I never read hatred our jealous and racist comments in these comment sections.everyone seems to be happy for the other guy.isnt it nice to be able to see comments that seem to be so positive?nice job on the video my friend.good luck in the future and God bless.
I think we're happy that others get what we're doing and we become somewhat of a club or community. Yeah, we have become enlighten and know the truth, what is money.
There is never any reason to suspect that you would be lying! You are one of the best doing this and we are learning a lot from you keep up the great videos sir
I don't buy or sell anything at pawnshops. They want near retail for anything they sell and only pay half they value of things they buy. They only wanted to pay five hundred for an ounce of platinum. I only buy at Apmex or a local coinshop.
Yes, pawn shops are the worst for giving any kind of value for anything. I had to do that one time, on a Sunday when all other coin shops were closed. I needed that emergency cash right away, so I sold a lot of gold and silver to a pawn shop. I hated having to do it, and it hurt. A lot. But I had to do what I had to do. I hope never to have to do that again.
What a sweet stack of Morgan’s and Peace dollars. Wow!!! I always loved the look and feel of the old Constitutional silver dollars of the past. The sound and feel of them clanking in your hands....oooohhhh, I am so dang jealous.
even in norway i have 12 of them + 10 half dollars + a handfull quarters i bought from a coin dealer in norway last year that sold them for spot prize becouse he needed the shelf place. i know some of the bigger coin dealers in usa sell to norway but its cind of expencive if you just want a few coins becouse of the premium + freight + exchange rate ++ i stack mostly pure bullion coins say philarmonics since i get lowest premium on them but i have say a silver eagle and maple leaf and so on. but i also collect norwegian memory coins that are 92.5% silver. and some have 60% but most of my silver dont get man handled. hehe BUT THE US JUNK I LOVE TO HANDLE FROM TIME TO TIME. I LOVE THAT THE ARE RELATIVLY BIG
I’m glad I could help you “find” an extra 5.8 Troy in those 100 silver dollars. 😃 I’m a big fan, keep those videos coming! And congrats on reaching your goal!
I think most people prefer the Morgan dollars, but I gotta say I prefer the Peace dollar. From the interpretation of lady liberty to the perched eagle, the design is beautiful. Thanks for sharing the info and that stack is awesome.
I love peace dollars too. They aren't nearly as coveted as morgans because the strikes are generally weak and the details are usually soft, but the design is gorgeous and if you can find a well-struck example they are truly beautiful coins.
I’ve got to have both but the Morgan is my coin of choice. Such history and my is it beautifully detailed. When I look at any old coin I always wonder where it’s been and who might have held it. Fun indeed.
Beautiful collection hope to get there some day but just have 5 ounces right now,I enjoy collecting more than stacking but you have some beautys in your collection!
And I have to agree about avoiding pawn shops. I saw some 90% silver half dollar Kennedy's. Wanted to buy 10 of them & they wanted to charge me $100 after I asked about them. I asked for the weight to calculate if I was getting a fair deal and when I asked the pawn shop tried telling me I shouldn't calculate the weight and ignore the weight to calculate a fair price. So I walked out of there and for sure I'll never do business with them no matter how desperate I get. I'll only go to that pawn shop to do business when hell freezes over or when the crows turn white as doves .
Just for fun walked into the local pawn shop and was laughing when I was seeing ASE's in cull condition for 30 dollars when spot was below 17 dollars a ounce🤣
You know that song by the Bare Naked Ladies? “If I had a Million Dollars 💵 “..........I think it should go a little more like this....”If I Had A Silver Dollar”. I know what I do with a Silver Dollar...stack it neat, stack it tidy, and stack it high....oh yah baby. I keep watching this video, because I just can’t get enough of the stacks of Silver Dollars. I only have about 25 right now, but I’m looking into purchasing a nice little treasure chest, in order to fill it up with Morgan’s & Peace Dollars. Thanks so much for the inspiration.
There is a guy here in Florida, that sells for 10.1 face. Of course it is at 14.23 spot today and looks like it is falling?? I may be wrong but through history 1999 2008 silver got cheap. Economy was hurting but that sure was the time to buy silver. Look at the chart history.
