- I was given two sun conure to #handfeed and had raise. Their parent were first time parents and two out of four chicks could not survive so we decided to raise them. Here in this video I'm sharing how to hand feed #Sun #Conure #Baby and some tips to groom them.

Hello i have a almost 4 week old sun conure and she does not do the wing flapping or beak moving during feeding but she does eat the food after eating she spits some out if we give her 10ml she spits 2mls dose not vomit tho so what to do??
Hey
It’s ok even if she doesn’t flap wings. As long as she is eating food is good sign.. try feeding 5ml and give couple of minutes break and feed the rest. Or try feeding less but increase frequency.

How do you know when their cropis full or empty?
Empty is easy.. no food seen in crop… but full you need to check if it’s still loose.. it’s kinda tricky.. but with few hand feeding experience.. you will know exactly.
I just got my 7 week old Cinnamon Conure her name is Kiwi feeding I finally got the hang of after seeing your video thank you. Once after giving her a certain amount she doesn't want any more but I now introduce Nutrition of Pellets and Milliet strips and been eating both. Should I start to introduce her to regular seeds? Also at what age to they finally stop having formula? Thanks in advance
Absolutely yes, at 7 week they can start eating seeds and you are doing right.. if possible reduce feed to morning, evening and if required then small dose in afternoon. They should have seeds available all the time and replace it everyday. All the best

@rajaking8400 hey. At this age they should be fed 4 times a day 7h, 12h, 17h, 22h. About 15 to 20ml.. start with 15ml and see how they digest and increase to 20. Watch my first week of hand feeding video.. it has all details. Also introduce a millet and seeds in week 5 and feeding should be 7h 14h 21h about 20ml. They should show more interest to eating seeds and by week 6 only 2 feeding and each week reduce. All the best.

The Bird is Getting better/bigger & is quite active & also I think it's 4 half weeks.
When I was feeding him a week a ago he was openly taking the food but now I have to slightly force him as he is only eating 8 or 9 ml & even That is quite difficult to feed as he is trying to regect it.
I've never raised a sun conure only small parrots.
The Temperature of the formula is between 35/40 Degree.
What mistakes am making or am I making the food too thin/thick?

Yes, but I think it should be 12 to 15ml depending upon how hungry is the baby.

You don’t have to. Hand feeding has enough water. When they start eating themself, keep some water in a small bowl. They will lean themselves to drink.
How many times need to feed suneconure baby 2 month
My sun conures laid 3 eggs in the beginning of April. I’m hoping they will take good care of the babies for 3 weeks. Then I was going to hand feed them.

@@RosieandFriends1 I have seen sun conure laying uptown four eggs. So they may lay 2 or 3 or 4 eggs. So 3 is good count to begin with.

Almost 10 week old. At this age they should be eating themselves. If they are not eating themselves then only two times feeding should be given. Morning and evening. And rest of time they should eat seeds and fruits.
@@phdahdbirds i bought them a week before. I don't know why they are not on self feeding. The breeder instructed me to feed 14 ml per bird 2-3 times
Ok. Try only two times and give them plenty of seed mix and fruit and vegetables during day. Reduce feed to once a day in a week time if you see them eating well. All the best.

Process is same, be it any bird.
Always start with 5ml on day 1 of hand feeding and do not worry about getting him full. Feed more times as required. Bird crop need to adjust to feeding formula otherwise it may lead to crop issues. Watch the video, that will give you some guidance although it’s for cockatiel

Yes but is not recommended. Better to get an idea of each feeding quantity and only prepare that much.

Hand feeding should only be done when parents reject baby or not feeding baby. Otherwise it is always good to be kept with parents.

Not boiling water it's fairly warm water
Add boiling water and let it cool upto 37deg Celsius. Hope that will helps.

I can think of two reasons 1. Hand feeding formula is not good so bird is not getting nutrition. 2. Bird is under stress. By this age, bird should be moving to self eating. Focus more on self eating add veggies, fruits and multivitamins along with seed mix.

I’m feeding small one three times a day (7am, 2pm, 7pm) and bigger two times a day (7am and 7pm). And now this week onwards bigger one only eating in the evening 7pm. He is eating seed and millets during the day.
