Twiga is the Swahili word for Giraffe. I wrote this song and played ukulele. My friends, Bob and Kim Ray, played guitar and violin. Thanks you guys!
I was inspired to write this song when my book GIRAFFE MATH published in 2023. GIRAFFE MATH is an interactive picture book that explores these spectacular animals through a STEM lens as everything from their speed and size to their intricate camouflage patterns (which function as internal air-conditioning) and other body characteristics are featured. The book is an in-depth look at the animal kingdom's most beloved gentle giants.
