- Today we are diving into a fresh new build. We are looking at a 1972 Dodge Challenger that has now been halfway converted to look like a 1970 Dodge challenger rt. The car was originally purchased as a basketcase as we were initially going to hemi swap and 6 speed swap the challenger but after starting the swap into the 1970 charger, we didnt want to do 2 of the same thing so we are not sure exactly how we are are going to go about abuilding this car. We might end up with a big block mopar or a small block mopar or an LS or a 2JZ or even a Barra, we just dont know yet. lets look over the car and see where we stand first.

Hi NW! Keep her all Mopar. My crystal ball sees it being a T/A 340 Six Pack clone. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to the build. Cheers from Motown!
Hey man! Thats a realy good idea but the 340 and 6 pack stuff is probably really pricey 😂
Put a supercharged 383 into it.
That's a good idea! Not too many boosted big blocks running around!
What is wrong with the rear axle? It looks like an 8 3/4 which is one of the best.
It's an open diff so I have to pick up a sure grip unit for it. Its also missing the rear brake hardware, only has the backing plates and the yoke is the wrong one for the driveshaft.
@@nightwrencherperformance What sure grip did you buy? I want one with no clunking but affordable. Not 800 dollars.
Dr. Diff sells new Sure grip units for like $400 I think
@@nightwrencherperformance How good are they? What type? Cones, clutches or gears?
Theyre basically OEM reproductions with clutches. No Bolts Left Behind had one in his challenger, worked pretty good.
LS swap, or any Mopar V8
A honda K20 sounds nice 🤔
@@nightwrencherperformance go for it!!!
Man. I think the 74 Charger I gave you has more parts on it. I emphasize, maybe.
I know! I have to find a day to go get it!
@@nightwrencherperformance Let me know and we’ll make it happen.
👍💪
👊
Twin turbo small block... la not a magnum.
Any particular reason why not the magnum? 😂
I've heard the extra heat will crack the heads
Oh I see. The heads are known to crack even NA. There are aftermarket iron heads that dont seem to crack, might be worth looking into
How 'bout a Don Garlits Blown 392 Hemi under glass 😎 You'd make him proud.😊
@@Anthony-nw5zv new hemi or old hemi? 😂
