  • Lots of coins and a ring. Minelab’s X-Terra Pro. I’ve learned to turn down the sensitivity to stop the chatter. I’m learning as I go. I dig every signal even though I SUSPECT they’ll be trash. It would bother me not knowing what the target truly is unless I see it. 😆
    Things to do in Florida.
    I only show live digs. No open holes and the target. I show what I find. No more. No less. If I find only trash, I’ll show that too. 😆

    Sucks that Whites left us, and Garrett is doing it's best to make sure the brand remains dead but it sure is good to see you back and enjoying your new machine. Thanks for sharing.

    Love mine. I hunt the treasure coast here in Florida. We have the 1715 fleet ship wrecks off our beaches, lots of artifacts wash up on the beach.

    I gotta assume somone did a detecting event. That, or there was some sort of weird natural alloying going on, where zinc and copper mixed.

    • @Gaptains_vloG
      @Gaptains_vloG  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I doubt it’s natural. Or else both sides would be affected. That chunk of metal seemed to be the same coloration. This is the same beach where I found fake Spanish silver and Chinese coins. I think JL nox 800 is seeding that area.

    I'm very convinced that a few people who have nothing better to do, have been scattering pennies on the beaches of So CA....
    I don't get it 🤔🤓 At least they're not pull tabs 😂!

    Jay, have you figured out why all the coins are that shiny gold color on the one side? Have a great day.

    • @Gaptains_vloG
      @Gaptains_vloG  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have no idea why the coins are like that. I’ve had coins that were colored golden on both sides. I’ve never seen one golden on one side.

    Just moved from Oregon to NJ LBI area and want to get into metal detecting:) used to prospect in Oregon but unfortunately it’s not that great here:/ used to have gold monster 1000 but I can’t afford that atm lol was looking this up and seems pretty nice if your on a budget. Was just wondering if you would recommend this to a newbie that wants to find coins/rings ect on the beach? I like the content btw and appreciate it, thank you!

      I’ve been to the jersey beaches and will concur you can’t do much gold prospecting there and the gold monster probably isnt the most ideal machine for the area. If you’re doing beach/field minelab Makes a good product that will do both and be good at both. I have an equinox 600 and do woods and surf and have found everything from modern to a 1640 lion daalder in the surf at ocean city. Xterra pro hits a good price point with the nokta simplex and a few others. Def look for a machine with a dedicated beach mode I have a fisher f22 also. Good machine and about the same as the xterra pro but garbage at the beach and wet sand because of no beach mode. Good luck out there and welcome to the area!

      @@spiceymchaggiss thanks so much for replying back so fast and for all the advice and being welcoming:). Yea I was a little bummed about not being able to prospect because that was my passion but I think this is a reasonable substitute:) so does the xterra pro have a beach mode? I heard it takes a second to get used to cuz you can’t just turn on and go to work which I don’t mind at all, just curious:) From the looks of it, it does great on dry sand but how about wet sand and also is it true that the wet sand is kinda where you want to be with low tide and all that? You don’t have to get back to me if I’m pulling ya away from something, I already appreciate the advice you’ve given thanks:). Oh merry Xmas too man;)

      @@AstralWorks_unspoken411 xterra pro does have beach mode 1 and 2. Beach mode 1 is for dry/wet sand, beach mode 2 is for submerged and surf. From what I’ve read so far about the xterra pro it looks like an equinox 600 with added features such as the vibration mode and a flash light. In my opinion and this is just my opinion you could turn it on and run at the beach and the most you may have to do is turn up or down the sensitivity to filter out power lines/wifi/electronic chatter to noise etc. and as you get used to it work in noise cancellation feature and others like excluding iron numbers. Beach detecting is my favorite by far I just turn it onand run between beach 1 and 2 adjusting my sensitivity as I get closer the for boardwalk.
      When hunting sand depending on tides and the “flow” of the sand and storms. I hunt the dry sand in the evening after people leave the beach (the beach comber tractor things usually scrape the dry areas for trash early in the morning). I try to hit low tide like you said to look for jewelry in the surf during the day time but it doesn’t always work with the tide schedule. Low tide for jewelry/rings because when people go in the cold ocean their fingers tend to constrict from the cold (the jewelry not the fingers haha, hopefully) and they fall off for us to find and usually most people don’t go in the water with a pocket full of change.
      Tons of shipwrecks up and down the coast of the jersey beaches check south of ocean city towards strathMere/corsons inlet state park beach I heard some folks hit some old Spanish coins down there. State park beaches in Jersey require a permit but the regular beach’s don’t.
      The xterra pro seems like a good machine but like all things do your research for what you want to do with the detector. I watched a ton of videos before committing to my equinox 600 and was happy I did, for me by watching and listening to how people were using the machine by the time I got it I felt like I knew it already.
      Oh and get a beach scoop! My most favorite thing about beach hunting is rarely ever having to bend over/squat/kneel and processing sand/rinsing my target etc.again my opinion is that it makes you much faster than trying to use a hand held pinpointer.
      Sorry that was long but again good luck and merry Christmas!

      Metal detecting beaches is always a great option, but not the same as detecting/panning for gold. There are fossilized teeth in the Monmouth County area and radioactive/fluorescent minerals in the Sterling Hill/Franklin area, if you like rocks and minerals tho.

      Constructive criticism appreciated. This channel started off as a joke between me and my friends and it’s how I entertained myself after digging nothing but trash for hours. 😂 I don’t say it as often as I used to but it still happens.
      No need to apologize for sharing criticism.

      Thanks for being a good sport! I will say i am enjoying the videos and you have helped me decide to purchase the xterra pro as my first dive into detecting. So maybe i can document my finds on TH-cam and we can collaborate lol. Thanks for taking the time to respond!
