With #2, I ALWAYS thought there was something down there. I purposely jumped down to see and I noticed the ominous path beneath the darkness. As an eight year old playing the three level OEM version of Tomb Raider 2 on PC, I kept telling my siblings there's gotta be something down there and a way down without dying, but my silly butt couldn't figure it out and gave up. It isn't until 2010 (when I was fifteen) I watched ItalianGuy99's Tomb Raider 2 videos on TH-cam did I find out the correct way to climb down, and my mind was so blown away by the secret pathway down the ladder and the two t-rexes + gold dragon secret. I was bummed out that I spoiled myself doing that without figuring it out sooner, but at the same time I was filled with joy knowing how right I was seven years prior. 😆 So yeah, I'm so happy you put that secret from The Great Wall as #2 on this list my man! 😄
Haha, aww, that's too bad, but at least you got the right idea back then 😉 That secret is so incredibly awesome, and might just as well have been the first place on this list. I love how Core Design just went completely nuts with that opening level in every single regard, including it's secrets 😂 It's such a "Welcome to the Tomb Raider sequel everybody, things are going to be a little crazier here ☺️"
Excellent. Looking forward to checking some of these Secrets in the remasters, as I only have standard classic games on PlayStation. I'm not sure if Gold editions were available for PAL format.
The Gold editions were only released for PC, and I don't think very many people played them, because they were so obscure. You are in for a treat if you have never played them before, as they are absolutely amazing!

After a few several release of TR, people will still always remember the 1st one. Its amazing. I was shocked at the piramid parr you said theres something at the top and sure it was not glitching, there was an invisible path, i have never came accross it, sigh!
Nice video. Nevertheless, considering I've never ever played a single TR spinoff, my top 10 would be crazily different. 😂 (Nearly all of yours come from bonus games). Still, the T-Rex pit in TR2's opening level is absolutely insane. I remember discovering it back then when I was about 11~12 years old, and it blew my mind. I had no idea what was about to happen but I was scared as F. Even during the climb down on that ladder. (I think I nearly shat my pants when the dinosaur appeared) 😂
Thank you! Yeah, I just had to include all these secrets from the expansions, because so much care have been put into that part of the games, compared to the main games, where the secrets are less spectacular. Highland Fling does have the real Nessie too: the one in the lake can be spotted in the secret area just before the mechanical Nessie cave: if you jump over the quicksand very carefully to trigger her without falling in, you can see the real Nessie taking a mud bath in the quicksand. She doesn’t attack Lara and only makes sparks when she breaths unlike the mechanical one. I thought this secret was inspired by the same fire breathing mechanical dinosaur plot in the season 3 episode of The Raccoons, Monster Mania, but in one of Ash’s developer streams, the developers themselves revealed it was just a coincidence. I also didn’t know about Stephenson’s Rocket IRL and thought the steam engine secret was The Evergreen 504 from another episode of the same show. (The Evergreen Express) I learned about the actual train from Stella’s 2012 or so update to her Lost Artefact walkthrough. Also, I don’t think that’s seawater she’s pumping into the toxic goo pit to reach the Forgotten World secret: she’s using the disk in a porta potty, so she’s clearing flushing all the toilets and filling the pit with raw sewage.
Yeah, I'm aware of that other Nessie as well, but I just assumed that was another Nessie machine (also, there's something glitchy about it, somehow, as if it wasn't meant to be there). Ewww! Isn't it too clear to be raw sewage though!? Yikes, I really hope it isn't meant to be that 🤢

@@AxMania Go ahead: I don’t blame you because while it’s true it’s sewage, a high dive into poo isn’t that glamorous and the water in those toilets had to come from somewhere. The salt probably cleans it a little.
Thanks for clarifying it’s a reupload. I reiterate my comments from the original upload in that the silver dragons are made of silver, not stone (as they use a precious mineral theme) and that my top secrets include most of Lost Artefact’s ones such as the open sea with dolphins in Sleeping with the Fishes, Stephenson’s Rocket & magma chamber in Shakespeare Cliff, Nessie in Highland Fling and the zoo street and beach in It’s a Madhouse. From the main game proper there’s the stealth diver section in Lud’s Gate’s sewers, the drill chase in Aldwych and the big timed run in Lost City of Tinnos.
