It’s actually pretty easy to imagine parts of this song playing when the racers arrive in one of the cities along the SBR race.
The heavy emphasis on percussion and the triumphant, ambitious build-up before the final call of “TUSK!” definitely adds to it, given the clop of horse hooves and the ambition of the racers

When my son was eleven months old, he went deaf. He had a major surgery to try to restore some hearing. They asked us to keep sound to a minimum while he was healing. One day, I turned this song on very softly. Suddenly, he squealed and crawled over to the stereo, pulled himself up and started dancing. That's when I knew the surgery was a success and my baby could hear! Every time I hear this, I see that eleven month old baby, standing there with a huge smile and dancing, because he could hear the music!

I remember as a kid my family and I were on a road trip and I was waking up from a nap with this song playing. I thought that it was the coolest song I had ever heard and ended up listening to it on cassette often. This is the first time I've watched the "official music video". RIP Christine McVie
Omg I had a very similar experience! Dad had Fleetwood Mac as one of his road trip go tos and the middle part of this song sticks out in my memory!
For those that don't know how this song came about , Mick Fleetwood used the beat from this song as his way of making sure his drum-kit was set up right , and the band decided to use that beat as a basis for a song , hence what is the majesty of Tusk .
Fleetwood was the best drummer of all time.

I remeber back in the days , I took a ship to the U.S. (I'm from Italy) . When I arrived , i was walking around a town there and decided to go to the beach. When I arrived there I noticed a boy on a wheelchair playing this song, it seemed like it gave him hope:)! We later became best friends in a horse race across the US.

Back in the day the USC Marching Band was the shit. This was a big thing, incorporating the band into a song and music video. It was a cool time to be alive.

I remember seeing this video as a kid back in the summer of 1981 on this new music channel that only played music videos. Was so different from all the other MTV videos in every way.
Stevie was such a stunner and her spinning at 1:15 still blows my mind; the band coming out at 2:42 still gives me chills 41 years later. Tusk!
As a band geek who was in some combination of marching band, concert band, and orchestra for 8 years, let me say that 41 years later, both this song and the band uniforms are FIRE 🔥 I’d wear this color guard uni or those giant helmets in a heartbeat!
