I always get goosebumps when I hear Stell, Janella and Zephanie's performance!
That is what I thought the first time I saw this & true he's not just a match to morissette's voice. It could be darren espanto. They both sounds great when they did a whole new world on the wishbus.✌️❤️
We know for a fact Stell could do tha high note. He did sing it in one of their videos and killed it. I guess Disney wanted a harmony for that part and is why Zephanie sang the high note and Stell for the lower one.
"Imagine More" is recently composed by Disney for Morissette's solo recording. She is now officially a Disney Princess. I think that Mori has to do a version that can be sang by anyone especially children. 🥰

In fairness to Christian Bautista, Disney songs were written more for women's voice to shine where they could do all the vocal gymnastics while the men's voice were more for background. As such, it was a disservice for him to be singing these songs but as a professional, he did it and allowed Morisette's voice to shine. However, Christian Bautista is one of the well known male singers in the Phililpines. He even appeared as the male lead in Kitchen Musical which featured all Asian artists and was shown all over Southeast Asia. You should check him out.

Christian is a balladeer not a belter CIndy... The song doesn't require any of what you are saying. If you will observe Morisette's performance belting was lessen because the song and intention doesn't require singing acrobat. It's the heart and soul.
After watching this for the first time, we started watching Disney Films like Pinocchio (new version), Moana, Mulan & Lion King….I felt that I was young again 😁

Me too. Christian Bautista is actually my long time favorite ballladir and He is really one of the best but after seeing this I feel like something went wrong and to be honest I'm not satisfied. Still Darren Eapanto matches her.

Cindy, you make me laugh. My take on the duet with Morissette is that Christian seemed overly excited to be on stage that will expose his talent to the world. He almost seemed too eager and self promoting. Whereas Morissette sang the way she always does... with her whole heart, always interpreting the songs in a beautiful way. Christian sings very well. Their delivery were different.
Kudos to Disney + Philippines for show casing these great singers...Sephani (grand champion in idol Philippines few years back) Janela covered Disney songs.. our beloved heavenly voice Stell.. Poor Christian Bautista haha....but he needs a bit more than a gentle roast and he'd step up his game to be paired with the flaming phoenix....or preferably never lol. Btw, the empty venue was at the philippine arena, recognized by guiness to be the world's largest arena but I'm not certain I totally agree....although the world's largest gospel choir consisting of about 20,000 members had their debut performance there at ph arena to which they are members of Iglesia ni Kristo (Church of Christ)...also made it to the guiness book.

Interesting tidbit....This was recorded in Oct/22 as, Morissette, Christian and Eric Santos were in the US the first 3 weeks of Nov. doing THREELOGY 2.0 . They had a concert in Chicago Nov. 13 , and a day later Christian , flew back to Manila, to be apart of the LIVE Premiere of the Disney+ release , Nov. 17th, plus to visit his wife Kat, who is also Mori's personal Manager. THREELOGY'2.0 s last concert was in Wash. DC , Nov. 19...so right after the Premiere, he had to fly back to the US. They then all returned back to Philippines on Nov. 21
Christian racked up the air miles.

I think Christian did well because that is how the song should be sung. Maybe if you're looking more on a different side of the song like a cover or rendition you have can two powerful voices clash. But Disney wants it that way even with Darren and Mori singing a whole new world in wish bus they can go up and high but they stick on their melodies as required by Disney.
He is one of the best artist in the Philippines, hehehe but your critique is right. He is one of my favorite artist for OPm songs but Mori’s voice is just too big lol hard to partner her with just anybody.

I agree with you guys, but for me it's not even about power, it's about timbre. She tends to pair the best with a singing partner whose voice has some of the same richness as hers. Which is why for me, Darren and Daryl tend to be her best partners and not so much Christian or Jason Dy, talented as they are.
Beauty and the Beast and Also A whole new world was supposed to be delivered exactly the way they did it. As they always say, it is not always about power, it is the delivery of the song and how you'll be able to convey the message of the song to the listeners/viewers. Imagine if Christian also sings with so much power same as Mori, the melody of the song won't be that perfect! Kindly watch the original rendition of A whole new world, sang by Lea Salonga and Brad Kane, they did the same thing :)

This dude was singing and not performing. If you knew what that means. Cindy was correct, another guy could be a good fit. Moreso, if to perform side by side with the Queen Phoenix, he or she should bring out the very best in him/her for if not, The Queen will feast on them.

I recommend that you guys react to SB19's Tilaluha performance on their Forte Concert, Stell actually performed his longest high note there if i'm not mistaken. The boys sang it with an orchestra which made the song more emotional to listen to, I recommend it!
I Totally AGREE with CINDY! That was exactly what i thought when I 1st watched MORISSETTE & CHRISTIAN BAUTISTA's "A Whole New World" Duet. It was a let down because STELL's Vocals No matter what Range Is Alway FULL. CB's is a top Filipino Singer but his Voice is pretty "thin"... always.

Just to add a bit more, the "A Night of Wonder" videos, especially that of Morissette and Christian Bautista's entitled "Grand Finale" were Disney's promotional materials done in a grandiose production, with all those lightings and effects, drones, camera angles and drone shots, and music track with drums and all, and the fireworks display towards the end, which is just fitting for today as we celebrate and welcome the New Year with fireworks and grand celebration the world over! 🥰🎉🎆🎇👍

Stell can do the high note but he needs effort to do it since he's a high tenor and not a Soprano. Zephanie did the high note effortlessly because she's a soprano.
And Janella is a mezo-soprano.

As you already know, "Imagine More" is a newly written song by Disney for the promotion of the launching of Disney Plus streaming services in the Philippines, and they chose Morissette to do the interpretation. So, we can proudly say that Mori has now an original Disney song to her credit.🥰
The second video that you reacted was actually released ahead of the first and third videos by a few weeks. The videos of Zephanie, Janella and Stell, as well as that of Christian and Morissette, were released on the same day as the official launching.
Like Cindy, I also had the goosies while watching these three videos, particularly on Morissette singing "Imagine More" and Stell singing "Circle of Life" from the "Lion King". There's something about their singing and their voices. 🥰
Overall, I like all these videos because, like what both of you inferred, there's a Disney in all of us, we practically grew up watching Disney movies, from the animated cartoons of our youth to the live-action films in recent years. It just feels happy and nostalgic hearing these Disney songs again.
Anyway, it has been an amazing year 2022 for all of us, for these Filipino talents, and for you both. We look forward to more of your RV's in the coming 2023! 🥰🌟

That’s what I also noticed.
Nithing against Christian as he’s a fantastic singer but, a duet with Morisette and you’d need to be super exceptional, hold your Fort or be at par with her voice and technicality.
And there we find the big difference.
Mori was levels way above Christian and his voice sounded juvenille and pipsqueeky to the fulness of her voice.
Sorry to say this, it was a wrong match-up and I too wanted more from Christian’s performance.
Charm alone could not save him.

I think Cindy is critizing the mixing more than anything else. Even Stell's song, as amazing as it was, the production and mixing could have been better.
I agree with Cindy about Christian Bautista and Mori. Christian has a good voice, but it was not a good match with Morissette’s voice. I was really disappointed, especially that those 2 songs are some of my favorites! Yes, Stell would have DEFINITELY be able to match Mori, but I was hoping that they would have picked Darren Espanto to sing Christian’s part instead. Darren and Morissette already sang A Whole New World in the Wish Bus before…that was GREAT!