This was a staggering video! My favorite secret is the gold dragon in The Great Wall Of China exhibited in Tomb Raider 2. There was zero logical motivation for the composers to place 2 Tyrannosaurus Rex under The Great Wall Of China, but they did anyway. And i love that: part of why i adore Tomb Raider as a franchise is because, especially the early games are so nonsensical and preposterous: it just so happens that our businesswoman turns out to be a psychopathic Atlantean queen,it just so happens that there are invisible platforms leading to a dragon ornament, statues come to life, dinosaurs are present in unnatural places, etc. I think this stupidity adds such an endearing feeling to the franchise.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it, and that's obviously an excellent pick for your favorite secret 😉 Hahaha, I love this comment, because it's so true! The first three Tomb Raider games are just bonkers! The Last Revelation felt like a somewhat drier and more grounded game.
Here's a video suggestion for you: get all trophies in the expansion packs of TR 1-3 Remaster. Yes, you have platinum on each game but do you have all trophies for expansions(Unfinished business, Golden mask, Lost artefact)? If not could you do a road to all trophies video?
Thank you for this suggestion, I have thought about it, but my Tomb Raider III Platinum Trophy video didn't do very well, so I think I need to mix up my content a little bit. I'll be back with Tomb Raider content in October, and maybe I'll do this video some day. I'm not sure. TR3 is amazing. It was the one I spent most of my time on as a kid. I didn't play TR2 until after 3 for some reason. I found 3 easier than 2 but that was only due to the time I'd spent playing 3.
Same here. I think if you are used to the way 3 was, 2 is very different, because it's so much more combat-oriented, which is difficult in a much different way than 3.
@@AxMania Lara also drops a reference to The Fly during Antarctica (even though the levels are clearly more reminiscent of The Thing!) There must have been a film geek on the team for this one.
Yeah, it's such a shame it's not more easily available ☹️ Btw, I saw your comment on my Lion King video as well, but I had to change the video due to fear of a copyright claim from Disney, but yes: The rewind feature in the remaster was crucial for me to be able to record all that footage! 😅 I don't know what I would've done without it.

Hi Ax, I found your channel recently and loving your videos. I have a question, the first tomb raider level I ever played was in 4, and it's not a level I've ever been able to find. I remember a scorpion pit where you find a revolver, I remember a large block in the middle of the room where ninjas spawned if you climbed up to get the medpak. Does this sound familiar? Edit: Playable Tutorial Level in 4 is the level I was looking for
Ahh, yes, I was just about to say, but I see you found it yourself. That's a fun little level, and I really like that scorpion room, it's so cinemsatic! Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate it!

Ah, a reupload! I was wondering how else you can spin this topic :D Well, I'm afraid I won't be able to replicate my comment from the previous video, but I can still watch it again :)
Tomb Raider 3 can be finished with 60 of 59 Secrets as there is an extra Secret on the Coastal Village level giving a total of 4 of 3 on the statistics screen
I'm very gratified you picked so many secrets from The Lost Artefact, which I believed I mentioned before is my favourite of the Gold packs. Certainly looking forward to seeing how it shapes up in the Remaster, that's for sure. (=^_^=)
Oh yeah, nothing did secrets better than The Lost Artefact in my opinion. I love that the secrets are their own little side areas with unique sights, enemies and so on.
Something I realized recently - the orca tank secret is unrealistic. Orcas are mammals, therefore they need to occasionally surface and breathe, otherwise they would drown just as land-based mammals would. So if these Area 51 orcas really spend most of their time locked inside this water tank with no place to surface for air, they'd be long dead by the time Lara meets them. The same is true for the dolphin in "Sleeping with the Fishes" - how does it stay alive without surfacing to breathe?
Haha, that's an excellent (and very tragic) point! What a horrifying thought 😂 It would've been an easy thing to fix for the level designers as well. They could have added open space above the tanks.
