Toronto is a long way from Kentucky but this afternoon in the centre of my city I fell to one knee in the pouring rain, along with thousands of others of all ethnicities, raised a fist in the air, and sang happy birthday to Breonna. MLK said that the arc of the moral universe is long, but that it bends toward moral justice. I feel that this is true because I've seen great strides forward in my lifetime... women's rights, LGBTQ rights, mutual human respect for one another and our shared inheritance and our differences. Sadly these marches remind me of my childhood... my parents were activists and I was brought to protests against racial discrimination in the late 60's and early 70's. The arc is far too long; we have a rare opportunity today to move it forward!

My question to those people is simply this: If you care so much about the white people who have died because of police brutality, who's preventing you from marching? Who's telling you not to demand policy changes? What's stopping you from grabbing a sign and pounding the pavement? Why are you telling everyone else to concern themselves with the issue if YOU have no plans to take action? Here's why: You're perfectly fine with police brutality, even if that means several unarmed white people get caught in the fray. I keep seeing in these comments people talking about how white people are killed by cops, also. My question to those people is simply this: If you care so much about the white people who have died because of police brutality, who's preventing you from marching? Who's telling you not to demand policy changes? What's stopping you from grabbing a sign and pounding the pavement? Why are you telling everyone else to concern themselves with the issue if YOU have no plans to take action?
Here's why: You're perfectly fine with police brutality, even if that means several unarmed white people get caught in the fray. As long as the current infrastructure serves you and your interests, you'll accept the occasional bump in the proverbial road. You'll rationalize the deaths of those white people, just as you do with black victims and other victims of color.
One thing about the protests, and really all protests concerning issues close to the black community, other communities ultimately benefit from those efforts.
All lives matter it's racist to say only black lives matter for one. 2, we need the law without the law there would be dead bodies all over the streets. They have a dangerous job put their lives on the line daily. So mistakes will be made on both sides. Therefore I leave it in the all knowing God's hands. I don't go out hurt people burn down buildings nor will I start a white matters group. Because all life matters to God. We are in the last days and soon God will be the judge so I leave it in his hands just like everyone else should do. I see no benefit in D- funding the police and getting rid of law enforcement. Four of the Ten Commandments are about how we should live on earth and the law. So be mad at God because he says he puts law enforcement in their place. So you can trust God or you can trust your own self. I will trust the all-knowing god
