need advertising.
Driving trends that has put a dampener on driving is gas prices since 2004
Cooley is the best of CNET
They do have a reverse camera that comes on automatically kn both cars I own. Dont get that one and driving an automatic didnt include how most non-sports cars automatically upshift you or not let you down shift with paddles or sport drive
nice format!
Cooley #1
There is nothing wrong with the MPG gauge. It makes a lot more sense than a digital display constantly fluctuating between seemingly random numbers.
Three Bs are the reason for me to subscribe to Cnet. Brian, Brian and Bell. :D (Brian Cooley, Brian Tong and Donald Bell)
you showed 2 BMW that weren't the same model that you were testing. your CNET, you are supposed to get these things.
COOLEYS BACK!
"You don't have to push it hard to feel it"
Thats what she said.
Cooley you da man no one dose like you 4 words YOU ARE THE BEST do you remember my wheel alignment idea a while ago for a car tech 101?
Love this show!!!
I hate to point this out, because this review is top...but the image at 1:39 is the 2 series.
I would watch Cooley review pretty much anything.
Interesting, thanks.
Cent and Cooley rock. The x car stuff bites.
great show
OOO that pot hole at 5:04
So, when the 4 Series VS ATS coupe?
Really good webisode!
Great show, keep it up :-)
really beautiful one
Finally Cooley!!
1:39 I think its BMW NEW 2 series, right????
Coolly is the best
4:08 that's a lie, you just have the cheapest version, there is an lcd screen between gages on higher versions of this model
Please do a how to drive a manual for people that drive autos but want to try out a manual aka me
ford has an electronic tailgate on its new ford 150 :D
holy shit that 959 is nice
uk base price is 37k pounds=55k dollars, so in usa it's much cheaper than europe
+Pawel Ludew Any reason as to why?
different taxes
+Leo look up VAT. In Germany it's over 19% and its included in the price. In the states tax can be as low as under 5% and since each state has separate tax rates they are never included in the price of anything.

should review 435i instead
1:39 Picture is of a 2 series. Oops.
Why did they show a 2 series during the video? XD
Lmaooo they're still putting in the swinging fuel gauge!!! They still haven't lost it completely
What is bottom line?
Fisker.
cilvrado Thanks
FINALLY i missed cooley!
"ugly is included " whats that car ?
VW Eos
VW Jetta sportwagen TDI
Love the BMW!!!
LOL! surely those German engineers are genius. They can utilize a space in the dash board by designing a display screen on top of it, yet they just can't design decent cup holder ... not even one.
i take it this is the 6 series replacement and the X6 will become independent
Why are you reviewing the low model!! Should have done the 435i!
Ure da man.
so much cheaper in the USA, in Europe base model 420i starts at 55,000 $!!!
They got the wrong picture at 1:39 that's the 2 series.
How to drive an automatic, really, how oblivious to driving can people be?
with paddle-shifters -_- ... i guess brian was so obvious when he specified that !!
It's still pretty straight forward, I believe most people will still just put it in D though.
some like to play around and feel they are controlling da whole process
Cars with manual transmissions make the process much more satisfying.
At 1:39 That's not a 4 Series! #FAIL
#6 the cost of living is increasing; #7 less people between 18-30 have a job or money to spend on a car. Good segment video and though
I realize that I'm in the minority here, but wow... I've been installing car stereos in my cars since 2008-09ish and they haven't had optical. When will these companies ditch this?
Michael P It also works well a practical horizontal line for breaking up the dash, aesthetically speaking.
Honda Accord is way better than BMW. If you want real luxury sport car get a Mercedes Benz.
i go for m6 coupe
"German cars - no touch". some VWs have touchscreens.
Eric Glueckert You say they should look up a video on youtube but isnt that what this is? People make help videos because there is a known problem. How can the person making the video know about a problem if someone doesnt ask so they can make the video in the first place?
The car change color from sliver to red
call me conventional and traditionalistic, but all these smart automatics will give us more and more unskilled drivers until even walking next to a road will be dangerous....
I like Cooley. A lot. I like his delivery. BUT, every review I watch he says, at least, one think that is flat out incorrect. In this case, he is wrong about the display. Looks like a Honda Accord.
1:40, thats a 2 series...
Mpg gauges are a Subaru thing not BMW
I'm surprised its more expensive than a CLA250
CLA is fwd and an entry level sedan. This is suppose to go against the C-Class coupe.
+Naveen S c class is also entry level lux. The CLA was made to compete with the 1&2 series and to also justify pushing the c class more upmarket. Suuure, don't take those ideas to sweden :'(
Not bad at all
احلا ب أم متي
1:40 That's not a 4 Series
Why are you tech reviewing a car that doesn't have all the tech, like I drive 4.0????? Doesn't make sense to me.
No clutch, no manual!!!
Yo