I hated Tomb Raider 2's secrets because if you didn't find all three of them you got nothing, so for a casual player who didn't know where the secrets were they just felt like a waste of time. At least in other games when you find only a few of the secrets it feels more worth it because you still get some of the stuff. Get 2/3 secrets in Tomb Raider 1, 3 and 4 you at least feel like you did something as you have more ammo and medpacks, but in 2 if you only have 2 of the secrets it's just been a waste of time.
I love them, but I totally get you. They are indeed useless if you don't find all of them. I just love the concept of each level having the same three figurines. I do think Tomb Raider II has the easiest secrets overall too, so there's a bigger chance of finding all three in a level in this game, than finding all secrets in a level in the first game and Tomb Raider III. But yeah, the all-or-nothing thing is not the best.
Actually, regarding the armory secret, i don't mean to be offensive, but you were partially wrong. Here, let me put it this way. It can still be obtained "technically" as I've noticed the bunch of keys appears on the ground next to the scorpion after killing the guard (if you look at the bottom right after the body explodes into pieces). So yeah, there's no need to worry even if players blow up the guard completely by accident.
I'm pretty sure that's a different set of keys, called Guard's Keys, which are needed for completing the level. The Armory Key just appears in Lara's inventory, if she manages to kill the scorpion before it kills the guard. I think 😅
Think the trex chasm was referenced in Mario Odyssey as an easter egg? The Tomb raider secret and the Steam Gardens secret look similar, dinosaur(s) and all
I found TR3 to be the worst when it comes to secrets. So many of them were impossible to find without following a walkthrough. The secret would be hidden befind a "illusion" barrier in a place you would have no reason whatsoever to "explore" by going head into or literally jumping into it.
Yeah, I agree. The secrets in that game were not nearly as enjoyable to collect as in the previous two games. My favorite is Tomb Raider II, as I think collecting the three dragon figurines is a fun way to do it.
13:30 Wait so that was supposed to be going back in time? I dunno I never questioned why there was lava everywhere and I never questioned the dinosaurs since.... You know... They are not exactly extinct in any of the first 3 TR games.

Original tr games are quite depressing, still I play them from time to time haha. Your tr passion is one of a kind
Haha, depressing? 😃 Well, I think I can see what you mean actually. They are very lonely, in a way.
I enjoy your content. It’s so relaxing
Thank you so much, I'm really happy to hear that!
Excellent can never have to much Ax ❤
Even redone videos 😊
Aww, thank you so much, I really appreciate it! 🥰
Top 10 Top 10 Tomb Raider Secrets videos.
FFS 😂 I'm getting there!
you are my favorite tomb raider youtuber.
Thank you so much, that means the world to me! Thank you 🥰
Thanks for another great video! These games have really interesting and unique secrets
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I agree. Some of them are so great.
The most interesting secrets for me are those in The Lost Artifact.
Absolutely! I agree completely.
Can you rank the best TR Glitches?
Hahaha, that could be a fun topic!
@@AxMania We hope you can do this! Also interesting: the best Lara Outfits, the longest and shortest levels, a butler special episode =) etc....
I love notifications for your videos!
Thank you!
So you die and dont save? time to re do all secrets Again
Haha! 😂
i played tr1,2,3 soo many times when i was a kid and didnt even know about the t rex pit in the second one daaaaimn
Haha, it's a very well-hidden secret indeed. Why would anyone look in that big dark void beneath the zipline anyway?
About the golden skulls in Tomb Raider 4 you can still get easy course as long you pick up the skull after the cutscene.
Oh really? Didn't know that!
10/10 would watch again. :D
Haha, thank you so much! 😃 Well, knowing me, I might reupload it a couple more times! 😅
The orcas in the tank with the alien are possibly a reference to Star Trek IV.
Yeah, I've read that somewhere before. I love that.
@@AxMania Lara also drops a reference to The Fly during Antarctica (even though the levels are clearly more reminiscent of The Thing!) There must have been a film geek on the team for this one.
