Hi, is there a way to turn off the hlg HDR Feature? My tv screen gets very dark with HDR enabled. Before, watching sports was fun because I had an bright screen without it, now when watching football in uhd, HDR automatically turns on and everything is very dark. Im using a nanocell sk7900... Do you have any ideas how I can watch in uhd without HDR?
Looks great. Unfortunately I have the older version sky q box which does mot display hdr. After trawling the net it looks like sky are not replacing the older version sky q boxes ! That could all change as and when they transmit more hdr content. Personally I think it's a bit of a kick in the teeth for customers who have the older version boxes..thats sky for you!

Paul I’ve turned off the touch feature on mine! Pleased the HDR is working well on my LG C9 but can’t wait for more content & Netflix/Disney app support as I keep using the better native apps on C9
Differences I've noticed are revised remote control which has slightly different layout/ buttons,has a built in mic and is matte finish on tge back as opposed to the glossy finish on the older one. The box itself i have been given is all black and our old one had a silver strip at the bottom,I think this is because we have mistakenly been given a 1TB box and not a 2TB to replace our old 2TB model. The new box does seem to perform far better,much more responsive when scrolling through menus and is definitely quicker to download stuff. I'm not sure if this is due to this box actually being better itself or just our old box had being dying a slow death making the new one seem faster.

My Sky Q receiver‘s cooling fan is spinning almost consistently even when the device is turned off. Is this normal and do other people experience the same thing? It drives me crazy. Have to drag out the cable after using it every time! 🤦🏻♂️

Will be a long wait before Sky in New Zealand adds HDR to our boxes we only get the skeleton version of tv over here no games no nothing on our boxes just bare bones. We do get sky in HD but it's not HDR very poor service over here we are mostly forgotten about by sky to them we are just subscribing money machines on a bare bones service and they wonder why they lost more than 300,000 subscribers in less than 18 months cause we get nothing new offered to us.

Hi. Can you tell me why my LG C8 65 isn't displaying the hdr banner through Sky Q. Yes, it's sky compatible, all other devices auto switch tho hdr content showing banner hdr like your video. I watched your video and found it odd that my c9 oled wasnt displaying hlg hdr (i knew it could from watching youtube. Bit of investigating and thought id cut out my Yamaha receiver and sure enough, it showed hlg hdr! So now i have the hdmi directly from sky q box to tv then sound via arc back to my receiver. All this time and i thought sky uhd wasnt as good as netflix etc. So thanks for your video, made me rearrange my setup lol👍👍
Billions is an incredible show, I couldn’t agree more with the recommendation. It’s also just been signed up for a sixth season! On another note, I’ve just ordered Sky Q for the first time since switching from BT, which is why I came across this video. So thanks for the content dude, can’t wait to use Sky. 👍
We had one of the first Sky Q boxes up until a couple of weeks ago when the box went nuts and we couldn't get any channels or watch recordings. Lucky enough Sky sent out an engineer who (via an open window to keep social distance) was able to give us a brand new box,then a shortly after this update came out. Only downside is that we previously had a 2TB box and he has only given us a 1TB box. So not sure if this is a mistake or they are doing away with the 2TB boxes.
It’s worth noting that you are renting the equipment from Sky and don’t own it (new for Sky Q customers only). So as a result, you can just call up Sky, tell them you are angry they have added HDR and your equipment is not compatible and ask them how to get an upgrade. If they refuse then you ask how you get a reduction in your subscription then because you are paying exactly the same as someone who has a compatible box and that is not on.
I had it installed today after an 11 week wait for installation!! I have wanted it for years!! i was very happy with it until i tried to bookmark!!! I thought i must have been doing something wrong!! Why the fu?? would they remove such an essential feature?!!!! i had concerts on my HD box with 20 bookmarks! i could go to the song i want within 2 seconds!! Now it's the same as having a VCR!!!This is completely backward!!! I don't know if i can live with this!! it's a mindblowingly dumb decision to remove it!! i'm fairly certain every sky box has had the ability!!! imagine if DVDs or CDs had no bookmarks!!this is essentially what sky have done to me!!

Any idea why my Sky Q box keeps reverting back to 1080i? I keep setting 2160p UHD but it won’t keep this setting. The Sky Q box is connected to my 2020 LG OLED48CX.

Upgrade should be free unless you’ve chosen not to pay for the UHD stuff. Just call them and say you thought you were supposed to be able to watch UHD content on this box but doesn’t seem to be an option. Ask if you can get an upgraded box or ask how to cancel. You are renting the equipment, so if they bring out new tech then you should be able to upgrade to that at no cost. If they refuse then you are in a strong position to complain as they are stunting your available features yet charging you the same in most cases.

I’ve got the 32C006 box. But them thick bastards at sly sold us a normal Sky Q HD box (32C006). I even complained and said that I wanted the Ultra HD box and they said no you did not and I said well use your brain during the call when I said that the reason why I want the SKY Q is because I want to upgrade from standard HD to 4K (Ultra HD) and obviously that means that I want the Ultra HD box. I even said to the woman from sly that will my SKY Q box have HDR and she said yes and this was in August 2019 when I ordered it over the phone 😂😂😂 Because my fibre optic broadband is with Virgin I might probably go for the Virgin TiVo V6 box. At least Virgin bends back for their customers as sly wont. They’ll jus pull their customer pants down and gladly take their money and show no remorse for their cock up.

You won’t be getting any HDR football until next season at the earliest. The next stop in the HDR plan is movies in time for Christmas.

I have virgin media tv. When I watch BT Ultimate the tv doesn't tell me that it's in HDR. Its really frustrating.

I have all 3 UHD subscriptions sky q box but must check list as my sky is down no satellite signal 😢
