Thanks for giving intro to informatica. I think as an etl tester you just need to validate the source to target data. Check the data definition. Business requirements ie filters, joins, etc. Its more of sql query. Brd vs implementation. For informatica you Can check the company standards for mapping name, objects, workflow, Mapping definitions. Etc.
As a ETL Tester do we need follow all these steps as you mentioned in video? or If yes then what is the developer job in informatica. Please clarify on this. Thank you!!!
Yes we to do all these steps what i mentioned in video because already developer had made these things ,then afterwards again developer had sent you to what you have to do I mean to check,as you have stm doc accordingly you have to extract source and target and apply business logic and check whether it's loaded properly or not
No, its not an informatica testing. you are asking about ETL testing so in etl testing in most of the Datawarehouse projects testers even dont get the chance to look the actual code of informatica.can have access to monitor to view logs otherwise not the actual code.have to work on database /Unix/schedulers only.sql master pls guide people with good information.everyone reaches where they have to but if someone makes path easy for them with appropriate guidence ,they may reach bit early.STM doc will be provided either by BA/test lead/PO to testers which will explain all the logics and required source n target mapping explaination.
What is the use of etl tester. You have created source transformation and load
