- 12 Piano Preludes Volume 1 (2022)
A set of twelve solo piano pieces, all of which are dedicated to certain composers.
I requested them to write a rhythmic pattern so that I could make anything out of it, some gave me The tempo and/or key signature.
I didn't intend for any of the compositions to be a description of the composers or their musical style; instead, they were all composed based on my imagination and the rhythmic pattern.

Oh, I love this oriental touch, the trills are enchanting! The chords in the ending are really beautiful! ✨

الله يسلمك ويعافيك العمده 🥀
A very strong piece. The augmented second f-g# and the octave (d) have a tremendous effect. The harmonies in the last third are stunning. Just great!
That a renowned composer like yourself would write me such a comment means a lot to me. Thank you, Stefan!
@@AbdulazizShabakouhMy friend, a few more words. You're confusing me. Am I renowned? Maybe I'm getting noticed a little now, but I have you to thank for that. I never expected to be noticed at the beginning and it wasn't my goal either. You were the first person to be really interested in my music. I couldn't believe it when I heard your music. Your music is so great. I've always looked up to your music (also shown in my blogs, by the way) and I do so again with your preludes. This one speaks a special language. It's not really minor, not really Arabic, not really church tonal. It seems modal with d-e-f-g#-a-b-c, then a c# ornamental. But other harmonies are added. You use leading tones for it, d# and g#, enharmonic confusion as counter-leading tone (I hope my translator app uses the right terms 😂). That's skillful. Well, but what is the material without the musical feeling, and above all without the heart? You unite it in your music. It resonates with my soul. Thank you, dear Aziz.
@@stefan.kraus-composer Stefan, you caught everyone's attention not just mine, you have a strangely charming musical combination in harmony, melody, orchestration and structure that I've never heard before, and so diverse in your musical styles.
As for the scale used in this prelude, I used an Arabic maqam (mode) it's called Nawa Athar (a Persian word meaning the new effect, the effect of distance or a new path). This maqam doesn't have a tetrachord of perfect fourth, instead the fourth degree in the minor harmonic scale is raised by semi tone (C D Eb F# G Ab B).
It's similar to the Hungarian scale in western music which was used abundantly by f. Liszt.
Thank you so much my dear friend and fellow composer.
@@AbdulazizShabakouh I got completely caught up wrong in European thinking with my analysis 😂. Thank you so much for your explanation and your kind words, dear Aziz!!!
@@stefan.kraus-composer My pleasure Stefan!
