You're the easiest person to follow up with and learn from to play the guitar so thank you so much Lauren Bateman she's awesome folk's just really pay close attention to what she says and does..
Robin from London. Bought guitar to help with lockdowns. Thank you i have found you explain very well. Only been doing this 6 months. And slowly getting better .. i am in my 70s
Really like your style Lauren - you're not trying to show off how brilliant you are but you cover all the little nuances that make songs tricky - this is a great help, thank you.
Ive just discovered you! Id a car crash 2 years ago. 13 surgeries, just walking again. I took up an old guutar my motger (rip) gave me 25 years ago. Im strumming away now and know a few songs...badly😂. Thank you for this lesson. Ive just subscribed😊
I really like the way you explain the song before you ever play anything and most people don't even realize that is for their benefit I'm am in awe of what you are doing to help people play and not just play but stay into it and play with their heart in the same way you do when you teach people to and how to play.!!... It really showed on you when you sit down and start teaching people how to get it. The cord's The strumming The picking and i hope in the end we all ( ME ) lol. Can hear you sing a song while you're playing a it'll show people that they can do it to as long as they don't give up on the guitar. Much thanks 👍 LAUREN ( from PAUL from SC )

Great lesson. Always fun to do something from a legend like John Stewart. As your students advance, consider teaching them to pick "Lonesome Picker." Not terribly hard, but keeps the fingers busy on both hands. Thank you for this lesson.
Great song choice and lesson: that chorus has such a nice sound, it was/is a challenge for me but when you get it its a great sound that G C G Em to A7 - D7 is a winner
Hi Lauren. Back from a tough session on a groups new album. Nice to be home. See you are over 80k subscribers. Knew you are heading to 100k. Great job you are doing for beginners to starter intermediate. I can't send you any of my session work. You know about NDAs. Be nice to share some original stuff but I am old and live far away. Keep up the great work and your passion is infectious. In these bad days of Covid-19 you were a light house in the fog for locked up frustrated people who discovered joys of guitar and a pleasant distraction. Keep healthy happy and keep trucking along.
Hey Beautiful So cool seeing the notification that you posted a new vid !!! I like totally freaked out and coudn't get to my guitar fast enough, this is a most tasteful and perfect song to do. Just this last week I scored two new students who already have the basics down but would like to take thier playing to the next step so guess that would be beggining/intermediate level or so. This lesson is absolutely perfect (like you my dear *flirts) Good timing too releasing this latest gem of wisdom on Easter too - you know there's a ot of people relaxing at home with too much time on ther hands today, besides being so very talented you have sharp business sense my dear. You have a unique' angle on your clientel that I think is abolutely genius. I seriously appreciate you Lauren, thank you so much for all that you do :) Rock on ~ Michael your #1 fan

Thank you, Paul for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.
Depending on how comfortable you are moving around the neck, you can play different inversions of the verse chords and approximate the piano part. For G-Am-Bm-C try starting with a D-shaped G on the 7th fret. One strum from the D string down and then pedal the B and E strings to get that piano arpeggio. The use the Dm shape on the 8th and 10th frets for Am and Bm and drop down to a F shape on the 8th fret for C. Just one strum then pedal the B and E. You can figure out the second half of the verse easily enough. It's a fun way to play it too.

Thanks Tom, I'm glad that you found this super helpful.
Great lesson, 2:46 reminded me of Lawrence Welk’s count off. I find using G Maj and G sus 4 works well with the up down intro and after 2nd chorus.
Thanks for watching!

Beautiful job Lauren with this lesson! Is it possible you can add a playthrough of the entire song from beginning to end?
I may be bringing back my play along series.

Thank you! 😃
I need someone to tell/show me (in very easy terms) just what the route note is!
Root note = the note that gives the chord it's name. C chord. C root note.
What about ELO Livin' Thing?
ELO is great!!!
What about the piano notes in the intro?
I didn’t address those in this lesson

How about " darlin be home soon"
Play the whole songs with the chords, that will be easy, instead of doing part by part. Very confusing the way you do it.
Fiorello, I will be adding more play alongs at the end of my videos.
