    I really appreciate the English subtitles. It's perfect because I started learning Danish a year ago so watching a video on my favorite subject (Vikings) in the Danish with english subtitles seems too good to be true.

    Thank you for the English subtitles! I watched it once without them just for the stunning visuals, but when I realized from a comment that subtitles were available, I watched it again and learned so much more! Well done, and thanks again! 😄👍🏻

    funny, 2014 July 12, I and my sons went to Viking market at Trelleborg, we joined the Viking combat training, me as a replacement for deserters, and ended up on opposite sides, my beloved son, became my slayer, odd, history repeats itself.
    but not before I had butchered a lot of enemies, good work my son, see you in valhalla, dad is proud ;-)
    super god dokumentar.

    I cannot read Danish and am grateful for the English subtitles. However, you've created an excellent documentary in any language.
    Mange tak.

    Thank u. Well worth the reading. Arrow heads in the embankment and an arrow for the king. Their are a lot of kings killed by arrows in history.
    Watch out for the archer,
    He doesn't have a sword.
    He'll pin ya to the rampart,
    He'll pin ya to a board.
    Thank u Gare

    Some historians think the viking ringcastles was also part of the mobilization of the invasion army heading for England after an english king had killed some of Svends family.

    Man hører meget om Trelleborg, hvad med den største borg, Aggersborg?

    • @Strejferen
      @Strejferen  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeg tror forklaringen er, at Trelleborg er den borg, man ved mest om, da den er bedst bevaret, og der har været flest fund. Af Aggersborg var der bare en lille jordknold tilbage.

    • @Hammerhook12
      @Hammerhook12 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rune Kreim Larsen Tja det var så dog en jordknold. Men okay, hvad var så ideen bag disse borge? der har mange teorier, der veksler sig fra borgerkrig med Harald Blåtand mod sin rebelske søn Svend Tveskæg, simpel træning af soldater og/eller beskyttelse mod "andre" . Var det ikke efter Svend's overtagelse at alle de borge gik væk?

    • @Strejferen
      @Strejferen  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hammerhook12
      Ja, borgene var jo ikke i brug i ret mange år, så derfor kan de muligvis kun have været til brug i borgerkrigen, men man aner det jo mildest talt ikke. Der er i år netop opdaget en ny vikingeborg ved Vallø nær Køge, så det kan måske ændre vores opfattelse af historien, da den kan være med til at give nye oplysninger. Der er også teorier om man det var Svend, der byggede dem, men det tror jeg ikke rigtigt på. Jeg tror, at grunden, til at borgene blev opgivet,, var, at man havde fejlvurderet, hvor dyre de var at holde i drift, så man besluttede at lade dem stå til, når nu der ikke rigtig var nogen trussel efter borgerkrigen.

      Rune Kreim Larsen Ja, jeg mener nu også at det at rigets magt blev nærmest monopoliseret spillede en stor rolle. Nu gjaldt det pludseligt ydre fjender mere end nabo høvdingen.

    Thank you. I love the video. I like to explore older archeological sites. Here is my story: just to think about it. I sometimes work to tracker, hunter of terrorist. I can find them without leaving the country of the USA. I have family ties to the UK, and northern Europe. So my specialty is astral projection, out of body psi spying. I decided to go to stone henge UK at the ancient time to see who built it. I have done enough spying through time to know about the UFOs all over UK and N. Europe in ancient times. I know that people saw them from ships in the water every day and they would think it odd if no space ships flew over land and water. Some time between that Viking time and the dark ages they aliens started to hide their ships. I don't know. But I went to stone henge and sure enough the stones were flown over land about three feet of the ground levitated. The large grey space ships pounded the stones into the ground. My mother asked me as a teen age what I thought stone henge was without thinking I said well it is a dry dock for space ships. They are heavy and would sink into the ground. She looked at me in complete Shock. Huh? OK well all spies talk about UFO please forgive me. But.... What was I interesting is... That humans were nearby fighting with each other. Tall black and brown haired men. So strong I thought. Wowo what do the women look like if the men were so strong and healthy!!? So I was bound now to follow the men around to see where and how they live. I found they lived in a round fort that was like a hill. It was dug into the ground Huge wooden doors into their fortress just like you showed on your video. But it was covered over the sides and top with dirt and grass. I thought: how do they breath in there? Where do they get water, do they have a well? How strong is their ceilings to hold small mountains up? How many people can live hide underground? Is this after the above ground round forts? Or is this before the above ground forts? Mound builders. I love to look for history. I am thinking how close viking long houses are to American Indian long houses for winter are. If you want to learn astral projection, out of body archeological, anthropology. You can look up The Monroe Institute in Virginia US. And José Silva method TX US on the web. They are both good. Then you can go out of body and back in time to see Ancient civilization's. Some people go out of body and come back and write historical novels. Nice video thanks.
