I went 2 years without lights. I had a repair service give me a quote for $445. I only paid less than $900 for the fridge, Until I found this video--ordered the parts from Amazon for $37 and I'm so proud of myself I fixed it. Thank you for this video...
Outstanding. Good pacing and clear narration and pics! I was stuck trying to get the light out because upper light fridge clips are nearly invisible on my fridge. Thanks!!
Great video. One thing I would suggest is to consider briefly testing out replacement light assemblies before snapping back into their respective spots. Just in case. Many times i have reassembled things only to have them still not function properly.
Very well said and very clean, very helpful! By the way, my refrigerator is Whirlpool, WRS322FDAM. two lights are off. Where can I buy replacing lights? Thank you very much!
Wanted to say thank you for your tutorial. Had the exact same problem with my Whirlpool refrigerator. Got the parts from Amazon, and using your steps fixed it! The only notes are, the freezer has to thaw just a few minutes or you take a chance breaking the plastic, and as I have a smaller fridge, my arms didn't fit all the way in. Other than that worked fine. Thank you!!!
Excellent! I’m really glad you were able to get the parts and fix the lighting in your fridge! That’s a good tip on letting the freezer thaw out. Mine was empty and was already set to a warmer temperature so I was able to work on it right away. Thanks for watching!
These have gone out three times for me in the freezer in my whirlpool. Doing it again now for the refrigerator portion. Thought LEDs would last longer. Appliances aren't what they used to be.
That's the exact model that I have. I just ordered the lights on Amazon today, about $46 for one refrigerator LED and two freezer LEDs. I ordered the whole lens assembly but I should have just ordered the boards.
It doesn’t matter that you ordered the lenses with the LEDs. The price difference probably isn’t that much. But now you’ll have extra lenses lying around.
@@digitalcamproducer I didn't have any problems with installing the refrigerator lights, they went in fairly simple. But, I was discouraged when they didn't light up. But the freezer lights were another story. I had to get both shoulders inside the freezer compartment, along with a flashlight to see what I was doing to insert the plug back into the jack. When I finally got it done, I realized that the lights wasn't oriented correctly, that was my main problem. It sure is a good feeling when the LEDs turn on.
I just replaced the freezer light for the second time in 7 years. The quality of Whirlpool is terrible. I long for the old days when you could just screw in a 15W appliance bulb for $2

LED lights are cheaper and easier to manufacture and can be made to last longer. Blame the greed of the corporations and capitalism.

The worst thing about Whirlpool fridge bulbs is that they start blinking before they go out and that causes me severe pain and can cause a seizure.
