Hi Joseph. Excellent video (and as everyone else has already pointed out - great English!!) Question. The Flynex app seems to indicate that much of central Berlin in a Restricted Flight Zone - but I'm having trouble determining what my options are when flying a sub-250g for recreation in that area. Some sources seem to indicate that there's no restriction for me, and other sources say that I need a special permit. Thoughts? Thank you, sir! Rob

The only thing I'm not sure about is whether I'm allotted to film, for example, a small German village from a distance and post it to TH-cam. Very informative video, thank you. Few questions. In France they have a "certificat loisirs" which is an online training and multiple choice test roughly 30minutes total and then the open certificate test for 3+ hours. Does Germany need that first test I mentioned? And secondly regarding insurance, is there in the regulations a required value for liability? Or any drone insurance is fine? Hi Brian, when the drone is equipped with an camera you would have to do the registration at the LBA: uas-registration.lba-openuav.de/#/registration/uasOperator

When you have the permission from the land owner of the take-off location and you fly over city property (for example an park) is should be normally possible. Just take care for federal highways and similar Geozones.

At least for German Operators it is mandantory to register also for the Mini 2 here: uas-registration.lba-openuav.de/#/registration/uasOperator Maybe it is easier for you to register at an english speaking EU country like Ireland - this number can also be used to operate in Germany!

Hi, I still don't understand something. If I want video footage with the DJI mini 2 in Munich or Berlin, apart from the registration number and insurance, do I need anything else? I will fly below 50 meters and away from people. Thanks..!
Might be late, but i can answer. It depends, the law is still interpretable at this point, but generally filming for you that s all, commercial filming req special permits and even then, me as a private person might still be able to sue you if i don t agree to appear in your film under some circumstances! Hope that brings you more questions than answers, like any German law 😂
Hi Vadim, Take a look for DMO, Haftpftlicht-Helden orsimilar companys. The German LBA offers the A1/A3 Examination only in German, but you can do it in every other european country online, e.g. Ireland!
I just moved to Germany for the military, in the US I have my FAA part 107 drone license. Will that transfer over to here, can it be converted, or do I need something completely different? I will be living here for about 5 years if that makes a difference.
Hi Dave, sadl the 107 licence can not be "converted" to an EU Licence. I would recommend you to check in an english speaking EU-Country (eg Ireland) of you can do the A1/A3 licence there online.
Hi Joseph, I will visit Germany this month and I want to apply for drone insurance and I'm Non-EU resident. I have reached many insurance companies in Germany and they do only offer insurance for EU residents. Then how can I register as drone operator if I cannot get drone insurance? Hey, check with your insurance company if there is a possibility to get international insurance for a respective drone for a short period of time. If not, ask our partner insurance Helden.de if there is a possibility.
Hi. I'm a tourist from Egypt. I've followed all the required steps, only I cannot find an insurance company that accepts issuing policies for a non-EU person, what should I do now?

Is it possible to do so if I have registered already DJI Mini 3 Pro and have bought an insurance? Or I need to apply for special permission to fly my drone beside or above some historical buildings? Thanks
How you managed?
Hi, thank you so much for the video. I'm a drone pilot licensed by the Kenyan Civil Aviation Authority and I moved to Munich in October 2021. What do I need to do in order to legally fly my drone? I also do small builds for myself so is it legal to fly them?
Hi Brian, when the drone is equipped with an camera you would have to do the registration at the LBA: uas-registration.lba-openuav.de/#/registration/uasOperator
Insurance taken in germany is valid all over the world? I need one insurance valid for alll over EU. Which one would you recommend? (DJI mini usage)

