8th grade on Khan Academy: 8th grade is all about tackling the meat of algebra and getting exposure to some of the foundational concepts in geometry. XxTHATGUYxX122 If the bases are different, they cannot be combined using exponent rules. You would have to evaluate each one separately before multiplying or dividing those answers. Don't mix apples and oranges. :)

@@missamericana6336 if one base is a multiple of another it can be simplified 2^3 * 4^6 = 2^3 * 2^12 = 2^15. divide the base by 2 and multiply the exponent times 2
