I love shes releasing more Latin inspired music because her label really tried to ‘whitewash’ her in the early days. They actually didn’t want her to release ‘Havana’, 🙄 years later her biggest singles are the Latin influenced songs! 👏

@@nameisamine Camilla Cabello was in a couple of latin songs 4 years ago. I’m pretty sure Camilla was the one who wasn’t sure if she should make more latin songs until now.
If you’re talking about fifth harmony, the group was more into pop, since you know, they got famous with the songs they had.
Also Mariah Carey, had light skin so the audience BELIEVED that she wasn’t black just by judging by her skin. And its not that her songs are white, maybe she’s comfortable singing in that style.
If the artists themselves says the labels are forcing them to sing in a “whitewashed” way, then I’ll believe it. But in most cases, they choose what style or genre they want to sing. It usually takes time for singers to notice what they’re good at. They can always switch it up just like other singers.
I absolutely love that she changes up the vibe and the arrangement in every single performance of this song!!!
