I loved the china series, it’s really lovely that you completely immersed yourself and stayed so respectful to the people and the culture. Matt will be so very missed. I wish him nothing but luck on his future adventures.
This series really changed my perspective on this country and it’s people. The media pushes a really unfriendly narrative about China but I think it’s fair to say the opposite was shown through this series
The people of China seem like very friendly people! The government however is shady and dangerous... Kinda like the U.S when you really think about it lol
The western governments and media are trying to prime us all into supporting a future war with China. As sad as it is. The best we can do is be extremely skeptical of any news of foreign countries that are considered "threats" of the western hemisphere, and try to contrast it with different sources always. My rule of thumb is that if any news provoke a visceral reaction of hatred on me, I should always remain skeptical and research more on that topic.
people are the same everywhere, just products of their environment. in china their media loves to paint the US in a negative, antagonistic light so it wouldn’t be surprising that they think of americans in certain ways. it’s nice to step back and realize people are people at the end of the day, it’s those in power that make the malicious decisions
whatever western media says about china is the opposite. just CIA led propaganda to try and destroy China because America is afraid of losing its number 1 spot.

If you want to explore 1,000 years of history, go to Beijing. If you want to explore 100 years of China from colonization to modernization, you can go to Shanghai. If you want to see a city plan built on a mountain with modern infrastructure. For the dream city built in 40 years, let's go to Chongqing. If you want to see the future, go to Shenzhen. This is a very rough and comprehensive statement. Great trip, from your first comments about china when you first arrived in your first video to now as hitchhiking explorers . China is so misconceived . Chinese people are very friendly and hospitable and hardworking. I always wanted to work and live in a foreign country away from San Diego, Southern California. I first came to China for two weeks as a consultant and never left. after celebrating my 20th year here, i’m happy i choose an adventure in China. I have always been treated with kindness and i’ve traveled to every corner and each place was unique in local language, customs, history and heritage but kindness remained the thread throughout the culture. Yes Theory team shows that everyone is connected and at the heart ,everyone is kind throughout the world . thank you for taking us on your adventures and showing not to be afraid of other cultures. continued success to all on your team. China's tradition is one of warm hospitality and generosity. We often invite good friends to dine with us, even those we have just met through a few conversations. This is something that virtually impossible in many other countries.
Those series rid me of my stereotypes about China and rethink about life. Thank you thank you so much. Thank you Matt for have been in the yes theory. Whatever you do and wherever you are you will inspire people like you always do!!
Love you guys so much! Thank you for bridging the gaps among us by staying curious and open-minded to learn from people who may look "different" than us. This is what we need at a time like this. We need to start recognizing that we are all part of the human family, and we can all learn, grow and make our world a much more loving, compassionate and connected place where we can all thrive!

I traveled to China for 2 weeks back in 2017. It was the best experience of my life. I visited many cities that were in this video like Shanghai, Nanjing, etc. One of my good college friends was born and raised in China so he was our travel guide. We traveled all over China and saw the great wall of china & many smaller cities where the locals have never seen an American in person. I would love to go back and visit again.
Now I'd like to see two Chinese guys with no English apart from "hello" & their Chinese passports hitchhiking across the United States of America! They will get "citizen arrested" or shot by police within a few days.
Wow, definitely the China series is my favorite series on your TH-cam channel. Absolutely amazing and soo different from what mainstream media like BBC DW VOA showed us. Absolutely refreshing.
Damn, I miss China! My wife (Chinese born) recently mentioned that we may go back and visit her birth place in rural Canton and I am so hyped! I have a feeling that I will try to get lost as much as I can (with my 7 yrs old son?) and try all the random stuff we can find. We've sort of done it in the past in Shanghai, but you guys are an inspiration to push the boundaries. The last part of the video, with you drinking with random people brought back memory of us in Turkey drinking and laughing with Russians and Kazakhstani. Yes, there's the war and all the controversy, but people can be awesome. They even found our phone the morning after we had a few Jagermeisters too many... Keep up the good work! Keep the good feelings flow!
Rural Canton is amazing. Depending on where you are in the province, you can perhaps see some of the most unique villages on earth, some beautiful moutains, tropical seashores, and most importantly, a lot of fresh and tasty foods. Hope you enjoy the trip!
@@rogerlin8145 we were in Xinhui and we did indeed see a lot of interesting things. There was a huge park near the city with quiet lakes and huge pagoda-like buildings, and then we visited what I think is called "the birds' paradise", a natural reserve that offers some amazing views while on a boat in a quiet lagoon. It definitely was a good trip, and the food was just fantastic too. I had the luck to try some local cuisine, some stewed wild birds, cooked papayas (in the farm where they were grown). I picked my own sugar cane. It was a truly magical time.

