I have a lot of feelings re: ace attorney and the many, many parallels it likes to draw between the main case, especially during the first game. Phoenix being saved by Edgeworth and Mia, and him later saving Maya and Edgeworth in return... it gets me every time, yall. SO I made an animatic/pmv to help exorcise my emotions!!

i am not ashamed to admit that the parallel between mia saving phoenix and phoenix saving maya made me burst into tears
love nick's heterochromia and the part where he reaches for mia but grabs maya, well done
One eye seems to be a different shade in quite a few of the shots. It's a really nice touch.

This is all absolutely amazing but MAN the part where Phoneix reaches out for Mia and grabs Maya hit me like a goddamn truck. Just,,,, wow

Okay I really don’t think this was your purpose but when we’re seeing Phoenix and Edgeworth growing at 2:00 and it goes from sketchy to completely colored it really added a little symbolism that is sure you didn’t mean but I liked! Like the past seems sketchy and hard to remember because it’s been so long for both of them

I love that even in greyscale you got across that your Phoenix is heterochromatic, genuinely kind of impressive how visible it is in every expression 😅
This was beautiful. I love the way you portray Phoenix's relationships with Mia, Maya and Miles. It was stunning. So moving and really captured the emotions of these characters emotional stories. Also, I noticed the heterochromia Phoenix Wright and let me tell you I would die for that headcannon, I'm loving that more people are using it. Once again, this was amazing.
Babe is it really a fandom if it doesn't have a Two Birds animatic?
EDIT Sept/3/2021: I believe it is important to state that this is absolutely the best Two Birds animatic I have ever seen. The way that it puts the same lyrics in different lights, (especially the line "He's just a liar,") is just amazing.
Also, props to you, DisappearedSock, for making the story in Ace Attorney for seeming way better than it actually is!
P.S. not liking the story in Ace Attorney is one hot take I will NOT elaborate on.

This is my favorite part of the animatic, as it started with a sketch of Miles and Phoenix as kids, before it gradually gets outlines as the two grew older until its fully outlined and color with the two now adults. I’m sure it has a double meaning but I can’t figure that out yet. Keep up the good work!
Edit: I think I get it! It started with the sketch of the two happy and being the best of friends, then as the outlines appear, they slowly drift apart, as if the outlines represent something like a bad memory or moment in their lives. When it’s completely done with the color, they meet each other again, now conflicted and unsure how to react to see someone they knew as a friend, being portrayed as a villain of sorts.
Basically the short version is that it started rough but bright, like sketch and ends more define but slightly dull or dark, like the complete artwork.
(Sorry the Essay, i just wanna share my opinion on it)
This is an absolute masterpiece, when you put the characters to a certain section of the song, it just, FIT them, and my most favorite part is mia saying, "I'm tired" because I was wondering how you would do her dead, and I thought that was perfect. I love it 100 out of 10

This is probably one of my favorite animatics ever the way you manage to capture not only what Edgeworth and Phoenix’s relationship is like in the first game perfectly to a song that is hard to match up for its full runtime but also are able to add the heart wrenching stuff with maya and mia. It’s just so good

Yeah, the idea my friend and I had (although a little joking xD) is that Edgeworth might end up shooting Dahlia himself out of sheer anger and protectiveness

This animatic not only made me cry (multiple times... why Mia?!) but got me addicted to this song. The animatic so so well put together and highlights the first game (and some of the third) so well! I just streamed my first experience with the Phoenix Wright games. I have so fallen in love with the series so far! It was so hard waiting until I finished Ace Attorney to look for amvs or parodies. My friend just got into Ace Attorney and I immediately shared this with her because imo its the definitive animatic for the fandom 💖 Like legit it's one of my favorite animatics ever made, you really captured the emotions of the first game perfectly, and even heightened them a bit. I saw this a couple months ago when I had first finished the first 3 games and really loved it but I don't think I left a comment and even if I did I already know it wasn't enough because literally. Every. Time. That I think about the first game in this series/this song/sometimes just Phoenix Wright in general, I think about this vid. The part in the second chorus where it's like "and the other says 'I'm tired'" and Mia falls, and Phoenix's face as he goes to catch her and it's Maya, and the way the look at each other, it makes my heart fucking melt, that part of this video is literally inscribed in my brain now and it just makes me so emo, I love it so much. Especially loved seeing feenie react to the rumours about miles, Phoenix and miles as kids vs as adults, seeing Phoenix and his relationships with both Mia and maya, seeing Edgeworth standing against Von Karma in court (one of my fav parts of that trial) and of course getting to see that victory photo!!! Def bookmarking this for when I feel sad and need something to cheer me up 😊💖

I had started down the Ace Attorney rabbit hole recently thanks to RTGame's playthrough of the first trilogy and saw this in my recommendations! This was insanely good!! Very emotional too, I nearly cried!

This is incredible. You used the chorus so well in bringing us along through the storyline, in showing the resolution and the choice Edgeworth faces. You also portrayed his moral dilemmas really well throughout the animatic. I absolutely love Mia at the end as well!
Not only did this make my heart clench at a possibly deadly pressure, it also introduced me to my now favourite song akdjjdksj I will now play this on repeat for the next seven years
I spotted that heterochromia Phoenix- I really enjoy that headcannon so it brings a smile to my face to see more people use it :) I also loved the portrayal of the different friendships and all the dynamic expressions you used! Awesome animatic!!

I'm not sure if this is what you were getting at, but I interpreted the part starting at 2:06 as being about how Edgeworth couldn't let go of the guilt over his father's death. Again, I don't know if that was your intention, but I think it's really well done!
