There is a book in America called “1000 books you should read before you die”. Small Gods was the recommendation from discworld. It was the first I heard of discworld. I loved it. The villain is terrifying. The philosophers are hilarious. And the turtle moves!!!
Why don't your videos have 100,000 views apiece? It is criminal that so few people know about Pterry. My friends roll their eyes every time I suggest a different discworld book to them. I've even suggested the sky one movies to start. People I've forced to watch Going Postal liked it, but rarely continue reading. What gives? May the algorithm see my engagement and push this video towards the top of other people's lists. Once they have grown up from Xanth, maybe they'll start on this truly majestic series.
Thank you! I also find it quite difficult to successfully recommend Discworld lol, the series is so varied and there are so many routes to entry that it's hard to know what will finally hook someone in as well. It has been fun, since I've made this series, getting to talk to more people who like the books!
@@quietasmouse I first heard it on audio, which allowed me to get to grips with it. When I read it I got more out of it, and still do with each successive read.
I’ve got to admit I was slightly disappointed with Small Gods after everyone seeming to talk about it very highly. I loved Brutha and Om and their relationship together. I’m looking forward to the next book, Lords and Ladies, which I’m starting tonight. Great review again :-) I love watching them after finishing each book
U sound like a Pratchett completist. Maybe u r. How hot is it now in s'ern UK? Maybe palm trees will grow in London and along the full length of the channel coast, just like they do in Devon & Cornwall.
This is my most read Discworld book I love brother's compassion "but I'm me" has always stayed with me it's something I aspire to

Small Gods is quietly serious and on my shortlist of favorite disc world books. Brutha really grows on you!
He does!
This and mort are such underrated books!

One of my faves! So many happy memories...
I wouldn't have put it as one of my favourites last time round, but I did enjoy it so much more this time round!

Hi, Mouse. I think religion (as any other institution of power) has to be questioned by every new generation. Stories are a good way to do such.

I don't know what a Pratchett completist is so I'm not sure if I am one, sorry! :)
@@quietasmouse Completist = someone who has read all the books Pratchett wrote.
