I found the 6.0.1 to be rather heavy for my snappy j5.. Unfortunately it took up too much space, as well. I could not even install half of the apps I used to have with 5.1.1. So... I went back to the better, faster and much lighter and less memory-hungry Marshmallow.

Same with mine. It's been 4 years now since you posted this question. If the phone still works, I suggest backing up your data if you still need it, and then perform a factory data reset. It should fix the updating problem.

i update myphone J500H to Marhsmallow 6.0 using a manually installation Odin3.. Just go to SamMobile website and download the Saudi Arabia with a version of 6.0 or 6.1...

Marshmallow lags so i download lollipop old version form sammobile and flashed with odin now its smoother than marshmallow
