First. Could you make a video about the history of a specific manufacturer? This would cover their first ride, their struggles, strengths, accidents and stuff like that. For example: RMC it would cover their greatest strengths, accidents, struggles, etc.

The Rainbow at Elitch Gardens was basically my favorite thing in the world for a number of years. I remember being so fascinated with how big the gondola was and how fast it moved as a kid, and the airtime with those minimal restraints was insane.

I rode that thing when a friend invited me to go with his family. Saw it on TV and thought it would be awesome to ride. Nope, it scared the crap out of me. I think I was 10 or 11 at the time. This was back in the 80's. I remember it being right by the entrance to the park.

I was on Liseberg at the moment the accident happend. The attraction passed the inspection that day. I dont know how many hour/cycles it was classed for but it broken about 50% in to it lifetime.
Rainbow was removed and got scrapped after the accidents. There where no deaths in the accident.
The straff was amazing good to help all guest and rescue workers. They where and still are trained what to do if something happend like an accident that are very rare.

I've rode every version of this ride, including the Western Themed ride.
I remember, back in the day, when one would come to our local fair, the rumor always started that it fell backwards on the first night of the fair. Obviously that never happened, but the rumor always came out. Such a fun ride that I wish more were operating today.

I remember when the Great Escape had their rainbow ride. I always wanted to ride it when I was young, but I wasn't tall enough. When I was eventually tall enough, the ride's days at the park were numbered, and it was dismantled and thrown behind Desperado Plunge. I wonder if this is the reason I love forward facing 1001 Nauts rides so much. I haven't ridden one for a while as the Arizona State Fair is being stupid and not offerring the unlimited wrist band anymore, but I have great memories experiencing the forward facing 1001 Nauts rides at different fairs. You get swayed back and forth, and get some great floater airtime. Such a fun ride, and some of the fairs I've been to, you can get some great views from it.

It hasn't operated in a few years mainly since covid with staffing issues. Possibly site l due to parts availability as well. When it breaks, it's normally down for the season but it is rare it breaks down.

This is a core childhood memory for me! I'm from SC, and the pavillion in Myrtle Beach had this ride. It was placed right next to the ocean at the end of the park. I remember I was too little to ride it the first time, and was SO Sad! My older sister and Mom went and I was left behind w my dad. I remember crying lol. But I got to go the next year.

When I was a kid there was a Rainbow ride that would come to the Oklahoma State Fair. I loved that ride. I rode it by myself once and held onto the lapbar like my life depended on it because I hated sliding side to side across the seat. Never rode by myself again, and I haven't seen it out there in several years, so I guess they took it out of circulation.

Just found this page...Awesome!!!! I had a Rainbow at one of my home parks(Elitch Gardens) and it was incredible!!!!! Our Rainbow was on a 10-15ft platform so it was that much taller. The ride operators seemed like they were trying to see how long they could keep us out of our seats...LOL It was just as popular as one of the roller coasters when it came to the park. Was truly sad when they had to remove it.

The traveling showman that brings the rides to local fall fairs in my area in Canada had a Rainbow at least until a few years back (maybe 2017?). I've since moved to a new area, so Idk if it is still in service. I think the one I remember was a knock-off of Huss' Rainbow design though; it was called Rainbow and had a sun with a face at the centre of the arm, but it had rows of individual seats with over-the-shoulder restraints and the sun graphic was smaller & designed without lights. Each year, it often got placed right next to a Wisdom-made Avalanche.
The Rainbow was in ROUGH shape, the last time I saw it. Like noticeably rough; it rattled way more than any other flat ride brought to the event, at least a 1/4 of the lights were burnt out or just missing. And about 3-4 seats were unusable, with their restraints blocked off and actaully partially "pinned" down with duct tape. Like It wasn't just a case of marking the seats as unusable to guests, the tape actually looped around the bars and whatever the seat back mounted to...Even if the tape was part of keeping the (apparently) indivdually malfunctioning restraints in a locked position and perfectly safe, it doesn't instill confidence.
With Avalanche being a similar G-force experience (albeit one with much less height thrill) and sitting next to the Rainbow, and clearly in much better shape, the Rainbow often ran with almost no line-up...it was sad.

I've only ridden one Rainbow, and it happened to be the one at Liseberg (obviously before the accident) - the ride itself did not look intense from the ground, but the sliding back and forth proved otherwise. @@mr.huuurzuz7746 That's a good question and unfortunately I don't have an accurate answer. I thought I read that it went out West Canada somewhere last I checked. I remember our machine being a sturdy beast whereas other Rainbows would have the supports sway a bit - but ours stood firm. Whoever has it has a good ride. I wonder if it's still running?

@@mr.huuurzuz7746 Beats me then. I only worked there as a ride breaker (relieve employee breaks on various rides) and had nothing to do with it's sale.

Anyone else remember the 1001 Nacht at Knobels? It was awesome so much airtime

Crazy story about the one in Knoebels : the right used to have their traditional backdrop but some Christians actually complained about the topless woman on the backdrop and so much that they actually and painted over her to make her more modest and eventually removed the backdrop altogether. Also people complained about the gypsies on the ride gondola and they were removed because they claimed the ride was racist even though it came from a country where it wasn’t an issue.

The a.r.m version is a vastly inferior experience. Rainbow is much smoother, with a gliding sensation. They are a visually impressive ride, with the motor making a distinct whirring sound.

You have promised fast pacing. Well if you ask your colleague "what is it like to ride Huss Rainbow?". The answer should not be 2 minutes of mumbling about "how are it is" "how greatful I am to ride it" "how many are travelling" etc.