I really miss playing The Lost Artefact :(
Yeah, it's such a shame it's not more easily available ☹️
Btw, I saw your comment on my Lion King video as well, but I had to change the video due to fear of a copyright claim from Disney, but yes: The rewind feature in the remaster was crucial for me to be able to record all that footage! 😅 I don't know what I would've done without it.
Have you got Remastered?! ❤️
all these years and I had no idea there were expansions for classic TR games - I played them on the PS1. guess it's time to finally try the PC versions!
You are in for a treat, they are genuinely some of the best classic Tomb Raider levels ever!
Beautiful secrets, well done! But what about the later games? They also contain some great ones
Thank you! 😃 If I'm not mistaken, the later games don't have secrets per se?
New Video 😩😩😩😩 day blessed
Haha, thank you so much for watching!
Secret with 2 T-Rexes on first lvl of TR2 is #1 for me :D
It's such a fantastic secret! 😃
You deserve more subscribers
Thanks man, I really appreciate that!
Re-upload or not, it's always good to see your videos, man.
Btw sorry to ask, but what happened to the "Top 10 hardest Tomb Raider secrets" video? It's on private list now.
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! I'll reupload that one as well, both videos had the same errors in their transitions between ranked entries, and a wrong secret number 😫
Ah, a reupload! I was wondering how else you can spin this topic :D Well, I'm afraid I won't be able to replicate my comment from the previous video, but I can still watch it again :)
Thank you so much! I still have all the comments from the previous version saved, as it would pain me to lose them.
@@AxMania Aw! Ngl I'd do the same if I had to delete a video (though mine don't get that many comments, of course :D )
finding the secrets is all what TR is about
Tomb Raider 3 can be finished with 60 of 59 Secrets as there is an extra Secret on the Coastal Village level giving a total of 4 of 3 on the statistics screen
Yeah, so you technically CAN skip that evil final secret of Lost City of Tinnos.
The extra secret is there in case you choose the alternative path in the level River Gange and lose one of the secrets.
What about the opening where Lara enters the tank? It's a small square but it's possible to breathe there 😅
@@kayeff7155 - From what I know about Orca anatomy - it won't work :P
I think 😅
If I was to guess why Area 51 has them orcas, they are trying to adapt its echolocation and sonar in to a weapon
That's a really cool theory actually. I love that.
Is there a top 10 friendlies video?
Not yet, but that's a nice suggestion for a top 10, thank you!
The best one is the jade dragon in TR2
Think the trex chasm was referenced in Mario Odyssey as an easter egg? The Tomb raider secret and the Steam Gardens secret look similar, dinosaur(s) and all
Oh, really!? That's so cool! 😃
Are the orcas noy a reference to star trek film?
Yeah, I think they are, but I didn't know that until after I made this video, when someone pointed it out to me.
Deja vú o.o
Still love it
Haha! Thank you, I'm happy to hear that.
my favorite secret was the myth of the Nude Raider cheat Code
Haha! 😂
Haha, good point 😅 It doesn't really make any logical sense either way.
Is this a re upload im 100% sure ive seen this video already ?
It is, I had to fix some errors ☹️
@@AxMania no problem i rewatched it anyway haha 💪🏻
Aha great , i only discovered the two T Rexes and i thought i was good at this game😂
Well, they are very well-hidden 😉 Why would anyone think to look down in that pitch black abyss after all?
@@AxMania I hope your Chanel get all the recognition it deserve , everything about it IS pure gold , and on top of that you take the time to interact with us . From all of my heart THANK YOU 💐💐💐.
Am I the only one who (for many years) thought secrets in TR 2 were "little kitty's" instead "dragons" 🤔
Not me, no.
Haha, I can actually kind of see it 😅 They also kind of look like catfish, or something...
🙂🙂🙂
i complete the game then sell it
De javu 😂
Haha! 😅
У фанатиков, как я, всё наёдено. Но гуд для нубов
I never bothered with secrets cus games were hard enough even without them , especially 3
Haha, true! 😅
