As European, who was taught about democratic example EU sets for the world, there I was in India, learning how Christmas is one of the official holidays, while in Germany most of people mixed hindu and hindi terms, not to mention that there was no knowledge of religions in India! The other examples of racism and discrimination I have witnessed I do not even want to mention (from people, I would even say less, as I have met many nice and opened people, bit from the system and corporations, Germany and EU still have a very long way to go before they become democratic ideal they preach to the others)
