- “Mr. Hoover and Mr. Smith” by Billy Jones and Ernest Hare 1928
This video is being launched in 2020 which is perhaps the most continuous presidential election year ever. This comedic song harkens back to a much kinder and much friendlier time in USA history. It makes the year 2020 seem all the more crazy when you see how civilized the 1928 election actually was. The Happiness Boys, Billy Jones and Ernest Hare, do a great and funny job with this satirical song during a presidential election.

VERY topical political song, recorded on July 21, 1928. In November, Hoover defeated Smith by over 6 million votes.......and 357 Electorial votes. Hoover carried every state [including Smith's home state of New York] except Arkansas, Louisiana, Misisisippi, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Massachusetts.
Alabama and Georgia were very close in that election and almost voted for Herbert Hoover. Al Smith also won Rhode Island in addition to the aforementioned states.
