I think this is a cool series, But it gives the impression that getting into drifting is easy. I'm a grassroots driver and have only been to several events because the finances required to drive are tremendous. Now i'm not bashing the show because i think its really good, just have to say it gives unrealistic expectations to people looking to get into the sport. Without big money its not possible to do what she has done as quickly. But showing the people and community being so open armed is very accurate. Super friendly bunch, Drifters. Ether way good luck in your future endeavors Becky. Hope you compete and take your driving as far as you can!
Well... from the show it is kind of easy to figure it is not for "anyone's wallet" as a hobie. You can clearly tell she is pretty well hooked up on coin AND she got well hooked up on a network of people. Still, I don't think the point is "anyone can be a pro-drifter in a couple of months", but more a kind of "if you have a crazy dream... you have to step out of YOUR comfort zone".
Not to dismiss YOUR personal achievements, or the struggles you had to go through to get to where you are, but I think "the show" (because.. it is a show after all) is about something else. And kudos for her. It is an inspiring show anyway...
it is easy, when you have red bull backing and filming you. I don't believe anyone would think of it as easy, when you don't have the support she has.
Drifting isn’t all about comp. feels like you’ve missed the entire point of what drifting is about. With a mindset like that you’ll never have fun behind the wheel of your car lol.

I don't see the point of this series, if the point of it is to promote garage D, red Bull drivers, red Bull backed events and stand out the UK and Irelands best drivers I get it. But as a grass roots and pro-am drifter myself this whole experience that is being portrayed as someone learning the culture and physically learning to drift is completely unrealistic and far fetched from anyone who is starting out drifting properly, also the mentality of getting into drifting with the focus of competing is not good for someone with no experience of the sport, with that mentality there are alot of holes and mis-focuses people fall into I.e building an overbuilt car they have no ability to drive and forever limit their ability to progress. I like Bec and think it's awesome she was given this opportunity and good job red Bull for making this happen but I would hate for this series to trick some people into a false reality of what drifting really is. I'm thinking back on how my experiences were and although I maybe not all that experienced as I admittedly have only been drifting for a sort period of time (8 months) I'm fortunate and lucky enough that the drift community I'm surrounded in here at Brisbane Australia most notably archerfield drift Park owned by Luke Fink have decades of experience and have tutored me a very practical idealogical way to see drifting and number 1 rule is seat time! Also fun. I consider myself one of the lucky ones whoes had alot of opportunity since deciding to learn how to drift then further make the decision to start competing and have reaped the reward but I understand that most commonly everyones journey with drifting is very differnt from how mine has come to be and an impossible reality from how this videos representation is. They're trying to make an entertaining show though. If it was realistic it would just be about her doing her trailer license, buying a transit van and then demolishing one or more E36s at Birmingham wheels oval. I would love that to be fair but people who aren't into drifting would be put off. I agree about the competition thing though, it's hard for people from other motorsports to understand that most people are just drifting for the fun of it and nobody wins you just spend all your money and crash a lot.
This has been an entertaining series and Becky has, it seems, really put in a lot of time and effort. Why rain on her parade?
Just throw money at a girl, who looks the part and has some experience.
This reflects drift culture so little, as competitive drifting moves further and further away from its roots
Buying a mint $10,000+ drift car to “learn” with is just flat out stupid, and misleading.
@@chrisdyson5513 its not a rain on her parade i mentioned in my comment and i quote " i like Bec and think its awesome she was given this opportunity and good job red bull for making this happen" what im picking at is the point of the series if its purpose is to inspire people to start drifting then im very against the series, which personally i believe is what this series is attempting to do because the travelling to different countries to try capture some history and the competitive aspect of the sport which is something someone just starting out does not do at all, we all get in to drifting because we wanna do a skid, once we do a skid it adapts from there
can we see the entire drift clip and not a dumb edit to make it super dramatic. just let me see the solid run.

I attended the Redbull drifters in Liverpool, bring it back people, we are a city that loves motor sport 👍😊👍.
This is one way to alienate the actual grass roots drifters. To portray real grass roots there should be a way heavier focus on the car, the at home modifications, and the actual struggle of practicing. Episode 5 and we've seen a lot of pros giving "advice" and barely any wheel time. More driving, less fashion show. Also, no helmet on that head of hers? Come on redbull
NowYaKnow No helmet on a skid pad without any other cars is fine unless there’s a roll cage in the car.
@@doctordewbie7681 If she's as new as they lead you to believe, she should be wearing a helmet regardless. There's a wall there. Not that I'm Mr Safety or anything but for real, put a couple domers on. Btw, she's literally leading a tandem at the end with no lid.

Pretty sure Pod doesn't make you wear a helmet on a full practice day.

For someone who's not that into the whole drift scene, that series was mega! I know a heck of a lot of work goes into it but that really showed me the inside world of drifting.... Hats off to Becky and Red Bull 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
I've thoroughly loved this series...I've genuinely enjoyed every minute; loving the process and the personal journey along the way...it felt privileged to be part of it. At times it was deeply moving and emotional...one of the highlights for me, was when you asked Julian sign the diff, and he was really touched by the simple, but effective sentiment...respect Becky. And all the best for your future in competitive Drifting...
And now I really miss Nicole LZ with gabby slaying the OSW skid pad....

I may have a father out there somewhere but all I could think of when she said she had "two dads" is my lack of any dads besides my grandpa who tells me to give up on my hobbies cause they cost too much money and time. Feels good :)

I don’t get why everyone is against this series it’s good a bit to much backing from the sponsors I’ll admit but Becky started with no clue and now she can link bends and have a good time doing it let’s not forget people drifting is all about fun! I would love to have opportunity like this just like many of these haters would aswell well done Becky keep it up and tell Julian I want my headlight for my s14a
Excellent episode Becky, and well done Red Bull. Clearly you have put in a lot of time and effort and your progress is clear to see. Some people here have tried to rain on your parade by suggesting this is not what drifting is all about and might give potential newcomers the wrong impression. Maybe they’re right and maybe they’re not. I’m not a drifter so couldn’t say but you are and can. Prove them wrong, go out there and get competing. Very best of luck!

Are those M3 mirrors on S15 ?
They introduce this serie as the journey of a beginner, then at the first second of the episode they show an r34... well yeah nice car but is it what a beginner would experience ?
A close to stock e36 or 46 with wheels and a full exhaust system on some coils maybe a hydro and that's about it