Hi, I am still slightly confused about one issue. Once I have my insurance, and registration, can I fly my DJI Mini 2 (under 250g) over my town? I understand I can not fly over normal private property, but what about 75m high over my town centre? Thank you if you can help me!!!
When you have the permission from the land owner of the take-off location and you fly over city property (for example an park) is should be normally possible. Just take care for federal highways and similar Geozones.
@@UROBGmbH thank you for your answer.
@@UROBGmbH so witch Kind of insurance i ask about if my drone under 250 Gramm dji mini 2 and i have to go to the Polizeistation to tell them that or not and welche insurance Firma to make the insurance.. thank you und ja deine englisch ist perfekt ✌🙂
Hi. whats required to fly less than 250 g drone in city? and whats the conditions for that? I have DJI Mini 2 . registered as operator in LBA and have A1/A3 license and insurance , is that enough to fly in city?
Hey look at this u-rob.com/wissensartikel/rechtslage/what-is-needed-to-fly-drones-in-germany/
Hi, I’m about to buy the dji mini 2 which have a weight of 249 grams, where do I need to register it so I can operate it in Germany 🇩🇪 ?
And can I do this online ?
Vielen Dank ! ✅
At least for German Operators it is mandantory to register also for the Mini 2 here: uas-registration.lba-openuav.de/#/registration/uasOperator
Maybe it is easier for you to register at an english speaking EU country like Ireland - this number can also be used to operate in Germany!
Many thanks sir, I’ve bin followings all the process necessary for the mini 2 Drohne… everything came good, Registration and insurance also the Eid Plakette. Many thanks for your reply.
Hi, I have an EU A1/A3 license and I'm registered as operator in Italy. Have I to register as operator to LBA also? Thanks in advance
Registration within one EU country is sufficient.
Hey, I’m planning to fly my mavic 3 in Germany. So from my understanding. I would need to register my drone in the irish website (for English) which will be valid in Germany too? And then I’ll have to take a A2 licence to be able to pilot & operate it? (Or do i need to take both a1 and a2 licenses?
hey, to get the A2 you have to do the A1/A3😎
Thank you, do you know where i can get an insurance for my drone?
I am an American that will be in Germany for the first time on a layover for one day. How can I legally fly a drone that's less that 250g?
In Germany, you can currently fly a drone up to 250g without a licence, but you must register the drone with the Federal Aviation Office.
Hey, what Insurance Company in Germany you can recommend? And also what kind of school to take an examination for A1/A3.
Hi Vadim,
Take a look for DMO, Haftpftlicht-Helden orsimilar companys. The German LBA offers the A1/A3 Examination only in German, but you can do it in every other european country online, e.g. Ireland!
@@UROBGmbH mthanx a lot!! just completed a A1/A3 examination at IAA
Das bedeutet für dji mavic 2 mini braucht man keine license?
Thats right!😎
I want to buy a Mavic mini 2, can you kindly let me know everything about it?
U Just Need regastratrion and insurence
I just moved to Germany for the military, in the US I have my FAA part 107 drone license. Will that transfer over to here, can it be converted, or do I need something completely different? I will be living here for about 5 years if that makes a difference.
Hi Dave, sadl the 107 licence can not be "converted" to an EU Licence. I would recommend you to check in an english speaking EU-Country (eg Ireland) of you can do the A1/A3 licence there online.
@@UROBGmbH I’ll do that and thank you for the response.
Hi Joseph, I will visit Germany this month and I want to apply for drone insurance and I'm Non-EU resident. I have reached many insurance companies in Germany and they do only offer insurance for EU residents. Then how can I register as drone operator if I cannot get drone insurance? I'm from Kuwait and there is no company here offer drone insurance
Hey, check with your insurance company if there is a possibility to get international insurance for a respective drone for a short period of time.
If not, ask our partner insurance Helden.de if there is a possibility.
Can you please tell me if I have charged insurance. Will that work??
I didn't write this
Care insurance
Car insurance is this a form of insurance
Hi. I'm a tourist from Egypt. I've followed all the required steps, only I cannot find an insurance company that accepts issuing policies for a non-EU person, what should I do now?
Hi Peter, maybe you can use an insurance from egypt which is also valid in Europe?
@@UROBGmbH I dont have this kind of insurance in Indonesia, so i cant fly in germany :(
Can I fly my mini 3 in Germany on my holiday
Of course if you check the rules!
That’s sad me as a tourist can’t make a footage of the site I visited in Europe. I could put this in my channel and make a free ad for EU countries. Everyone will win. My followers with food and nice information and the countries with a tourism… Sad…
Since i came to Germany I can’t fart without Special Permition.
True :) :)
Great video! You earn a sub from me!
one thing to note don't fly drone in Germany
Police states
IT WOULD BE NICE GERMAN PEOPLE LEARN ABOUT THE NAME DRONE, OFTEN I SEE THEY CALL IT DROHNE, I THINK GERMAN DONT KNOW DRONE IS A NAME (F0R A MANS BEE) IF SOMEONES NAME IS FRANZ YOU CANT CHANGE IT IN JOHNY, SO PLEASE CALL IT DRONE (AND NOT DROHNE MAKES YOU LOOKS STUPID)
But Drohne is the German word for drone - so there is no problem!
I don't know man, to me feels like a ton of bullshit. Like you gotta do bunch of stuff just in order to fly nowadays a most simple technology. I get the reason why there are some restrictions on it, but let's be honest, it's for idiots.
YES, unfortunately we have to accept such regulations because of past incidents worldwide.
Drones are a serious piece of aviation equipment. They can cause serious accidents with helicopters and low flying planes. Your comments are invalid.
@@Tony-ow3if I think you should go and get your pilot license before flying most common drone to capture a simple shot. There are two joysticks to control a drone. If you're that dumb to cause an accident with helicopter, I think you should reconsider your option to even drive a car if you're even driving one 😂