Always shop around. I went to one pawn shop and asked them what they paid for silver, generic the first pawnshops and go pay 40 to 45% of spot. The second shop, which is basically a gun and precious metals type pawnshop actually offered to pay spot. I was astounded! Only drawback when selling your silver generics especially is the shipping cost when sending to a major distributor such as Provident, Apex, And others.
Good to see you out and about again Silver Joker! Value of constitutional is as follows to me is $1.40 face value of 90% is equal to 1 ounce x spot price. This only works with dimes, quarters and halves. You can mix those up any way you like to equal $1.40 face minus what ever wear and tear are on them.
There ain’t nothing in this world that beats the feel, the heft, and the sound of clacking & clanking big heavy silver dollars together. To this addicted stacker, it’s equivalent to a big, chocolatey, syrupy, sweet ice cream 🍨 sundae, without all the calories. Man, 100 silver Constitutional dollars...that’s awesome Joker. Thanks for all these great, informational, and silver-teasing vids. Keep up your great 👍 work, and always...keep on stackin’.
Nothing like the original frosty patina. Of course, the frosty 10c, 25c, and 50c coins have .7234 ASW per dollar, the same as the Latin Monetary Standard for 5 francs. And the dollars have a silver content of .7734 ASW, heavier due to the historical connection to the Mexican 8 reales.
Awesome accomplishment! Dude I said this before you need to host poker night and have those silver dollars are the chips! Straight wild wild west! You are correct those Benji's are not cleaned. What you speak of during your video is not "patina" that would be a tone, but yet it's called mint luster. Luster originates during the minting process due to the way the metal is struck from the center outward. This process creates micro striations, or grooves that reflect the lights in a cartwheel matter when tilted in various positions. This is one of the main components when determining if coins are mint state or not. Other tell tale signs of a cleaning include, hairline scratches in a purposeful matter, lack of or washed out luster, a blueish/grey hue on the coins surface as evidenced by a prior dipping. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah Silver Joker I just got a tube of Benjamin's (20) from U. S Coins here in Houston, and they are awesome. I did the light test and they displayed the same as yours, thanks for the lesson! I met you at Phil's two years ago. Good video, thanks. Keep stacking!
There's a guy by the user name of spegtacular who did a weight comparison of 20 90% silver half dollars for Kennedy's, Franklins & Standing Libertys and there was quite a difference in weight. The Silver Kennedy's had the most weight. The Franklins lost some weight but not much compared to Kennedy's but surprisingly there was a huge difference in weight for the Standing Libertys compared to the Kennedy's. The Standing Libertys lost quite a bit of silver.
Yeah Lucky Winner it seems the older the coin the more wear it suffers. I've talked to several LCS owners and the majority tell me that they're not that concerned with the tiny bit of weight difference a coin has. They will pay their stated price unless it's really bad. The average customer doesn't mind a worn standing liberty or franklin half, if they are buying cull coins, they tell me. Not sure how Apmex, JMbullion, Provident or MCM looks at this but, I would mostly deal with my LCSs anyway. Thanks for the comment and for watching my videos. Keep stacking
Awesome video! One other simple way to calculate junk silver is $1.40 face in any denomination is pretty much one troy ounce of silver. Thanks for the video!
Awesome stack of Constitutional Silver!! The Peace Dollar is my favorite design on a coin. Thanks for the great knowledge on how to sell your stack back to the LCS.
Keep up the good work. I know someone who managed a pawn shop.....buyers/sellers beware! You can always get a loan on them and pick them up within 90 days (plus interest) if you need some short term cash. But they're not going to loan you spot. Be careful, mindful, and always try and speak with the manager regarding the loan if you need one. The junior workers don't have the power to loan you a little more than you can receive (for the most part). But the more you borrow the more you have to pay back. I'm probably preaching to the choir?
I have to say this! And that is I am so envious of how you have accomplished your numismatic prowess towards your collections of Silver coins! I am on my way towards that same horizon with my collection! I have Copper Lincolns and (Silver Eagles My Favorite) and new to my collection are the one ounce to five ounce Silver Bars! Now I have just begun to post videos on youtube, A little bit of the jitters because I am new to this online posting of videos! with only two posts to the good so far! I watch your videos most of the time! Keep up the great work that you are doing! and great fortunes to you as well! (BJSilverman21plus) I love the Constitutional Silver from my LSC!!
