According to Mikel Arteta in the interview he made with jermy Carrager about two years ago he said that Arsen wvenger advised and encouraged to go for the course because he knew he would be a good manager and Coach in future on first training session and that's why he chose him to Captain at Arsenal. Arsen wvenger also said that same statement during the World cup with Bein Sports.
In fact even David Moyes knew he would be a coach at Everton even before he joined Arsenal. According to Tim Horward, Moyes would make tactical plans and give them to Arteta to fellow players and whenever a player complained of not understanding the Coach, Moyes would recommend them to Mikel Arteta for more explanation.
