I know right big ed!!!! if it was up to me, I would film her doing all the wrenching , but she’s such a shy girl she don’t like being on camera!!! man what we could do if she wasn’t a shy introvert!!!! 👍🍺
He’s the best!! I think everyone should be blessed enough to find themselves a “hippie”. The world would be a better place……….. now if you’ll excuse me i have to go throw up now 🤢🤮 lol 😂 just playin, love that dude!!! Thanks for watching. 👍🍺 SLICK
Thanks Mark from Maryland. I appreciate that. Glad you liked it. Maybe I’ll see you down in Maryland sometime this summer we like to ride to the union hotel, deer park tavern, red eyes dock bar, and Rockhall Maryland!!! 👍🍺 SLICK
Oh I know all about it, we get the bloody Mary bar all the time on our way down to the union. I pack mine with so much shit it’s like drinking a stew!!!! 😂😂
First thing i want to say is i have no experiance with panheads at all , just bikes and cars in general. My guess would be that the grabbing problem your having is a result of the discs getting oil on them. Thoes discs and steels look plenty good to me. Clean them good with brake cleaner , lightly rough them up with 400 grit sand paper on a sheet of glass , . and do the steels the same way then clean again. Try to get the surface finnish on the steels as nondirectional as possible, by going in a half assed figure 8 pattern reassemble it and set the nuts to the tighter of the spec. Make sure the cable has slack when the clutch is released and it should work fine . Clean the inside of the drum out good and resolve the oil leak. Good luck Hope this helps
That oil could be coming past the pushrod seal in the mainshaft nut, it looked a little damp. Of course it could be coming from couple other spots, but you already know that 😊😊
The advice from Hippie is good. First off, the entire problem may have been that loose throw out rod lock nut. I would have just adjusted that first to see if that solved the problem--it probably would have. (One time, I forgot to tighten it and found out on the road. The clutch just stopped working. I did a roadside check and , measuring the clutch arm position and adjusting the nut solved it 100%). However,, you have the clutch apart now. So, as Hippie said, wash all of the plates with brake clean and rough them all up real well with at least 320 grit paper or rougher. Btw, those plates don't look bad as best as I can see. Be sure that they are very clean and roughed up and totally dry of any oil. Next, reassemble the plates and pressure plate. Next , measure the position of the clutch actuating arm ( on top of the tranny) so that the end of it measures 4.25" from the edge of the ratchet drum and that the mousetrap actuating rod is 1/8" from the end of the clutch actuating arm. Once that is attained, lock down the nut. Regarding the distance of the springs from the pressure plate., I've always started with a 1 " measurement ( the manual for the older panheads stated 31/32" of an inch, but 1" was a close enough starting point). Check the clutch operation by pulling in the lever and kicking your kicker and slowly let out the lever to see where the clutch engages--you want it somewhere near the middle of the lever throw . If the clutch is grabby, loosen the springs one click at a time. If slipping, tighten the springs one click at a time. Make sure that the springs are all equi-distant from the pressure plate when done. Once all of this is done , do a complete adjustment of the mousetrap and you are good to go. Pacific Mike on You Tube has the best video I've ever seen re: adjusting the mousetrap from start to finish. One more thing--if your motor is basically stock, you do not need heavy duty clutch springs. They will only make for a harder clutch pull with no real advantage over the stock ones.
Thanks big mike!!!! I’m not gonna lie to you, the last two times I stopped at the post office to send out shirts, I forgot to ask, BUT I promise you I will stop and ask sometime this week and I will get back to you on that!!! YOU HAVE MY WORD!!! 👍🍺
Lol dam proud of that question!!! Made me laugh every time I heard it during the editing process, I’m glad someone liked it too!!!! Lol. Meg will appreciate hearing that!!! 👍🍺
Lol yeah i think he might actually be a little sweet on me!!! 😂 yeah I’ve been joking with hippie for months now, if we both lived in the same town, there won’t be two channels, we would combine and be one!!! The stuff i’d be able to produce and edit if we were both under one roof, each of us doing our on thing across the shop from one another, make fun of one another, not to mention the skits i’d be able to dream up for the two of us. Oh well im gonna have the FaceTime thing back more often and i got other plans for me and hippie, oh and i can’t say to much, but maybe a lil face to face meet up and collaboration soon!!!!!! Dont miss my next video, i think it’s one of my funniest and coolest videos so far- it’s my “what’s in your garage?” Series, episode 1. I interview my buddy panhead billy, tour his collection of bikes and go through all his motorcycle memorabilia!!! It’s awesome!!!!
@@SlickHeadCustomCycles I look forward to that. Hey who knows what the future holds , but if you do both do something together, I think it couldn't be beatable.
There’s a joke somewhere in there about beating off with the Jeep gloves and him having painted a Jeep, something about “rubbing compound”. Just can’t pull the joke out though. 😂
Ha, I only live 25minutes from that flying j- and fun fact in my early twenties i lived down the block from the pilot truck stop across the 295 highway, in fact they were just building the flying j, i used to eat dinner in the flying j restaurant all the time, once it was opened! 😂😂
The crankcase breather dumped oil onto the primary chain directly through the inner primary. It's now rerouted to avoid the belt. When using a belt, everything in the clutch is dry. A big bearing kit at the hub to basket rotating surface, an aluminum pressure plate and antiseize on the studs leads to smother operation.
Fantastic video, dude. The phone-a-friend segment is a cracking idea. I watch Hippie & Ralph too, great channels. You all talk funny to me!!! (I'm English) 🤣
Thanks Andy!!!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!!! Now if I only had an Englishmen, and an Australian, i have the the perfect collection of accents!!!! 😂😂 👍🍺 SLICK

Yo Slick, was a great video man, i loved how you had different segments, was a cool change of pace. Sorry for theblate comment man, life got in the way of me watching videos today dammit...lol Hey man dont forget, keenan tatro can answer any questions you have if u and hippie cant figure it out, and he'll have all the parts you need especially for flatheads and panheads....take care brother....come on springtime huh!!! What up T-bone!!!!! Well I got to see if I can get it started with the bare minimum when it comes to money lol before I make anything of it. 😂😂👍🍺 SLICK
"There's the right way and there's the Hippie way, so yeah..." Ha! 🙂 I enjoyed this video, as always. Fun stuff. I took the plates out of a Norton Atlas clutch basket, at my friend's shop one afternoon. He showed me what to look for, in terms of wear and tear, and then I got to clean them all. "Got to" Ha ha. It's neat to see what the same thing looks like on a Panhead. Danny seems like a cool guy too, good sense of humor. The Jeep Fetish jokes made me laugh.
I’m glad you liked it dietrichess!!! Yeah my buddy Dan is a super cool dude!!! He’s a very funny guy in his own right, me and him gel real well with picking on each other!! 😂 👍🍺
That hose is a v ent it's obvious thay just dumped it in the primary, mine is routed to the rear chain . oiler is that bolt y ou keep pointing to on the case comes through the hole in innner primary just to the right of the motor sprocket. Should not have oil in there with the belt drive .

I am looking in to the cost to ship overseas for someone else today when I get that information I’ll let you know, kind of what it would cost if you actually wanted to pay for the shipping plus the $20 for the T-shirt
