So for those of us men who like Asian women, there are Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai, Filipina, and many other women from Asian countries. So we have many choices. My favorite is Korean women because I think that they have beautiful faces and I like Korean culture, K-pop, K dramas, Korean food and Korean women’s traditional hanbok and modern Korean hanbok. I love the wrap-around gathered skirts with wide banded waists and fabric ties (that can be untied easily, very sexy!) But to each his own, and I am not ruling out falling in love with a woman from any of the other Asian nationalities.
Pretty good advice Miss Jo. It took me awhile to figure these things out. Because at the time we were going together I lived in Alaska so I bought Alaskan style jewelry like jade, ivory etc but I learned gold nugget jewelry did the trick. More than gifts now I give her red envelope so she can buy what she want. Of course I leave a romantic note with it. Now she prefers flowers that I pick myself so I grow roses daisies sunflowers etc but when I go out and pick a bouquet attach a red envelope and her favorite candy it makes her clothes fall off. I’m still learning.
I love how Jo is like "maximum $100. If you can't afford $100, then why you want girlfriend?" I'm sitting here like $100 for food, $100 flowers and chocolate, $100 massage, $200 jewelry, and a dress. That's more than $500 for 5 days of happiness. Now she wants to take an unforgettable trip....my wallet hates me.
I'm glad you came up with various tiers of gifts. I've found that any gift that makes her life easier works. dinner etc. however, never forget about the gold, flowers, and chocolates. they really are special and when received, they are always very much appreciated regardless of the cost. take care Jo
Hello Jo, and thank you for sharing. My Chinese wife would prefer for me not to buy her anything! When I have bought gifts for her in the past, she tells me not to "waste money." She does like cash gifts! Keep being funny!
Exactly what my Thai-Chinese wife would say, don't buy me anything, put in a CD! Never was good at giving her gifts. When 45 years ago when we were married only a year or two I went to Dubai with my Singapore Chinese business partner and he FORCED me to buy a pair of gold earing's at the local gold market for my wife, the price of which he bargained for me in FRENCH! Arab and Chinese = French? The Arab was Syrian. She LOVED them! He being Chinese knew what she would like. A decade later when I was CIA I used to travel through Africa for Uncle Sam and would come back with local semi-precious stone jewelry, she liked none. Today I am 70 and she 71, our idea NOW of a great gift is a 5qt brand name air fryer on sale at Ollie's for $19.95 at 5am on Black Friday! ALL Chinese love gold and money but NOTHING and I mean NOTHING turns Chinese WOMEN on more than a BARGAIN!
About choosing jewelry or clothing - I have no confidence in my being able to choose something she would like. It is often said, "It's the thought that counts," but that's not really true. I was raised to believe that giving money shows that you don''t care enough to spend the time to give a gift you picked out but from what you say, it seems like the safest route to give something that will be appreciated. Thank you for your insights.
You are so right, my wife and I are so different on how to buy things, she is all about the high end logos, which i don't know much about them but i am putting in an effort to learn, and me, the idea of a good brand is Ford, Levi's, or adidas. But I am learning, and it makes me happy to see how much she loves these items. But i must tell you she loves the most how much i am trying and how much i think of her❤
I’m just too practical. I can see and appreciate high quality, but so many of these astronomically expensive brands offer zero improved or sometimes worse quality than other brands. I will pay for quality but I do not agree with spending extra just for the sake of it. You are just as well off lighting it on fire.
Really, anything that demonstrates to her you are thinking about her even when apart. For example I had installed my girlfriend’s favorite pinyin keyboard (not a default one) on my phone. One day she was having trouble with her phone so I switched the keyboard and handed mine to her. She started to hand the phone back saying she couldn’t use it but then I pointed to the screen. She was stunned that I had installed it, the look on her face was priceless and yes she bragged to her friends what 他的小老外 had done. Not a physical/material gift, but a gift of caring and was very appreciated.
If she takes a picture of your gift straight away and sends it to her friend you know it’s a winner . Expensive bottle of wine , Jo Malone perfume and money .
Same with them. It's a general culture diaspora given they're neighbors that have influenced each other for thousands of years and have many shared core values.
Very nice Jo! That's excellent information and thank you for taking the time to enlighten us on gifts to give. Lol......US dollar, not RNB! And yes, the traditional dress is amazing! Do you have one? ❤DooDoo
What about a hand made jewelry? There are amazing jewelries made with beads; would it be appropriate to give it as a present? I appreciate your videos ❤
