  • Today I'm giving you the first TTRPG Project Update since I announced the project. I'm officially starting off on some fieldwork, which means looking for groups to play with, reading TTRPG books, listening to actual play podcasts, and, of course, interviewing people! I chat about what the interview process is from an ethics standpoint, and explain how you can sign up for your very own interview!

Okay, howdy again! I think Dimension 20 will be a little easier to get into than Critical Role because their episodes are much shorter and so are their campaigns. If you don't mind not getting in to a big arc with Critical Role, I'd suggest checking out their Exandria Unlimited: Calamity run. It's four episodes long. Um, the shortest run time for an episode in that is like 4 hours while the longest episode is around 6 hours long lol. But it is SO GOOD (I have a line from it tattooed on my body so I might be biased) and about as "bite size" as CR gets. You also don't really need to know much about the world going into it. They also have a new series with a TTRPG they created called Candela Obscura and those campaigns are shorter run, I think 3-4 episodes. I've only watched a couple episodes though.
Lol, sorry to spam your comments again. I am going to share this with some of my friends who play and DM to see if they'd like to interview with you. :B
Do you have any gaming shops near you? I know around here those shops will often host game nights where they'll play D&D or other TTPRGs. Same with a couple of the comic stores near me. If you don't mind playing at an online table, I think those might be easier to come by. There are so many discords dedicated to TTRPGs that you could join.
Oh. Another podcast I listen to isn't an actual play but the hosts talk about so many aspects of being at a table. It's called Table Talk (linkin.bio/tabletalkrpg/ ) not sure if that will be of any help, but I thought I'd share it lol. Okay, I'll shut up now.