I was hoping there was more from your time in China. There are some area of China where the main way to get around seems like hitchhike (you don't get your own car/taxi, you share with others headed the same direction), so can't say I'm surprised it worked (even if took awhile sometimes). People there are curious and so wonderfully hospitable. Can't wait to visit again.
@@wenliu9571 I'm very aware, but I have also traveled in areas of China where what I describe was the best way to get where I was going. Once, every passing bus was full, so the shared car was my only choice. Other towns, however you booked the car, the driver would troll for more customers on the route. Buses and trains are fantastic there, my point was people are more used to and open to the idea of hitchhiking than in some other places of the world cause of things like I'm describing.

Western media is full of bull. all it does it try to demonize china and chinese peoeple because China is advancing so much.
@@aye3678 nah china still a shit hole, nearly a country on North Korea level. Xi Jinping is running the country into a state of crisis but sure don’t believe the mainstream media. Don’t believe the ongoing genocide or the fact that the majority of the country lives below the poverty line
Chinese just never changed, it is the western media and politicians want you to think how bad Chinese are.
It's not the people. It's the government
Dazhaxie (hairy crabs)!! Omg you guys are in for a treat ! For those don’t know, Hairy crabs are an autumn delicacy in southern China. If someone invited you to taste crabs together it means they’re really treating you as the most honorable guests (cuz these crabs can be pricy at times) !
Also these crabs do taste brilliant if you enjoy umami . ❤
我都好几年没吃过大闸蟹了,确实贵吃不起哈哈
It’s kinda weird to translate it to hairy crab.
Good Bye Matt, it was good watching you, I really enjoyed. I hope Thomas and Amar stay back and motivate every human being on this planet.
1000% yes
Do you know why he is leaving?
@@krishagarwal1844 being in the lime light for several years caused him profound anxiety. The pressure to always be "on" got way too much for him. Unlike Thomas who's personality can stand that kind of environment, Matt's can't. Matt will join sporadic adventures going forward, but he will only communicate his life updates through his newsletter. He is off of social media for good, and unless he has a project he feels is IG worthy, he will not restart on the platform. Unlike his brother Tommy, who can withstand the limelight, Matt isn't cut out for that. While business end of Yes Theory he is great at, he hosting is exhausting for him.
It's a communist country.
i just got back from a trip in china and i have never had this level of post-trip depression....best country i have ever been to!! i need to go back

Thank you for showing everyone the beautiful truths about our planet :) Thank you for opening my eyes wider! I look forward to seeing what you guys show in 2024!
China's tradition is one of warm hospitality and generosity. We often invite good friends to dine with us, even those we have just met through a few conversations. This is something that virtually impossible in many other countries.
depends, i have had that in quite a few countries,. usually the poorer ones !!!!! poor poeple are nice than rich ones, in my expeirence.

This China series has been my favourite I’ve seen in a long time!
Welcome back, my friend,❤
Now I'd like to see two Chinese guys with no English apart from "hello" & their Chinese passports hitchhiking across the United States of America!
They will get "citizen arrested" or shot by police within a few days.
it's so heartwarming hearing all these ppl involved in rescueing stray dogs and cats
China is so modern and beautiful and the people so kind, so different from how western media tries to portray it!

Almost all villages and towns have public transportation, which is cheap and convenient. You can also call an online taxi anywhere.
