The way i see it mermaids are aquatic mammals not half fish. Just people who evolved to live in water. But even if they were technically fish, fish eat other species of fish. So it's basically like a shark eating a tuna or more accurately a dolphin eating a sardine. Sorry for the essay lol. Just my opinion.
