Just looking at it you could have fooled anyone that it was a smoked brisket! For those of you not quite ready to buy a BBQ pit but want to make brisket - this will get ya started! Thanks CJ!
You got that right Al, I'm not a fan of liquid smoke but if one was inclined, they could use it to make it a lil smoky. Thanks
Looks like it, but won't taste like it.
Genius work here brother. Mother in law brought me a brisket to smoke on vacation and I’m using this. I’ll keep you posted on how it works out

Papa Joe my boyfriend and I have been talking about cooking this brisket we’ve been thawing for DAYS now. Everybody tryna give us advice left and right…we just been looking at em and saying nuh-uh that ain’t what papa Joe said. He knows best. Just now got it in the oven for the first hour! Gracias Sergio, thanks so much for watching.
I live in Idaho and it’s always so cold that my smoker can’t work for 8 months out of the year, so I’m so glad you made this video, it lets me cook all the bbq during the 8 months of winter inside away from the razor cold wind, ice, sleet, hail, snow, just miserable weather. Wish I had the money to move states to bbq more often but this was a great recipie, thank you.
I can totally understand that, the oven really gets it done. Here are some awesome beef and pork ribs also done in the oven! Thanks for watching.

@@mamaandpapajoe definitely will let you know when it happens…great video to watch and it look like it came out good
It looks good and tender.
Thanks a lot Ferdinand, it was a good one.
I live in a condo and can't have a smoker and have used the oven method for years. Try using curing salt to create a fake smoke ring.
I use liquid smoke as a binder. Last time I did a brisket this way, our friends thought it was done on a smoker.
Great suggestions Surfer, the oven really does great work for folks who aren't able to fire up the grill/smoker for whatever reasons. Thanks for watching.
Looks great! I’m gonna give this a try while I’m working out of town and don’t have my smoker.
Hope you enjoy Joe, please let me know how it turns out. Have a happy New year
Amazing!
I will try
It's pretty simple Michael, the recipe cook is outlined in the description box. Thanks for watching.
😋👌🏾 you guys knock this out the park! Frfr.... 🙌🏾
We Appreciate that Librasoul, thanks for watching.
Going to give this a go on the weekend. Brisket at Costco (prime) is 3.99 a pound, and Chuck is 5.99 a pound. All the people making cook Chuck like a steak recipes drove the price up! 😊 I’ll just be eating brisket from now on!
It is a shame that per lb, Chuck is more expensive than brisket Daniah. You're going to love this recipe. Thanks for watching.
I’m gonna try this recipe this sat, for My college bound granddaughters graduation party. 🤞🏽
You're going to love this recipe Lisa, thank you for watching.
Wish me luck sir. 🙏🏽
I’m on hour 3 , it’s Not as flat as yours, but put foil under a bit ago. Thanks so much.🙏🏽
Sounds like you're tracking straight and true!
Thx so much. While prob not as good as yours, the fam loved it. 🙏🏽
Damn Papa Joe you the man. My family loved it. I did everything you said on here. Thank you sir!
My man! I love hearing that. Congrats and thanks for your support.
Great looking briskie there young man! I got one in the extra fridge for the smoker for this Friday. Going to hold over night @ 140ish after its done for my B-day this Saturday. I sincerely hope mine looks and tastes as good as yours!! Mighty fine, mighty fine CJ!
Sounds great Sandbagger 🤣🤣. I know you're going to kill it!

UK 🇬🇧 new sub, gonna try the brisket asap
You're going to love, thanks for watching.
Yeah buddy! That thing looked amazing. The thumbnail got me. That thing looks like an offset brisket!
Much appreciated Zach, a little liquid smoke and it would be impossible to tell.
@@mamaandpapajoe fasho!
I don’t know why anyone would trim any fat from anything, it’s where the best flavor comes from and it keeps the meat moist. Plus it’s plain delicious to eat.
Fat only accents flavor Frank. It provides moisture and the mouthfeel that amplifies the flavor of the muscle tissues. Have you ever tasted beef tallow (brisket fat)? It's favorless. Now take that same tallow in APPROPRIATE amounts and add it to anything and see how it levels up the flavor. Thanks for watching.
wow!
Thanks very much for watching Kent!
Damn I’ve never thought about using my kitchen scissors to clean it up!!! New to your channel keep it up.
It really helps Kropacek! Thanks for watching.
Cooking a Brisket today using my oven for New Years. I will record the process and post it to my You Tube. My channel is not a cooking channel. It is a Lottery channel. I'll let you know how it turns out. Happy New Year.
Awesome! I will definitely be swinging past your channel. Thanks for watching and have a prosperous new ScratchNSpoon!
Wow. Impressive brisket cook CJ. Just goes to show that it is the cook that makes the magic. Pass a slice if you please... =)
You got it Brian, this select was awesome!
Looks good, me personally I never use any seasoning, I let the pit do it and it turns out perfect Everytime
😂😂😂 you're good Louis, that oven is almost 27 years old. It's a simple way to cook a pretty good brisket for those without a grill. Thanks for watching.
When it comes to seasonings, sometimes less is more. It allows the proteins to shine.
Damn CJ other than the lack of a smoke ring like Al said you coulda food me all day long that that was cooked on an outdoor pit especially with that bark great cook 🍻🍻🍻
Thanks Jay, the best select ever!
Mann that was beautiful.
Thanks so much for watching Phoenix.
Im never tried this in an oven. I will do this soon.
It's so simple Lester, thanks for watching.
Hello sports fans! CJ, hope you and Mama are doing well. Question: have you ever done yakitori on the grill? I'd like your thoughts on parts of the chicken that are under utilized (but delicious!)
I have not Cajun but I am interested. I've watch videos of them marinating and cooking gizzard and backs on skewers. Looks delicious. I'd love to do a video once I get some sort of table top grill.
yoooo…. this is crazy…. looks like it was smoked on an offset 🤯🤯🤯! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Egatx, have a merry Christmas.
You my friend are an artist you are a master of meat
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don't know about all that Kevin but thank you so much for watching. Have a happy New Year.