Thanks for this comment my friend. I'm glad that you decided to post videos. You are going to really enjoy it. I'm on my way over to visit your channel right now. Thanks for watching. Keep stacking
💯 to you S.JOKER ! GREAT VIDEO! Man in 2024 sept. I just got my 1 roll of pre- 21 morgan B.U . Bucks. Man 💯 seeing your rolls of buck ! Makes me want to another! Love them clean looking Benny Franklin's. Love to have a few rolls of them ! Or a G.h. box. Full . Maybe one day .
Two addional points. One is if you sell to someone online. You Pay for shipping and alot of the weight is dead/worthless you are paying for. Two- if you wait till prices have made a major jump up, the refners will be over capacity and your LCS or online buyer may not want your junk silver because they cannot get it to the refinery period. Refiners capacity is for normal amounts of material. When a surge of material comes in they cannot just add more smelters for a temporary upswing in product. Point one and two are some reasons you might wish to stack generic when you are done playing around with junk silver. There is a reason the industry calls it junk silver but we seem to call it constitutional silver.
I had a pawn shop that's within walking distance from me and they wanted $18 per face for 90%. I listed three LCS nearby that each were $12-$12.5 per face. And the owner of the pawn shop then go to them. Before I could say anything else he hanged up on me.
Thanks for watching my video harryzero. Let's take an average Morgan silver dollar. (Peace Dollars are calculated exactly the same) The weight is .77345 of a troy ounce. At current spot price ($15.67) gives a dollar value, for a Morgan, of $12.12 US. Which translates to an asking price of $12.73 and a bid price of $11.51. Now this will change obviously as spot changes but this formula is how I determine the value of my 90% silver dollars and, what I'm willing to pay for them or, sell them for. Hope that helps. Keep stacking my friend
One question I have is this..... If you are buying for basically bullion value of silver, what difference does it make how "nice" it looks? You handle rounds very gently, but all you get when you sell is the value of the silver.
Your right Jim. The value is in the weight unless it's a graded coin. Some people, if they find a cool looking or very clean coin with the original luster, like to try to keep it that way. Not so much to preserve the value but to try to keep it looking good. Thanks for the comment my friend. Keep stacking
I do coin roll hunting I’ve only ever done like 120$ in it only dimes and found one dime, and found one I’m change, so that’s only 2 silver coins each dimes 😢.
Well done, On getting to 100 silver dollars. The Franklin's are very nice (my favorite coin). Provident has 40% Kennedy half dollars on sale at spot this weekend.
Not trying to be a know it all at all, but even if it has full mint luster, if it is older and blast white, it almost certainly has been dipped. Which is mostly acceptable for most in the coin community. BUT 100% if the coin has been mechanically cleaned with a rag or finger, then the luster will break like you explain.
There’s lots of coin shows around me where people who pay spot for their Morgan’s and peace dollars will sell them $5 above spot at said shows definitely a good hustle
I’ve bought my whole stack from a local pawn shop. Haven’t added any in a while but they were selling for $2 over spot. Probably a lot higher now though.
Never thought of that. I guess I need to start. Just never been that important to me. I could be sitting on a fortune. Lol Thanks for watching my videos. Keep stacking
House Resolution states that all previous metal coinage will be .999 purity. It would take a PM specialist and a Mathematician at each register to process Junk, Rounds and Bars. Junk will not be trusted because it will have been intermixed with our current coinage.
Just starting watching your videos and enjoy them. I have a good relationship with my LCS and get some good deals too. Thats a great price for the Kennedys. Curious what he sold you the Peace dollars for?
