  • I Come To The Garden Alone. Public domain Christian hymn song. Relative to Lent, Good Friday, and Easter. Arrangement and Performance by dwCrooner. The Audio only file version of "I Come To The Garden Alone by dwCrooner" is posted at the Audiomack website.
In the Christian Holy Bible at John 20:1-18 there is an account of Mary Magdalene, the first human being to see and hear the voice of the newly risen Jesus Christ at his tomb after sunrise on the first Easter Sunday morning. This song, I Come To The Garden Alone (that I have modeled after the Elvis Presley version released in 1967) looks at the core basis of the Christian faith from the mortal human perspective of Mary Magdalene and what she personally experienced that first Easter Sunday morning two millennia ago.
Composed by Charles A. Miles, 1913
    Lyrics:
I come to the garden alone,
While the dew is still on the roses,
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
    The Son of God discloses.
    CHORUS:
And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
    And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
    None other has ever known.
He speaks, and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
    Within my heart is ringing.
I’d stay in the garden with Him,
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.