Good advice. IMHO it is no different from what you'd do for an American GF (except they may prefer European travel). 谢谢 Jo!几周后我会去深圳见一个朋友,给她带些礼物,然后和她一起去京都过圣诞假期,在那里给她买些珠宝和化妆品
You had it right from the beginning to materialistic. She paste his value on the relationship based on the cost and price of a gift and it’s a very shallow relationship very selfish. However, some of the gift suggestions are excellent.
My girlfriend is from Chongqing, every 13th of each month I send her a bouquet of flowers because that day we started our relationship. Also, I usually try to buy a piece of jewelry, shoes, dresses, handbags, or money transfers (as American I cannot send money thru wechat). I guess that I'm not doing so bad after watch your video. Thank you
Hallo JoJo, nice to see you again. Thanks for your explanations. Of course, it always depends on personal taste. Wedding rings must be gold, yes. Personally, I find Jade very beautiful. Or there is an island near me (Helgoland) where there is granite that is only and exclusively there. And it is also sold as jewelry. I think the book is a great idea. Take care and see you :)
Buying name bags is like buying an expensive meal and throwing half of it away (it means more in China). And you can get your Chinese girl friend gold and she will point out it is only 14 carat. She wants 24 carat gold jewelry (which you can’t get in the USA). I asked my jeweler and she said they don’t make it with 24 carat gold. Even 22 carat won’t do.
If she points out it is "only 14 carat" then she is also dumb. Jewelry has to be sturdy enough to be worn. And some of the most beautiful jewelry is 14 carat. 24 is too soft for jewelry. You CAN buy 24K in the US. What she is really telling you is to give her a pile of cash because that is what it is - bullion. I would say she is failing the test.
Dear Jo Moon. Could you please make a video about Chinese Terms of Endearment (what am I supposed to call her? Honey? Darling? Sweetheart? Sweetie? Cupcakes?)? Thanks so much! It would be awesome if you could write Chinese characters in your response because I am learning Mandarin to understand my girlfriend better since we have a huge communication gap.
This is partially true, they will want all of those things that she mentioned, but some Chinese woman will be perfectly content with a $300 purse,it doesn’t have to be expensive, but it can not be cheap( this is true). Source: my Chinese girlfriend.
LOL Im married to one, when she was my girl friend yes your comments are true. Once married and years later she is a tiger mum and she wants everything for the kids. She no longer wants any gold jewelry! Everything for the kids! My 10k a month goes to those little rats! How life changes!
You had it right from the beginning to materialistic. She paste his value on the relationship based on the cost and price of a gift and it’s a very shallow relationship very selfish.
An invitation to a dinner at the Ultraviolet in Shanghai worked well for me and my wife. Just need to be willing to spend the 13.6k CNY for it but this is highly recommendable.
I wouldn’t spend on bags, but definitely buy for her a Hanfu, take pics of her and take her on vacation. Material stuff is temporary, traveling together and wearing something traditional is more about the experience. Let’s not be too materialistic, people are way too influenced by socials these days.
Many Chinese women believe in more money you spend the more you love her. Very materialistic world , at the end don’t be surprised if they tell you “ no money , no honey “ Once money is not enough they will complain and make uncomfortable moments.
"Thai massage... but not the dirty ones."...That is so funny. Makes me laugh. Imagine bringing your girlfriend to a massage parlour, and your masseuse ask you "Happy ending, sir?"...and your girlfriend is on the next massage bed.

Buy the bags, dresses for me and I will first call you a money waster and return it to get the cash, the cash will be invested in stocks, I will nag you though to save for a house, and he money will go in that, for renovation to make a comfortable nice home for us both.

I conclude I can't afford a girlfriend. Good to know now.
Thai girls is cheaper if you want . If you don’t won’t to pay just go for a western girl but then you get doms feminist equality too 😂
That’s universal 🤣
Hire a maid, lot cheaper, always "yes sir and ok sir" ask her am I handsome? Always Yes Sire. Less then $200 a month.
Thanks for the comedy. You are too precious. 🤣

sounds like a shopping list - I just walked out of the shop.
At 2800$ an ounce for gold she gets silver.
I am asking because I started dating a Chinese lady. What should I budget a month to keep her happy?

Very good information, but where can I find a Chinese woman. Over here they work in family restaurants and only date Chinese men
*burst of laughter* xd very funny video
We can handle the truth.
lol
Chinese girls make the best wives but they WILL drive you crazy. Just the way they are. But they smell SO good!

American Gold still not good enough sometimes,......"it's not 99.9%" Learned that from my Chinese wife.
😂 try explaining how pure gold is never used in jewelry because in that form it is too soft and would simply fall apart. Yeah… don’t.
😆