Where is the best place that extracts silver from mixed metel. What is the percentage they get per oz. do they get for their service? Probably depends on how much they extra s. Does any company let you have your original silver back or do they just pay you what it's worth? Then you can use that capital gain to buy silver from them?? Thank you peace and love
Well it's my understanding that it's really not practical, at the moment, to extract pure silver from "junk" silver, or 90% silver dollars. They are sold and bought as 90% silver unless they are graded. This means that they (silver buyers) pay what is an accepted price for your constitutional silver. I don't believe silver dealers make a way for you to buy back the exact coins you sale to them. If you go to a pawn shop, which I strongly urge you not to do, you can borrow a certain amount and use your silver as collateral against your lone. In that scenario the pawnbroker will put your exact silver items away so when you pay back your lone you get your silver back. Buying or investing in silver is like any other investment, you want to buy low and sell high. Silver specifically and precious metals generally, are long term investments. Most silver stackers enjoy collecting silver. The fact that it's got value and, it's a safe place to store some of your wealth, is an added bonus. I hope that helps you a little Yaudi. Thanks for watching my video. Keep stacking
You certainly put my silver collection to shame. Lol.😂 Love the video, excellent content. New to the channel, Subbed.. 😏 Out of curiosity, how much did the Franklin tube cost, bud ? If you don't mind me asking... Love from Bonnie Scotland.. 🤗
JUNK SILVER CAN NOT BE USED AS PRECIOUS METAS CURRENCY. PRECIOUS METALS CURRENCY MUST BE .999 PURITY. THIS IS A HOUSE RESOLUTION. 80 % JUNK WILL BE REJECTED AS PM CURRENCY.
I just checked a Silver Dollar is .7734 troy oz. ASW (actual silver weight) a silver dollar weighs 26.73 grams X .9 equals 24.057 g that is the amount of silver in a silver dollar 1 oz of silver weighs 31.103 grams now divide the amount of grams in the Silver Dollar by the amount of grams in a silver ounce this gives you the percentage of silver in the ounce so 24.057 divided by 31. 103 equals .77346......... so you even have more silver than you thought

Agreed. Such a lovely cummunity.
Just helping each other out on the silver stacking journey bud. Wealth is freedom.
I agree. The Silver and Jeep communities are like this. They see you and they just know you are part of the community.
There is never any reason to suspect that you would be lying! You are one of the best doing this and we are learning a lot from you keep up the great videos sir
.715 per $ face doesnt apply to peace/morgans. Dollars are .77
I don't buy or sell anything at pawnshops. They want near retail for anything they sell and only pay half they value of things they buy. They only wanted to pay five hundred for an ounce of platinum. I only buy at Apmex or a local coinshop.
Yeah but how many people go in to pawn shops asking for ounces of platinum
@@jkjames5051 I walked into a local pawnshop looking for silver or gold, saw the price tags, said to myself, “what the fuck?” And walked out. Haha.
So he'll need 140 of those to have 100 troy ozs of silver.
Yes, pawn shops are the worst for giving any kind of value for anything. I had to do that one time, on a Sunday when all other coin shops were closed. BUT THE US JUNK I LOVE TO HANDLE FROM TIME TO TIME. I LOVE THAT THE ARE RELATIVLY BIG
The .715 Troy works for dimes, quarters and halves per dollar face. But the silver dollars are .773 Troy
That's What I Was Going To Say
You're absolutely right Three Nines. My mistake. Thanks for pointing that out. Keep stacking my friend
I’m glad I could help you “find” an extra 5.8 Troy in those 100 silver dollars. 😃 I’m a big fan, keep those videos coming! And congrats on reaching your goal!
I am glad you guys corrected this before me as I was going to.
Thanks for the tip on how to tell if a cleaning has been done. Like the music too ! Nice groove
Great job, wish we could get it at 11$ face now...lol
I think most people prefer the Morgan dollars, but I gotta say I prefer the Peace dollar. From the interpretation of lady liberty to the perched eagle, the design is beautiful. Thanks for sharing the info and that stack is awesome.
Yes !! The Peace $ is sublime, the standing Liberty 25C and the $5 ,10 and $20 gold coins from 1907 to 1929/33. *~:)
Fun indeed.
$1.40 in 90% junk silver change is one Troy ounce for anyone wondering 😁
No matter what denomination of coin you have?
Yep! It could be a dollar coin and 4 dimes. As long as they are all 90% silver. NO WAR NICKELS!!! 😂
My coin dealer gets annoyed when I buy $14 face and he has to break up his $10 bags. Every. Time. Lol
@@shagggadoo I'm just gonna start to get these, but wondering why, your dealer gets upset about $14.00
@@57jauar lol just because he has to break up his nice little $10 bags he's already counted out.

