Furkan Toprak A lot of those things are fine by me but it's just such a clear line between good and evil and it just seems abundantly clear that good will win. Why not have more movies like the Dark Knight, where it's actually about two ideologies fighting against each other and actually both making sense in a way? That's when you walk out of the cinema and aren't sure if the protagonist or antagonist won. In Marvel, it's always: this guy wants to destroy something and our hero will do everything but cross a single line in order to win over him.
I can see why people are kinda getting bored with comic book superhero movies, but I feel that most of them (even DC) are taking a step in the right direction. I think Thor Ragnarok is probably one of the best films in the MCU only because it really felt like a comic book. The movie didn't just have Thor in it, and the other Superheroes in it weren't just cameos, they were there to further the plot. The inclusion of Hulk in that movie was fantastic, and seeing Doctor Strange was great because it shows us what he's been up to since his movie, and also helps connect him to the Avengers more. Maybe it's just because I am a comic book fan, but I believe one of the greatest things that a superhero movie can do is have a crossover, and the less solo-superhero films we have, the better they're gonna be. As for Fox with the X-Men universe, The main films aren't too great, but the spin-offs look incredible. I really like how they are changing the definition of a "superhero film," instead of making them just straight up action movies, they are making different types of movies that just happen to include people with superpowers. Logan was a western, Both Deadpool movies are R-Rated Comedies, and the New Mutants is a horror film. Superhero movies aren't a genre, like action or drama, Superheroes are simply a kind of character with special superhuman abilities that fight for the good of others, and I think that when more people realize that, we can truly have good movies coming from these companies. And lastly, although DC isn't in the greatest spot right now, I think that they at least have the right idea with how to structure their movies. They don't really have a solid schedule for their movies, but from what we know and what they've already released, they only have 4 solo superhero movies (MoS, WW, Aquaman, and The Flash) and all the rest of their movies are seem to be including multiple heroes in them. I think that this is what DC is doing right because as I said above, crossovers are the best, and, as long as you keep it at a manageable number (I'm looking at you, Infinity War) having multiple superheroes in a movie can be a great thing that helps develop characters and how they work and fight alongside each other. I know that this is a little long lol, but I just had to get this stuff off my chest, and for some reason I figured the youtube comment section was a good place to do it.
I think the point Trott was trying to make is that the Marvel movies are not just all stereotypical superhero movies. For example, Ant-Man was so different because it was a superhero movie but also a heist movie. The same with Guardians being a space opera and Winter Soldier being a political thriller. They are the same but different. Therefore the audience knows what they're getting but in new and exciting ways.
Re: Being tired of superhero films - It's the genre that you're tired of, I think. Look at music; I'll listen to a lot of one genre for a while and though each song or each artist has their nuances (both subtle and pronounced) eventually it all feels like more of the same thing, so i'll move to something else. What's different with movies is that we're much more limited in terms of what is released, and remarkably more so with what we can readily see in the theatre and then what is popularly discussed - we can't simply hit shuffle and refresh our minds.

I agree with Ross and Smithy about MCU. I think while on paper its cool because you have all these characters and theyre all connected within a huge universe, honestly, most of them have the same format, and the characters are either cast really well, or theyre just completely dull. Like I dont understand everyones obsession with Captain America, personally. Thor Ragnorok is one of the few recent marvel films i've actually wanted to go to the cinema and pay money to see. The others were GotG2 and Deadpooland the last one i went to see was Age of Ultron. I still havent seen Civil War and tbh, I've got the impression that I dont need to because theres only one piece of major information that you find out from it. Also the whole Scarlet Witch/Quicksilver thing annoyed me, but thats a whole other tangent XD
You guys should definitely mention 'Naked Dating' next. It is the weirdest television show I've ever seen and could only exist in the UK. I think your international audience would really appreciate your insight in a show based on people judging each others naked body.
I remember that episode with the continuous sex. It was that episode's bad guy that trapped them in the room and made them just want the keep going, I think.

It's a formulae for a certain type of storytelling, and it WORKS, so they keep with it. It still sells better than DC's gritty stuff.