Love those Benjis! Thanks for the information!

Thanks for the insight, S.J.. Perfect way to start my Saturday. Thanks!
Why not just use the good old formula that 90% silver in $1.40 face value is a troy ounce?
I like constitutional silver too, but what percent do you like to try to keep as a goal (break down) in each -dimes, quarters and halves? Thanks
Always shop around. I went to one pawn shop and asked them what they paid for silver, generic the first pawnshops and go pay 40 to 45% of spot. I think the silver weight content of silver dollars is higher van have quarters and dimes. Relative to a dollar.

The Morgan and Peace Silver dollars are different weight than dimes, quarters and halfs. Each other contains .7734 Troy ounces of silver.

I had a pawn shop that's within walking distance from me and they wanted $18 per face for 90%. I listed three LCS nearby that each were $12-$12.5 per face. And the owner of the pawn shop then go to them. Before I could say anything else he hanged up on me.
what a beautiful stack! 100 of those dollars look really nice!
How does the net silver content relate to what you pay for each dollar coin.
Easier to divide FV by 1.4. That gives you ounces and is easier to remember.
How do you test them.....Weight/ magnet?????I really enjoy the videos
I test their silver tonsite before I buy
I test their silver tonsite before I buy
I have access to a precious metals verifier. Thanks for watching my videos. Keep stacking
Well done, On getting to 100 silver dollars. The Franklin's are very nice (my favorite coin). Provident has 40% Kennedy half dollars on sale at spot this weekend.
Very informative, SJ! Thanks for the video. I"m subscribed.
Nice additions to your stack!
Thank you for sharing that .715 rule. Keep on stacking!!!!
I love the Morgans. You've been stacking it deep here lately. I've enjoyed watching your progress. Beautiful Benji's as well bro. Keep on stacking!! ✌
how do you test silver?
those are so clean! WOW, those look uncirculated!
Maybe your camera is just really good. The edges look crisp and sharp.
Thank you for the info. Where does .715 come from? I’m curious I don’t really know anything about junk silver.
There’s lots of coin shows around me where people who pay spot for their Morgan’s and peace dollars will sell them $5 above spot at said shows definitely a good hustle
Super video...Thanks again for super Information...continued success...
Morgans and Peace Dollars have a different value, depending upon the year. 1878-1904 and in 1921, thy contain .77344 Troy ounce.
Awesome, congrats on the goal. I just added 7 American eagles yesterday, have a ways to go to my goal. Keep stacking my friend!
Hello my friend!!! Fantastic video!!! Super LIKEEEEE 👌👌👍👍👍
I’ve bought my whole stack from a local pawn shop. Haven’t added any in a while but they were selling for $2 over spot. Probably a lot higher now though.
"Used Silver" sounds nicer.
Constitutional Silver is the preferred term.
It’s always been called Constitutional Silver. Bankers came up with the term “Junk Silver”.
Those Franklin's Look Awesome Do You Ever Search For Errors On Your Coins?
Well Big Jim, I left that price out purposely. Phil sells his silver dollars for a great price. Thanks for watching my friend. Keep stacking
My LCS sells them $16 each
So glad I found you!
Great info!
Thanks for watching my videos Joanna. I'm glad you found me to. Keep stacking 🙂
Great video, Joker, very helpful, thank you.
Those Benjis are beautiful
JUNK SILVER CAN NOT BE USED AS PRECIOUS METAS CURRENCY.
PRECIOUS METALS CURRENCY MUST BE .999 PURITY.
THIS IS A HOUSE RESOLUTION. 80 % JUNK WILL BE REJECTED AS PM CURRENCY.
Congrats reaching 100 silver dollars 👍
E R I K my goal too bro
How much did you pay for that 1963 Franklin roll?
Money used to be so much cooler. Those coins look in great shape!
Dang those Frankies are pretty!! And that last Morgan too.
Did you pay a pretty premium on them?
You have a very very good conditions of old coins. Love it. How can i have those as well?😊
I just checked a Silver Dollar is .7734 troy oz.
